      For each increase row, we increase by 2 only, correct? Beginning with 3 (that was initially casted on) then 5,7,9,11,13,15,17…. Is this right?

    hi so um. for some reason. and im pretty sure i followed all your instructions. for some reason when i had finished knitting the bandana it came out looking like a ruffled clown collar. do you have any idea why this would happen??? i don’t know too much about knitting beyond the basics

  • @lmrlmr9
    @lmrlmr9 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    i’ve been trying to do this but i don’t understand how row 2 works- after i knit the first one, i don’t get how to knit the other one (the added knit). i’ve tried so many times and i can’t understand how you get it to work. how do you do the knit with the added ones in row two?

    • @mena_makes
      @mena_makes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey! Do you mean the step at 4:00 of the video? It's a bit tricky because you need to insert the needle through the back part of the stitch rather than the front (as you normally would). I'm just wondering if your stitch looks the same as mine does before you work it? If not, maybe there is a problem with the yarn over increase from the previous row.

    • @lmrlmr9
      @lmrlmr9 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mena_makes im pretty sure i’m inserting it in the right place, but when i take the yarn to knit it and bring it over to the other needle, i don’t really get the mechanism right. like i don’t know how to bring it over to the other side- does that make sense? are you knitting it but just doing it from the back?

    • @lmrlmr9

    I hold my working yarn with my left hand and so everything Is backwards to me. Makes it super hard to know how you knit the increase stitch once you get to it on the next row. Any tips? Haha thanks!

    • @mena_makes
      @mena_makes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! hmmmm I have never held my yarn with the left hand before so I'm not too sure.. I think though once you insert the needle (through the back loop) the action/movement of the yarn is the same as a regular knit stitch.. sorry I can't be more helpful! good luck (:

    Is it supposed to curl initially

  • @chanylaahjohnson5280
    @chanylaahjohnson5280 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a question what if we don’t own the needles you have that comes with two do we just have to buy one or can you accomplish this with one needle ?

    • @mena_makes
      @mena_makes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello! do you mean the circular needles? (The needles with the cord in between). If so, so you don't have to use these. You can use normal straight needles. You will need a pair of straight needles in this case. The only thing is when you make the ties (you need to cast on 30 stitches for each tie) you will have a lot of stitches on your needles so it will be a bit harder to see what's going on but it should be fine (:

    • @mena_makes
      @mena_makes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! After you cable cast-on on the right side, you have to knit across the row (so all the new stitches and old stitches). Then when you are at the beginning of the next row you cable cast-on another 30 stitches. I hope this answers your question (:
