- The NVIDIA Shield TV Pro is the best Android streaming box that money can buy right now. It comes with a beefy Tegra X1+ chipset and 3GB of RAM, but the internal storage is limited at 16GB. If that doesn't sound like enough storage space for your media needs, you can make use of the NVIDIA Shield TV's USB ports and mount an external storage device to easily expand your available storage.
In this video I show you how I do it and make room for my favourite Apps plex server ,Kodi server ,Sideload chrome, X-plore file manager, geforce now, steam link.

I would like your help to know if it is possible to connect a NAS storage to NVidia Shield? Using as an external hard drive over the network to install apps and games? Not sure if it is feasible (mounting an external drive over the local network).

Very informative and insightful video. I've been wanting to get a Shield Pro for awhile now but I've been hesitant due to not being certain it would fit my needs. I have a decent sized media library In currently managing with a Amber X but unfortunately I can't create a Plex Media Server with it. (Thats reserved for the Amber Pro which is almost $600) Watching your video has pushed me further towards getting a Shield Pro!! I have a question though.
Can the Shield connect to HD's on your local network that Plex can reference and use or does the HD have to be plugged directly into the Shield?

Hello, First of all, a big thank you for your quality tutorial. I really enjoy listening to your videos. I have a little problem for the moment with Aurora which does not launch, but it worked before so maybe an update or a problem created this bug. I use other market like aptoid or other in the meantime. Regarding the launcher I am surprised to see how great it is! I'll see how I can organize the widgets. I just have a quick question, I put applications and updated sections, add apps to the right sections and I have configured application displays but they don't update. I don't know where the problem comes from, how to force the update of moving applications to sections, updating apps... ? Do I have to restart the Shield? Thanks again.
Edit : After rebooting ma Nvidia Shield. I have a big black screen with the launcher ant I can just see the status bar, le title '' Widget '' and nothing else.. I have a 2017 Nvidia Shield, this is maybe the problem..? So I disabled the launcher :(

hey this was an awesome video I must say. how do you fix apps that you download from google play that don’t display properly on the TV? (like someone holding phone vertically while recording)
There seems to be a bit of this tutorial missing. A 3.30 you start talking about an App that is similar to The Play Store but with the ability to spoof other devices.
There is no mention of how that app gets installed.
this is driving me crazy, Im trying to figure it out too. Ive listened to this section so much his audio is hurting my ears:)

On Smartphones that is possible easely but on Tv Boxes?
If you go back to where he installed that first app store (can't remember the name) after logging out and then going back in there was an option to either log in with your Google account or to log in anonymously, which is how he logged in. Hope this helped.
Hello, a question, I have an Oled LG C1 of 77... I basically watch streaming and movies in REMUX quality broadcast from my PC to the TV (with Plex or Emby)
Do you think it’s good to add the Nvdia Shield Pro (especially for the Remux) or doesn’t it make much sense?

Do you need the roms on the hdd or can be downloaded through retroarch itself
you need the ROMs on your hdd. Although there are some homebrew games you can download within the app which are pretty cool..chucki egg etc..

Is pronounced as "INvidia" not "NAvidia"........ Back in the Day games used to start with an ad for NVIDIA and you could hear the pronunciation. I don't know where the NA vidia preference started but too many people are saying the brand name incorrectly these days LOL.
For sideloading third party apps I prefer APK pure app store. There are several sources out there people recommend but in general I find a combination of apkpure or just simply sending files I grab off APK mirror to my shield to be the best solution. With apk pure it makes it easy to see if the app needs updated Etc.

Almost all android box's will do that did you find one . Start with one costing fifty dollars or pounds
spoofing not working at the aurora app anymore? after restart still not working? any workarounds? ... update: it worked now. i logged in with my google account then i deleted cache of app and data. then restarted and logged in again and spoofed . then killed the app and logged in again
Be aware, if you logged in with Google, I think that it written when you go for the first time on Aurora, you could be on '' the black list '' by Google.. And I think you will be restricted.
Just create a new account if your worried 👍

i have one very big problem . i just installed angry birds 2 and in second stage you need to click a button to skip the level faster. Mouse cannot click it. Same problem i have with some StadiaGames in the Chrome Browser. Sometimes mouse can not click stuff on the nvidia android screen. is there a solution for this? tyvm

@@TechFigure didnt work. Its very easy to reproduce. Install Angry Birds 2 and play level 2 with your regular mouse. Game will ask you to hit the button in the right down corner. But your clicks with mouse simply do nothing
i googled it and many ppl have problems with those real mouseclicks on android apps. a solution for this would be a real lifesaver.
Try plugging in a USB mouse
i kinda now understood the problem... this clicks not working mostly when in the app they put something like a second layer over a UI. like and UI ontop of an UI. then the mouse cannot reach that overlay. it seeems like it hangs on the main base layer and cannot recordnise that it should jump to the higher layer for a moment
My google play store app on my shield looks nothing like this, and has no spoof option. Must've been changed since you made this video.
You need to download the Aurora Play store.... The Nvidia shield doesn't have that...

Not seeing the hamburger menu option in the PlayStore nor can I find a spoof option. Am I missing something?
Forget app stores that require you to attempt to spoof certain devices. It's very unnecessary and extremely messy and will result in different weird versions of the application because it thinks you are using different hardware than you are actually using. Try the APK pure app Store. You can download APKPure app store which is a great Google Store replacement for apps you need to sideload. You can use sideload launcherfound in the regular Google Store on the Nvidia Shield to open it because I think by default once you sideload APK pure it doesn't include a nice little app Store icon for the app row but there are ways to create it yourself. If you need to know how to create a sideloaded app icon you can put in your app bro let me know. There are two really effective ways.
Hamburger is on Aurora app store. just follow his instructions to install aurora. you will find hamburger there :)

So it seems all of the features you talk about in this video are not compatible with the 2015 - 2017 model I am unable to do any of these. Sadly.
Upgraded firmware may of disabled mods for 1st gen.

install Aurora first and spoof there. The video is good but the gentleman goes through too fast :) I also thought spoofing is on the normal google play store, it turned out you need Aurora :)

Hi, How do I stop Google play protect automatically deleting UkTurks App? It gives no option to delete or disable gpp so I disabled Google Play Store and it still won't install UKTurks app! Google 🖕🤬🤬😡😡

I have both & both are good. The Shield is faster & can do more.
Thought about getting the formular z11 but shield pro is a tried and proven device , depends on what your using it for there’s a lot of cheaper options out there “except the any Amazon device even cube 3 “ there pushing bs updates removing apps hence move , think I should of got shield cylinder as I don’t play any games on it , usual 3rd party apps we all enjoy
