Buddy I put a doubler kit in my 1969 Chevy 1Ton 4x4 20 years ago!! I also did a full rebuild on the front Dana60 and rear 14 bolt with all new bearings, ring and pinion 4.56 gears and all new breaks and ARB air lockers both front and rear!!! For the doubler I went with the SM465 manual tranny with a custom 32 spline output shaft to a 203 gear box and a 205 transfer case!!! Definitely the best setup ever!! I just got done with building a new 421 sbc all forged internals and a full roller setup!! I was able to get everything dialed in on the dyno stand!! When running it on the dyno stand and getting everything setup all right it was just shy of 700HP and the torque was as high as the HP threw out the run and would go over the HP in the top end!! I was definitely happy and the guy that ran the dyno said he hadn’t seen one do that good before!! Also I am running the AFR aluminum heads in the 227 or 235!! I can’t remember right off hand witch ones that I ended up getting right off hand!! I’m also running 39” boggers but would definitely like to go bigger since I have plenty of room with the 13” lift that I also installed!!! I just got some body work to do now and get it painted!!! Awesome video buddy and I definitely didn’t no that they had a doubler setup for the Toyota’s!!! I actually had a Toyota but my dad ended up selling it!!! I definitely love my full-size truck!! I definitely would probably look better in a Toyota instead of a full size truck since I’m only 4’11” tall and 105 to 110lbs!!! Lol!! I definitely loved seeing this video of yours and it was the first one of yours I had seen!!! I’ll definitely be watching plenty more though for sure!!!
@27:56 of this video I wanna say that I'm glad I found your channel. I'm a fabricator yet no one is perfect. You guys show your not perfect but humble and get it done. I would say your choice of beer sucks. Try Bud Select " The black can"! it's the bomb. Your an inspiration that I needed. Except the will to sweat my ass of in 100+ degree weather in the shade with fans. I'm looking forward to completing the video. Day and night. Dammit. I used to do that. I'm 49.75 years old and just lack the will power. Hopefully this video will help. It would be nice if I had friends that help and not just always take.
@ 41:36 While working for Texas Pride Trailers I needed a fast way to remove the drums and seals. I made those adapter tools to fit those big nuts. I used a nut and .25 mild steel and welded it together as a spanner wrench. I flapped disked all the welds and over 100 people including upper management thought I bought it. I made two of them.
Awesome video! I’ve passed your truck a few times around town and apparently finishing your towing test. The wrap on the Tacoma works. I’m new to off-roading just purchasing my first Jeep a few weeks ago, and stoked I found your channel. Looking forward to seeing your post-Rubicon content.

Very entertaining video and as someone whose been slowly learning to wrench on my own vehicle this was informative as well! Keep up the great work and have fun on the Rubicon. Cant wait for that video!
Always a PITA to install transmission/doubler/transfer case in one piece. I do the transmission first and then install the cases; makes it easier without all of the weight.
Thought I recognized around where you were in another video, I used to live in west covina and in upland now. Doubler with the 40s on that thing is sick
Dude! Stumbled on your videos looking to piece together knowledge on my first idea of doing a 4x conversion on my '75 Hilux... Looks like you're local too! If you're down, I'd like to tip some beers with you to pick your brain on suppliers and whatever lessons learned you can share... Cheers!
Damn that was a long ass video I remember working on my Yoda changing the hubs and so forth now it’s a classic sitting in my garage great job can’t wait to see it out there
O yeah you brought up towing .I literally have to have a custom trailer because I'm on dually hubs and offset wheels I literally have to buy a trailer then add 6 inches to each side and have 44s on as well . Front axle is 77 inches wide with out wheels on
@@66Duffman I cut like 2 angle Peace's out of a bed frame I believe like almost 2 foot long drilled a hole in it the size of one wheel stud then bolted it to wheel mounting surfing both sides 77 inches that's how I lined up my cross over steering seen some off-road company make there own and sell them .
Good job! Glad to see you took my advice on taking care of the front end axle seals and other misc. You are going to need it on the Rubicon. I want to suggest that you do not "send it" at the Rubicon with your new set-up for Winchers. You have more than enough crawl ratio in Low-Low to get over any obstacle that isn't a buggy line or doesn't need rear steer. Good luck and have fun! Also, who is driving the DN Taco?
Thanks for watching! Definitely looking to send it less than usual with this truck…DN taco is just towing won’t be running the rubicon unless I break winchers lmao
Hey I’m looking for some input on my build, I have a 22r, l45 trans with dual cases, and I keep bending the rear output shaft in the t case, brand new Tom woods double cardan driveshaft, pinion pointed at t case, no binding of the cv at full droop, the nut for the flange did come loose once and I drove it like that for a few days till it got bad enough that I noticed. Not sure if that would bend it? Engine is “bullet proof” mounts and the t cases have factory rubber mounts, would that bend it? I’m so lost on this
Honestly if you do the necessary research and are working with somebody good at welding then it really isn’t that hard…very straight forward for a big project If recommended check out our full SAS video on this truck th-cam.com/video/Vi2dGEvhcUI/w-d-xo.html
Hell yeah Dustin! love the channel. Kinda off topic, but any idea why an upper shackle bolt at the leafs wouldnt torque down to spec? I installed some RXT leafs opt 1 and my passenger side wouldnt torque down... I think I overnighted it bc the bolt sticks out about a 1/4" farther then the driver sides upper shackle bolt... Im putting some 5160's on this weekend and will be inspecting it... I was thinking maybe a shitty torque wrench (new decently rated from amazon) thanks man 🤘
@@66Duffman dude I actually figured it out... the leaf pack was delivered with the incorrect eyelet spacer... the new one shock surplus exchanged it with had the correct spacer and it torqued down immediately. thx for the response , love the vids 🤟🏼
Looking good the only thing I gotta say is retire that DeWalt impact go get the brushless one it don't give me shit with 7/8s lug nuts .even used that same 20 max battery .
Polyurethane bushes aren't to bad on your motor mounts or gearbox mounts just DONT use them in your suspension, one good hit and they shatter. I don't use polyurethane on anything if I can help it. They tell you there good but in reality they only last a 10th of the original, and any decent impact.....BOOM. they shatter like glass.
Always cool to see all the sweat, blood, and tears that go into our rigs not just the shenanigans that are normally seen.
Agreed 💯
