I love the hypocrisy behind the statement: "People already get defensive when you challenge their beliefs!" Coming from the organisation that will turn face and run away from anyone who has any knowledge about their structure and belief system and pushes back.

@@nbagoats4819 I love that you take that statement and interpret it as "hate". So if a JW was to approach someone and ask them what they believe, and point out areas maybe where their understanding is lacking, that's love, but if someone does the same to them, that's suddenly viewed as "hateful"? Do you see how the logic there doesn't follow and how it can be hypocritical?

@@nbagoats4819 That's demonstrably not true. From their own literature, to their own videos, they are encouraged to ask: "Why?" and encourage conversation and even given responses to the various reasons given. I know. I was a pioneer for most of my time as a JW. While some witnesses do turn around and walk away, that's not what they're encouraged to do.
Also, again, you're approaching this from such an uncharitable position to literally everyone not a JW. If a family member asks questions about the JW's genuinely, and wants to point out some fallacies, is the Witness encouraged to stay and engage in debate? What if the JW says: "Why don't you come to this year's Memorial?" and the family member goes, "Ok, I will, I'm genuinely interested in knowing what you believe. Is it ok, if I go to the Memorial, that then you agree to come with me to this seminar on Evolution?", what do you think the Witness will do, or is told to do, by the organisation?

They hide abuse crimes and the offenders themselves away with confirmed experiences of many victims ending up being shunned. They claim that they don't force their hands in front of you for tithe and yet, push cartoons on impressionable children to give what little cash they have to them. Do they not realize that there is so much yey of the earth to be discovered and explored and that there are Anthropologists and Scientists and others of HIGHER Education who are still helping us learn about our world? When disasters happen, are those from God or Nature? Is not the Earth a Living thing? Have JWs sought to form Charitable Relief Non-Profits that would relieve the suffering of those in disaster situations other than their green or grey Bibles? There is so much left to this vast earth to even discover. Who ever thought archeologists would find dinosaur bones in Montana?!? There’s nothing to destroy. My father never drank or used any drugs. He would throw away any literature he'd find in the house and we (mom, bro, sis, and I) used to have our family study 'under ban'. We'd have it in the hallway outside of my bedroom because my room was over the garage and we'd know he was coming. Everyone had their places to be once he entered the house. I wanted to say: “ Please, just stop 😖. I get it.” Makes me think of people being programmed like a robot or computer to do the task automatically.
Even worse is when WT told you that if you don’t go out in the ministry to preach and teach, you become “bloodguilty”. Why? Because should the householder die without knowing about Jehovah and because you personally failed to deliver the message of salvation, you are bloodguilty! Of course, WT, will cherry pick a scripture to back their message. I thought Jehovah is the one to execute judgement, not humans. Afterwards, came back to the US and became inactive while I went back to school and established a career. At 65 years of age, my husband was dying and the JWs came knocking at my door. For context, I’m a raised-in exjw (walked away over 40 years ago) and I’ve learned a lot since the time I left, and I find it extremely difficult to believe that any intelligent human alive today still believes in an invisible deity who intervenes in human daily affairs, or ever did!!
I can hardly believe that I ever did, but from what I’ve learned about the human mind, I now understand how ALL humans are programmed with the beliefs that they’ll hold (unless they become informed) for the rest of their lives…
So I understand why I was fooled, and rather than wallow in guilt, I’m grateful at having been informed and that I’m free from the bullshit.

I’m not speaking specifically about the jws, although what I’ve learned explains exactly how we’re all (all humans of ANY culture) susceptible to being programmed without any knowledge whatsoever about what’s happening to us. If that’s of any interest to you, I’ll be glad to proceed.

Alright then, it’s based upon science and has been known for millennia by certain groups, now scientists have managed to understand, observe, and measure the functions of the brain and how human behavior works.
I’ll start by telling you of the work of the cellular biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton. Some years ago I got a copy of his book The Biology of Belief. I highly recommend it, too much info to review on this platform, but it explains about epigenetics and how, contrary to popular belief, our lives aren’t governed by our genes, but rather by our beliefs and thoughts. Also books by Dr. Joe Dispenza: Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, and others.
Remember to be open minded and think about what you’re reading rather than rejecting it because certain sources (eg. parents, religious figures) that you thought that you could trust never told you these things. If you want to discuss further, let me know and we can exchange emails, or other contact info…

When thousands of JWs woke up and left, Watchtower published comments accusing these former members of “serving for a date” … i.e… 1975 didn’t a mount to anything so these fakers left!
Just a despicable religion of empty drivel. So glad to be out!

I don’t think I’ve commented here before but a subject came up the other day in Stacey Valens video concerning the urgency message that was and continues to be preached by the 9 deluded/ wicked souls in Warwick. As an ex JW myself, “ urgency” was so hypocritical and today also. Stacey gave the analogy of a burning building which is an urgent matter especially if there are people inside. Now, if this urgent matter by JW ‘s is as urgent then why the apathy? Standing and sitting around carts waiting for people to approach l and then if they do they just hand out a magazine? Going door to door on a Saturday morning (and most only do it that often) and if they’re brave enough, get their bibles out and then go to some park or cafe after a few doors for refreshments. Then after that maybe do a few more doors then call it a day? Little invitations to meetings that really don’t hit the urgency button anyway? I don’t know, it seems like the modern term for urgency has done a 180 since looking back at least 30 years ago. Let’s build a multi million dollar media building because the time is so urgent. Let’s withhold vital information from the authorities because it’s urgent. A big one for me is the so-called urgency when the GRC ( Government’s response to Covid) period was underway. That didn’t stop lobbyists going door to door and other authorities. Why couldn’t they go door to door with a mask or just keeping their distance? No, they just listened to their God in Warwick and did their little meetings via zoom. So much for courage and urgency. And please rank and file don’t tell me that they were still witnessing via zoom because your leaders have always harped on the message that house to house is the most effective way to preach. Your leadership is hypocritical, deluded and disgusting. Most of you unwittingly practice idolatry by serving a Warwick God

His grandparents were residential school survivors, and I think that has had residual effects on everyone in his family.
He is a nice guy, but also kind of dumb, the kind of guy who laughs at his own farts. It would not surprise me if he adopted a religion instead of some introspection. Dude really needs therapy.

Jesus did not teach salvation through good works. Remember he taught about the parting of the sheep and goats? What did he say to those who named all their good deeds? "I never knew you". Please read the Bible again. It is only by putting faith in Jesus' blood sacrifice, repenting and confessing our sins that we can be saved. This deep realization brings us so much joy, freedom and love that we will freely express that love to our neighbour, i.e. all people we encounter, by visible deeds

I never liked this story when I was still catholic. My child brain couldn't comprehend why god had to test his loyal servant. Well, the bible implied that god was sort of jealous of all the love and attention that Isaac got and felt like Abraham loved Isaac more. But... Isaac wouldn't have been born in the first place if god didn't give Sarah the ability to get pregnant. So he kinda brought this on himself. Besides, how messed up and childish does god have to be to make such a cruel test? The most common excuse I heard from fellow catholics was "God never intended to kill Isaac and wanted to show that human sacrifice is bad."
Aren't there less traumatizing options? That feels very over the top and unjustified. That's like threatening to shoot your child's pet just to show how dangerous guns are.

Being forced to watch Abraham almost kill his beloved son will be devastating to any JW women who gave up children to adoption or had an abortion prior to coming into the "Truth".

Any parents who have lost children to death or miscarriage.. also will be retraumatized.
    😳
What a loving, merciful thoughtful organisation this... ISN'T!! 😭
