I think I've gained a bit of appreciation for my weights. It's obvious that somebody had to make them but I've never actually thought about it. Thanks man.
Ironic that many factory workers especially here in Asia don't actually go to the gym or have time to go to the gym, let alone own gym equipment. Many of them are underpaid and overworked, working typically 12 hours daily at barely minimum wage.
These weights are exactly the weights I have, and I am very satisfied with them. Really great! Never thought I would come across this video. Nice to see. Good job!
And this type of plate is sold 100~120 euros here in France. This poor dude probably gets paid 1/1000 of that amount per produced disc, altho he is oblviously destroying his body wearing no protective equipment whatsoever and carrying around heavy charges all day long...
Maybe, though also maybe not as he doesn't lift to form as done in the gym. There are many I know who are strong in one way or the other but can't lift weights in the gym because they're not trained for it, and so they would still struggle even if they're used to lifting in other ways.
I'm out here looking for a tutorial video on how to add rubber coating to my weight plates at home. After watching this video.. That's not going to happen lol.
It's hilarious all the people commenting they miss the gym but when it was open very few people even look like they lift. Ever notice that? Easily 99% of people waste their time going to the gym and can stay in the SAME shape working out at home with basic exercises.
True. But in the U.S. a skilled manufacturing machinist can make 70k-100k. How much do we wanna pay for rubber plates? I can guarantee that gentleman is NOT making 70k. Don't worry, Capitalists have a short memories.
Thats wrong, this video shows how mistaken you were. Dipping only works for a very thin layer, if you keep repeating that very often to make the layer thicker it will not be evenly distributed.
@@eric4681702 Calm down, whats with the autistic clap back you got going on there? Its a rational assumption for anyone that doesn't manufacture rubber plates.

Interesting. I kinda knew that some ruber plates are made manually. This explains the difference of the ruber coating of each weight plate. Usually when a product is made in industrial mass production by machines each produced item of that line looks the same, but it is not the case with ruber plates.

And this is why we can't beat the Chinese. Looks like he's making them either at home or in a small shed. There seems to be Zero OHS being observed. There's NO guards on the machines, no apparent safety gear apart from some gardening gloves and an apron. No ventilation to remove toxic fumes, no respirator being worn. Imagine if you tried to do this in your garage at home. You'd have every ass wipe government interference to stop you from doing it. Free enterprise doesn't exist unless you fork out ridiculous amounts of money on compliance with bullshit regulations designed to STOP you from participating in the dream. Without that you're beaten before you even get to the starting line. Of course we CAN'T compete.....
I agree with most of that, but I'm confused as to what "dream" you are referring to? Is making weight plates in your garage, and doing it in unsafe conditions and for almost no pay, your dream?
I am sure this is the guy working in the same factory that makes a variety of companies' plates. The only difference is the branding and the price. Example, I bought some unbranded generic 20kg plates for 65 quid (pair) from a shop called Argos. 65 quid equates to about 90 US dollars. Another company, Mirafit, is selling the same 20kg plates for 120 quid with 5 quid delivery. Almost double!
