the reason you kept breaking ring and pinions on the toyota 3rd was beca of the chevy 63” springs. when running those springs you need to have traction bars to prevent any axle wrap. its the axle wrap thats taking the ring and pinion out. had the same problem on my old yota that had the same springs. put traction bars on it and never broke a ring and pinion again.
I agree and disagree here…axle wrap definitely contributes to busting a ring but stingily believe I would still break em considering how I drive with doublers and a v6
I drove on a Lincoln Locker for around 30,000 miles, on the street and offroad with my 96 XJ, actually broke the welds lose , and rewelded it and kept driving it, it was a lot of fun trying to make turns in Manhattan! ! Would put my rear wheel on a curb and whip the turns! It would chirp around turns, it looked funny!
this is a very common axle swap for anyone serious about going off road. I would say that this will work well for almost any 4x4. To anyone who is thinking about doing this keep in mind that those lower shock tabs are on backwards but that will work just fine
Nice. I'm about to buy a 2007 14 bolt 10.5in; still looking for the D60, and still have to save some more money to regear and install both axles on my 4runner. The guy i bought it from put 40s and dual cases on it, but on stock toyota axles.
Great to see this back up and running once again. If you need any help with axles and what not plus possible transfer cases I can definitely help ya Dustin.

Not sure if you did but weld the axle tubes to the center section so the pumpkin can’t spin

Thank you 🙏🏻 you have a shop?
@@66Duffman I do on the east coast but I can refer to a few on the west coast thru some friends of mine if needed.
Good stuff for sure. One thing cool about me, my truck came stock with a Dana 60.
That’s what’s up 🔥
Idk 14bolt spool might be a cheaper then welding via cost of welder an wire ;) lol
now all you need is a 8 lug chevy axle in the front. I bet a 10 bolt with 8 lug and open spider gears would work well or better than that toyota diff
Hey man
Trying to get my hands on a 14 bolt myself
Can you tell me where you got yours?
Check out 909slim on Instagram
Why didn’t you re gear when the axle was out?
Parts weren’t available at the time…and I expected it to be a slow step by step process
Time for some new wrenching pants hahaha
Yeah that was the last run for those 😂
Time for a 60 for the front
If I can find a decent one under 1500 maybe I will 😂
@Dirtnation Offroad They're out there, just sucks you have to use a Chevy low pinion, you'll find one, hopefully a kingpin
😂😂😂 Dana axles...
