Everything is all twisted and snagged up and all I use is the delicate settings!! It mangles clothes and leaves them beyond wrinkled- virtually creased
The water level switch needs to be small,medium,large and super. Not this stupid auto sensing and deep fill.

Does the lid have to be closed for the water to turn on? I like to pour detergent in while the water is running, then rinse the cap. Same with fabric softener.
I just moved into an apt that has this washing machine installed already and I’m trying to figure that out as well. It doesn’t seem like I can do that though 😩

I just bought this set a week ago. About a year and half ago made a huge mistake buying a kenmore front loading set from sears. Dryer failed would shut off all the time. Washer would not clean cloths i would have to hand wash em then put in the washer. Called sears many times nothing. After spending 1,600.00 on that pile of crap. I wanted a normal washer and still paying off old ones. I bought these on sale for 299.99 each. I couldnt be happier cloths go in dirty come out clean. dryer drys wow. Only thing i dont like is even on the auto sense load still seems to use a lot of water. I knew my water bill gonna go back up with these. Am i missing something?

If the wash is going through a cycle can you pause the machine and lift the lid to add more clothes at anytime?

this washer gets stuck on wash cycle or sometimes rinse but I think it's because we have poor water pressure at home we have a well system😢
How do you get the machine to pause? I pushed the button that says pause but it still wouldn't unlock. I want to use liquid fabric softener.

If only if this was a direct drive with a rinse dispenser it would be a great washer that many people will want to buy over the HE ones. I still remember the old Amanas where it was basically the same as the speed queens

You can just buy a fabric softener dispenser for this washer.
@@Tunz909 It is true commercial grade. Have you tried Whirlpool's MVWP575GW. IT's a little bit lesser quality than the Speed Queen. But I think it looks nicer, and has better features.
Where on earth do we put the liquid soap on the NTW4516FW3 model!? I'm a single male and always used pods but I was given 2 gallons of liquid detergent and I can't figure out where to put it??? Thanks!

I love this washer but it has a habit of locking the lid when the cycle is done, any reason why that happens?
It locks at the end of the cycle sometimes bc of a child lockfeature, on some cycles, the lid will lock after it's done. All you have to do is press the start/stop button to unlock it

NTW4516FW doesn't have a soap dispensor, and you're supposed to use HE detergent, which you can't just pour on your clothes.
Liquid detergent is made to go directly on clothes. I used mine all the time for stain pretreatment
That is not true. HE liquid detergent is perfectly fine to be poured on clothes, because it can be used as a stain pre-treat. I do this all the time with no damage to my clothes.
Where do add liquid detergent?
You add the detergent inside the tub before adding clothes. Don't overload the machine. It will decrease the lifespan of the machine if you overload it. Clean once a month with hot water and washing machine cleaner.
How can i keep my lid open so i can watch it wash my clothes like the video showed, cuz i tried to keep it open but the lid stayed locked , so how can i bypass it, i have the same washer that's in this video.
Unscrew the 2 screws on the part that goes into the lock and unscrew them. Place the two part the lock together and I will think the lid is shut

DON'T Ever add softener. It’ll actually cause damage to your machine. It builds up underneath the tub. Also when using detergent, You don’t need that much like where it says on the fill line in the cup. You only need 2 Tbsp.
I have this Amana washer machine, BUT doesn’t have the softener dispenser, how can I replace the dispenser?
It’s the circle thing in the middles you just take it off and put the softener inside

This was a gift so I'll take it and use it, but would never recommend purchasing. Loads take FOREVER! There is no easy way to pause a cycle for adding clothes or fabric softener. The dryer, also less than a year old, takes two cycles to fully dry jeans and towels. I take large loads to the laundromat.

can you take the top off the agitator and add fabric softener in there? it comes off easily

I have the top load Amana with agitator - there is no where to put fabric softener - when you try to pause (which mine does not work the majority of the time) it drains all the water. If I add fabric softener at that point - it does not rinse the clothes - I don't have a manual.

I have a Whirlpool with a cap on the agitator where softner would normally go (just the one in this video). I pulled it off and followed the instructions on the washer lid which says to measure and pour in softner, fill with warm water to cross section....it all runs out into the tub in the wash cycle. Are you suppose to buy softner cups separately or something because when I add softner to the wash it rinses out, if I add it during rinse fill cycle it stains the clothes.

Very unhappy with my new Amana washer! Corporate rep told me Rudely “NO” you will not get your money back!
Purchase the Amana front load washer 2 months ago and the pump to drain wouldn't shut off so we had to unplug, but the door was locked and no easy way to open. Soonest the could get us a service person was 1 week later. when he plugged it in pump kept running and as he was fiddling inside he arced something and blew the motherboard out. Now the week before Christmas and cant get a new board installed for 2 - 3 weeks. 500.00 worth of clothes ruined with mildew and no one at whirlpool or the Brick will do anything about it. Now worried if this is going to happen again. Anyone else have this problem?
I really like my old-school style (that actually fills all the way up with water!) top loading Amana washer. From like 2013-14. But now it is leaving brown marks on clothing. Makes it look like chocolate got on the clothes. I had to take some items to a dry cleaner who ran them 3 times to finally get the stains out (I had NOT put them in the dryer). Help?!
Have you tried Affresh to clean out your machine, it helps prevent this mold build up.
You're using too much detergent and have build up. Get a guy to come clean everything
Bought this machine model in Nov 2017, by Jan 2018 the water valve leaked and needed a service call to replace. My question is, How do you get the machine to go into a 2nd spin cycle if the clothes just washed still feel wet? I called tech support at Amana, they said the dial inaccurately makes you think the options at the bottom of the dial work, well they said they don't for this model. Have you tried to get the machine to cycle just on spin NTW4516FW
Hello! Your model has a rinse and spin or a drain and spin cycle that can be ran in the event that another spin cycle is needed. Just pour soap in your machine before you add your clothes. Add clothes then start your washing machine.
this washer sucks I brought it Feb 28 and already having problems sometimes washer be running but no light sometimes it don't want to spin sometimes I have to unplug then plung n press start

I have ordered a fabric softener dispenser for an Amana NTW4516FW1 and it's here from Whirlpool. It would appear I have to remove the agitator cap and put the dispenser on. Correct?

