For me it's "he's my brother" PSA. Where a guy gives his friend a hug in rehab. Many other PIFS/PSAS tell you if you don't stop your friend from doing drugs, then your doing nothing or something like that. This one is more realistic in it's voiceover: if you can't keep someone off drugs, at least you tried and there's no shame in that. And they don't put down his friend either. You see it in his face and in their hug: he wants help and misses what once was. No calling him names or calling him stupid. He's human and made human mistakes.
Yeah rehab is absolutely another one I could have put in this video
@@Zach.R a few others come to mind:
1. The one that shows 2 babies in a nursery and says "this one time it doesn't matter who your neighbor is". Then it shows all kinds of things like the KKK, Nazis and all kinds of crazy stuff then a long scream. Then it cuts to a grave yard zoom of two tombstones and the narration says "here's another: stop the hate."
2. One with Suzie I believe her name was. It shows her empty dark bedroom with trophy's and awards and a narration saying her parents taught everything but one important lesson: drugs. It then shows an ambulance leaving slowly with it's lights off and we all know what happened to her. It pushes that anyone can get hooked on drugs even the most "wholesome" people.
3. Terris "tips from a former smoker" ads. You don't see them anymore and while popular at one time no one mentions them anymore. They did not shy away from showing the real damage smoking causes. Bless her for doing that to keep people from starting. They did a few with her and she got progressively worse in each one as her cancer spread. real life there and that's as terrifying as it gets
A underrated PSA for me is ‘I Am Anxiety’ by BeyondBlue from Australia. As someone who has really high anxiety it describes having anxiety really well and the main actor’s acting is really good.
Fully agree, that conveys it amazingly well and the actor being the personification of Anxiety only brings more of the truth to it because I even get that anxious build-up from him addressing each point due to how menacingly dark he is.
Definitely agree with child safety and stove. Would also add "how to perform a disappearing act" by sandy hook promise, and maybe the lessons from my neighborhood psa about hunger. Great video.👍
Me: Mmm I like mac and cheese. Me 3 seconds later: Geezus holy fk.
dude the yes mum psa made my heart beat so fast 10/10 would not watch again
the 'yes mum' psa reminded me of a bit of advice from another video, and thats if you're trapped in a car thats filling up with water, you can pull the headrest off the seats and use them to break the windows, at least on most models I believe.
God Yes Mum ALWAYS sends such dread thought my heart 😭 I think the first time I saw it I started tearing up a little
Another hit of a PSA collection video the Nathan one is a good warning about faffing about with things you shouldn't fuck with
Also i can resonate with ths Samaritan's psa's
Especially scream....
Okay but can we all collectively agree that the venomosity psas are absolutely horror movie material.
Like, the idea of a parasitic disease caused by tobacco addiction that causes its hosts to develop mutant like extremities, has telepathic communication AND slowly poisons it's host until they're dead would be such a cool body horror concept and, to quote me when I saw those psas for the first time, "metal as frick"
Nathan is really scary and so really does get the message across as Zach indicates.
The other one for me would be the Grim Reaper Aids campaign from 1987.
A really good compilation as always Zach.
I love the nathan psa(i was the one who suggested it) because like Zach said, it doesn't shy away from anything and tells the issue like it is
the first one killed me, it was the car crash at the end
17:23 Wow! Supported by the CEO of Accidents
Nobody really talks about the PSA. Eye Candy by the consumer safety institute.
Yeah they mostly don't, I have a few times though in the past
@@Zach.R it’s good we can agree on something
Damn mf nick fury talking about taking Accountability😁
glad to see venomocity on this list. Seriously, it's an underrated campaign.
100% agree with the earlier PSAs of ‘Truth’ being on there. Some very inventive campaigns, some other really cool ones are the ‘Infect truth’ or ‘Welcome to Crazyworld’ campaigns from Truth. I also think that the early years of THINK! road safety in the UK (for example the Christmas campaign with the Christmas songs over the accident footage) are totally underrated due to the more recent poor campaigns. Another great video as usual, and very enjoyable to see a campaign I hadn’t seen in an ‘underrated’ list (the Stove one), cheers!
Yes mom literally had my jaw drop ): holy shit
dont remember where i first saw it but that psa about anorexia has stuck with me for a while
18:53 Why is the suicide hotline number BOOBZ??
A PSA that it's also underrated is “How to make a homemade bomb” by Sandy Hook Promise. I saw this only ONCE in a top 10 scariest mental health PSAs. The PSA itself is more about how social media and the pandemic affected people and rose the quantity of depressed teenagers. The format is similar to an instructional video (with a step to step transition) and the edition is really well made. I think it delivers the message well and is pretty much realistic.
It’s surprised me how three PSAs I saw done by TAC exist in another form in other countries. Of course the Haunted one in the UK, but two others were done in either Hong Kong or Singapore. One is Glass where it shows the empty beer glasses coming onto the screen as a car is driving. One after the other until the car crashes. The PSA in the other country ends there, but TAC prolonged it by having some early morning workers find the wreck and call for an ambulance, and then shows someone crying as the driver is taken away either in critical condition or dead (it’s been a LONG time since I saw that one but it was the standard of the 90s.)
