    • @vfnsp
      @vfnsp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right, the Yorkville does seem to get louder. I love the sound of the Yorkville, but I think the way they get the higher volume is by limiting the low end, when you go past a certain point. At that point, if it’s all mids and highs, having more volume isn’t really useful. Still, at medium volume, it sounds better than the JBL.

      I also wanted to look at the comparison. In the meantime, I will show my amateur video about how Everse 8 is used in practice in urban street performances. I'll ask you a question at the same time ! Maybe someone knows - Which of the 8-inch or 6.5-inch battery-powered speakers can produce sounds in such an urban area near or at a great distance. Like, for example, Everse 8 in the street version? When a backing vocalist with a speaker is both nearby and from afar, his music and voice can be clearly heard at a distance of 200 meters and even further in the fifth minute of this video th-cam.com/video/yoybdtGrRm4/w-d-xo.html What else could be similar to Everse 8? There is no need for the compact Jbl EON One. I have been using it for 3 years and have already sold it because it is twice as weak in volume as Everse 8. You can hear it clearly here in the short 1.5 minute story th-cam.com/video/OMPkPStMgo4/w-d-xo.html The speaker should be loud, compact and lightweight so that the musician can transport it on a special trolley (this is also seen in the video). Will the Bose S1 Pro Plus be enough on such a city street th-cam.com/video/uJeYJNi0bb8/w-d-xo.html Where is another musician playing guitar and singing in Everse 8? Thank you in advance!

    Ok man so your review is what made me decide to pick up the Yorkville’s. I also picked up one of the subs too (and may pick up another as well). These things sound amazing. I keep them at around 12’ clock and have been running them for a month now at my weekly karaoke event. They’re loud and really bring out the vocals (which is not always a great thing for karaoke lol). The sub is ok. I have to crank it all the way up to get some decent bass (it’s dual 8’s, it’s not like it’s a 15 or 18, so that’s why I am thinking about adding another sub). Another factor for the sub is that I have been running it as a single channel (left with a cable) and it is equipped with left and right inputs and outputs, so there is a stereo option there. I also picked up a Behringer battery powered mixer and a Denon DJ Prime Go as well. If you plan to do any outside events that you don’t want/or can’t run power too, this is the setup. Can’t speak for any other battery powered setups, but I can say for 100% positive, the Yorkvilles sound amazing. Yes, I paid for them, and NO! I didn’t receive them for free, or get paid to post this. Although, some free covers would go a long way haha.

    This complicates things, I was pretty decided on getting the JBL, but the side by side comparison kinda shocked me. I think the Yorkville sounds better (from what I can tell in a TH-cam vid 😉)! I also noticed the clearly superior sounding reverb on the vocal test, I am hoping that is due to a poor choice of settings and that the JBL has something better to offer. But wow did it sound cheap in this test. Very unexpected. I would hate to give up the interchangeable battery and the better mixing section, so I don’t know what to do! Thanks for the side by side comparison. I doubt I can find a shop in my area that has them both in stock to try these days.

    • @DjNinesworld
      @DjNinesworld  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Im sure if i played around with the EQs and effects more on the JBL i can help it from sounding muddy like in the video. I just can't deny that the Yorkville sounded so much better with everything flat though. Its a tough choice but you will be happy with either one honestly. Thanks for watching!

    Try the sound test again but instead of using the phone for the volume adjustment leave it at around 90%-95% and start with the main volume turned down on the speaker. Then raise the speaker volume to 33%, 50%, 75% etc.. I have iloud monitors and they are finicky about their levels but when set right can get loud and not clip. I have an Eon one compact coming tomorrow so I will try it both ways to see if there is a difference.

    Hey there... I'm curious as to what level your iPhone (sound source) was set at for this test? Because if it was at 100%, that's no bueno! In this video you said the jbl compact looks like the same cabinet as yorkville. What have you done for covers on exm. Jbl has quite a few out there for compact. Just point this out you can get USB cables that can power 2 wireless mics....Put them on top and control them with the app and run your music using your tablet....The Yorkville does not do that....I can live with the less dbs for functionality of the JBL....That is your entire ceremony system on a speaker pole....

      Yup thats exactly how i use the JBL eon one compact! I have the 5v to 12v usb upconverter and plug it into the JBL and im gold with 2 wireless mics. And then i control my music with my iPad pro. Easy peasy

    I was about to comment that the Yorkville clearly sounds better even through whatever you're recording this on. All of the JBL fancy whistles are moot since it sounds way worse. To me, it sounds like the JBL has a weird boost at 1k and not enough 2-2.5k making it sound hollow, which is a super unpleasant sound IMO. Also, the base on the Yorkville sounded pretty clean as well, but I'll have to hear it in person to really tell.

    Have a nice time 👋 I shot a 7-minute video last night th-cam.com/video/1s07SFKkJt4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pkCiacf83fxzUPcO Portable power station AllPowers S200, working with Roland Cube Street Ex, JBL Eon One Compact, Everse 8 amplifiers. Test No. 1 with normal volume for a room of 25 square meters. Everse 8 consumes the most electricity. Roland usually has a value of 0 at this volume. It was not possible to increase the volume due to family circumstances. It is planned to shoot another video with a higher volume, starting with the Roland Cube. It is necessary to find out from what level the electricity consumption from the power plant will begin. And compare it to speakers with a higher volume. How much energy they consume and how many hours the power plant will last. I bought it specifically as a backup power source for charging from 220 volts at my street performances. 👍