I thought this was supposed to have an aggressive agitator??? Aren't there any left anymore? These new agitators don't get clothes clean!
This isn't like the old school direct drive washers that you're thinking about... those days are gone. But this is the closest thing to them if you're not gonna buy a Speed Queen.

@@jamesorsby7553 It looks exactly like a direct drive agitator but if you hear it agitate it will definitely sound a lot different.
@@homeguestunton That's because it's a different type of wash system. It's not the short, quick agitator strokes that you get with direct drive washers. But at least with this machine, you get a full tub of water for the wash and rinse cycles, and it came with a true dual action agitator, and not the fake, one piece dual action agitator that doesn't really force the clothes down to the bottom of the tub where the cleaning action takes place.

Put detergent in bottom before you start it. The detergent rises up by agitator, I think.
I've never read directions about anything in my life! Maybe I'll read my Amana washing machine directions given all the questions I'm reading. Is it really that difficult and mysterious? Jeepers!

My washer doesn't allow me to open it while it's going. I hate putting dry clothes in and just dumping detergent on top, it doesn't get clean. I've stuck a screw driver in the locking mechanism to keep the lid open, but the auto sensing just drains the water. Is there anyway around this, especially to disable the locking mechanism while it's washing?
We do apologize that you're not completely happy with your Washers features. Unfortunately, the lid lock mechanism is a safety feature we are required to have on all of our Washers and cannot be disabled. We can suggest using an HE detergent pod though. Simply toss it in first and load clothes on top. The pod will not dissolve until water is introduced. We hope this helps!
I figured that might be possible because, you know, the video shows the washer being used while the lid is open. Thanks for the suggestion though. I'll give those pods a whirl and see, thanks.

Never!!! The machine doesn't work that well in the first place... just bought mine this week, and I hate it I may have to have it picked back up and returned it's the most an efficient machine I have ever owned

I just received my machine today and have to say, I am thoroughly UNIMPRESSED. I had to wash a black pair of pants 3 times to get powdered detergent and lint off of them that didn't rinse off the first 2 times (with less than 1 TBSP of detergent). My towels on bulky setting are VERY wet going into the dryer. Not. Impressed. At. All.
The new washers you have too put the powder in first then clothes so you don't have that issue
Always wash with warm water. Add detergent first, then clothes, don't overload.

I bought one and I was the worst ever
I have had this wash machine for over 9 months . My very best review of it? TOTAL JUNK. Listen, this machine tears clothes. This is an Amana, but, Whirlpool builds this one, and the problem is, the agitator sits about 3'8 of an inch above the base of the tub. This allows clothes to get caught under the agitator while in motion, and, it often tears clothes. I have had a nearly new sport shirt torn, we've had two tee towels torn, a nice wash cloth, my wife's blouse. You can forget about getting ahold of Amana, they do not return phone calls, they do not respond to e-mails. The hot water will not operate in the "Normal" mode, you need to turn it to "Heavy" then hot will come in, then, you turn it back to "Normal" We have had two circuit boards, one selector switch installed, all within 3 months of ownership. Spend a little more money and get a quality wash machine. Avoid the NTW4516FW . There are much better quality units than this one. There are only 2 of us, so it is not abused in any way.

I just bought one and installed it yesterday. I haven't used it yet, but I hear people say the Amana is great and is badically a Whirlpool, but the appliance guy said it was similar to the now defunct maytag. I'm perplexed. Others say its terrible. Jeepers.

I agree it is a very stupid washer it just has a mind of its own and quits mid cycle and leaves your clothes very wet. And why did they say oh well be happy if you email us it's all garbage.
I hate HE machines with a passion. They take 3 days for one load and still don't smell clean. That vent out of the way. I want to add Lysol Laundry Sanitizer and it says to add to fabric softener dispenser, but I don't seem to have one. Tired of checking the machine all the time to find when the final rinse is on to pour that stuff in. Is there a dispenser I can't find?

don't bother with their horrible chat customer service… every answer is "hard reset" and then "schedule a service". I gave my serial number and model number twice, had my son and husband double check i typed correctly, and they still told me it wasn't a valid serial number. all that took 37 minutes.

@@stephennielsen2134 hi, I meant to answer you days ago. The machine is ok. It takes some getting used to. One thing I’ll say is that if you plan on using liquid fabric softener, you may want to turn the dial to the “extra rinse” selection. Deep water wash and auto-sensing fill the barrel with the same amount of water if you select the “Regular” wash option.

Does anybody no how to get the lid unlocked when it locks by itself. With no clothes in it I have a lot of clicking but still can't get the washer to run
Hi Joseph, we're sorry to hear about the problem with the Washer. We would recommend doing a reset on the Washer as this would bring the Washer to its original factory settings. You would need to disconnect the power from the Washer at the breaker for 2-5 minutes. Then power the Washer back on and this should unlock the door. If it continues to be locked, we would suggest contacting us as it may need to have a local certified technician service the unit. Thank you for reaching out to us!
This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. It totally destroyed a crocheted baby blanket that I spent months making, the clothes are way too wet when the wash is done. I would not recommend the washer EVER!