The other showed someone being hit by a car and a trauma surgeon talking about the damage done when driving 5kms over, showing the bodily impact in slow motion to demonstrate. And it then shows that if the driver had gone 5kms UNDER, they would have stopped in time and the worst the pedestrian would get would probably be a fright.
I'm happy to see your new PSA coming from you I wouldn't mind seeing more PSA videos they're my favorites.
your channel is so underrated i always love the videos you post!
Take your time to upload video zach we care about you so if you don’t get burnout that would be nice
the nathan one screwed me up that music is nauseating
Really glad to see Mirror here. I'm shocked at the number of PSA ranking lists I've seen that never include it. I remember seeing it as a kid, and it always really stuck with me. It's such a gut punch and helps put into perspective the gravity of anorexia.
On the subject of eating disorder PSAs, I always personally liked ones from the Looking Glass Foundation. I know of three in particular I remembered seeing years ago. The one with the girl checking her weight and writing it down after swimming always stuck with me for some reason. I recently went on a deep dive to find the PSA here on TH-cam (I did indeed find it and the other two). Nobody ever seems to talk about them, but I always liked them personally.
I love your videos ☺️❤️
Thank you!
Here's my opinions on these PSAs
(all of these have good messages i don't condem them for that it's just how it's executed or feel about them)
Booster Seat: Car go YEET! That all aside though it's a okay psa.
Blame: O_O, oh my god. That was actually good. I don't like gun violence either.
Nathan: Heartbreaking ngl. Poor Nathan man... But there was a train accident near my school and people were heartbroken about it.
Mirror: I can relate, I sort of have an eating disorder with health and nutrition and crap. I don't find this underrated though.
Stove: 👍. not bad! I feel bad for the people who had to go through stove abuse.
Anybody Out There?/Scream: 100% Relatable
We're not Candy: "This is serious!" jokes aside, this has became a meme overtime and is funny af.
Venomocity: Oh dear lord, venom is making kids smoke!
Truth: The first and thrid psas you played are very good! why does tobacco exist? I don't understand the cowboy one tbh. though truth has decayed overtime. (i never liked smoking anyway because of my asthma)
Mum: The twist at the end is heartbreaking man. This is why we don't get drunk!
Anti-Suicide: I feel him sometimes man. Anyways, here's the number for suicide prevention - 988
Cemetery: I don't think this one is underrated. Though the twist is nice.
Haunted: Poor guy... You feel for the driver in this one and the kid. Then truth did a silimiar psa where the kid is just lying on the floor everywhere.
plz take your time, you can do it
also i know some underrated psas, there was one with a tagline that said "you can't see them, but they can see you." I don't see people talk about those psas.

th-cam.com/video/TgPtZ27l5jM/w-d-xo.html
I almost couldn't watch the Nathan one I think it was actually scary gets the message clear across
I used to always see the child safety PSA a lot
For me its the Ad Council Singing Pills and the DOE CAN YOU LIVE WITH A SHAME because the Singing Pills is very catchy and creative and the DOE can you live with a shame is if that one PSA WHEN THE CAR CRASHES AN ENTIRE CLASS OF KIDS
If what?
the venomocity psa has the same vibes as the NHS get unhooked psa
AWWWEEESSOMEE!!
The most underrated PSAs IMHO are PSAs about autism. The only one that really gets any discussion, for all the wrong reasons, is “I Am Autism,” but the National Autism Society in the UK came out with some great ones.
that one is so funny purely because it makes out autism to be this awful horrible terrifying thing that's worse than cancer and that it possesses you, but in reality it's like... no.... it's just a neurodevelopmental condition that wires your brain differently dawg :P
as an autistic person, its my best guess that psas on autism aren’t talked about because VERY few of them are actually good. the only ones i personally know of were all made by autism speaks and other similar organizations and are outright disrespectful
@@nickythehickey I am autistic too, and I know several PSAs that are great, such as by the National Autism Society in the UK as I mentioned and Rethinking Autism. I also found a few good ones digging through Love the PIF and Bryan Eff’s channels. Try looking them up.
Bro the actor for Pee-wee Herman died the only way I know him is because of the PSA so that’s why I’m saying this 💀
Same lol my dad brought him up yesterday
In America we don't have psa's anymore.
Hey Zach love your vids but I do have to say this if you cannot upload every Friday then don't worry about it take some time and don't go into burnout ok?
At this point I don't even have the choice of uploading every Friday because of full time work
I personally think the Biggie Bear psas are underrated. They rarely turn up on lists,I mean don’t get me wrong they’re messed up,and really don’t get to the point they’re trying to make, but honestly they’re still underrated.
Samuel L Jackson: Blame everyone but yourself....
Me: No
