The most interesting part of this is that Ray seemed like he genuinely wanted to earn his good grade
Cat Goddess gets sadder when you realize he’s a hard worker and could earn good grades. However people are too interested in his athletic ability that they try to dampen his ability to study and overall inhibit his growth. He’s a walking sports machine to them
@@williamnguyen8663 Yes, people are naturally prone to stereotyping everyone. In Ray's case, he probably could have been something more than just a good sportsman, and likely even combine these qualities. Yet the society pressures him to be who they perceive he should be, not only because it is more "profitable", but also because this is a more comfortable way to understand reality.
Very interesting
Ignorance is, in fact, bliss

Yup, the real bad guys are the judges and the coach.
Hey man as someone who almost made it to the nfl it really used to be like this back in the day I used to be allowed to straight up skip test days since I was the best on the team it ended up backfiring since I got injured and never made it to the nfl and had to eventually earn all of my grades
Twist: This isn't an SNL Sketch. It's a camera set up in a random room at the actual university of Alabama.

You can tell ray really tried his best, not even joking, man’s could’ve just nailed one banana to a board and been done, but he put all variations available
Including the ever elusive round, orange, banana. That's dedication
Yep, and round bananas are notoriously difficult to nail to plie wood boards, too!
@@Julia-lk8jnit’s even better because it isn’t plywood, it’s just a regular board lmao
You know there are different types of bananas not only like we know it or browny? 😅
Facts!
This is so true it's sad. There are specific classes that are only open for athletes to take and the average grade is like a 98%. It's so disappointing. I got a B in a class because I didn't fully understand quantum mechanics in chemistry. A friend of mine who is a basketball player got an A in an athelete-exclusive course (of the same course value) for writing a two page paper on why exercise is good for you. You can't make this shit up.
University of Louisville. They purposefully make it difficult to figure out.. I only know because of my friend.
They don't count as electives though. It's not for every sport... I've only heard about it happening with male basketball and football players. It's awful.
They don't give student athletes any special treatment at my University. They get put through hell and have to balance their grades with their training or else they're thrown off the team.
Playing devils' advocate, a lot of sport colleges get funding specifically because of their athletic programs and the attention they receive. It sucks, it's unfair, but it's life. Worry about the "B" you earned and not the jock who was given an "A." He'd have been given the "A" whether you received your "B" or not.
Even at high school levels this happens. I recently found out that some of my teachers were actually giving easier tests and less homework to the varsity athletes in my classes... My principal and the dean knew about it as well. God I hate the education system...

Kevin O 1.no my brother did .2.yes
I've been to UNC and this is pretty accurate.
its probaly just accurate at bigger schools i went a medium sized university and had class with all the football players and trust me they weren't getting good grades.
Kevin, this happens at a lot of universities and colleges. This even happens at Notre Dame. They just sign up and take really simple classes, like finite math or something.
What's funny is that John Cena's character is doing legit science. He had a hypothesis, did experimentation to test his hypothesis, and then changed his theories due to his findings of his experiments. That is the fundamentals of science at work.
Samantha Spaeth
Hypothesis: banana wiener, banana gross
Experiment: nom nom

had an athlete in most of my classes while at UA and this is about as accurate as you can get... but they wont admit that around here.
Dude at my school when I had group projects I had football players in them, I think the 8-10 I had projects with one was smart.... but he was the kicker XD
Must've been nice for them lol
Schools I went to, athletes were some of the most academically gifted.
Their life was hell.
I actually had a guy on my team, who got straight As, was the star running back, and would play band during halftime
@Godz Elite, that isn't very Christian like. The guys you're slinging mud at would probably not have had the ability to attend school, but because of their athletic ability they did. Thus giving them an opportunity to contribute to society. I don't know what kind of Christian you call yourself, but you're not representing my faith very well. Btw, my daughter graduated from the University of Alabama School of Nursing and said the complete opposite of what you stated. God bless and Roll Tide.
Is your daughter a potato?
@@RichardRpond Jesus, what a creep. "Contribute to society?" Most college athletes barely have a chance to take advantage of their "education." They're pushed through "paper courses," given easy rides in the normal classes, and toil at the gym and in practice. And since most never make it to professional-level sports, a lot them find that they might've been better off if they'd skipped college and put their muscles to work in construction, or just entered the workforce with a mere high school degree and accrued four years of work experience.
on another note tho this is SO spot on with almost every athlete at a major university
this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard lol I wish
Unfortunately, I've seen it to some degree as well.
you guys know it's true xD something similar happened in my class

Grayson Hasting Right, because that's what we go to college and spend tens thousands of dollars for.
without football most of these schools would be shacks with no money to pay good teachers and the schools would be shit.
Look up American University, the school I attend. We don't have a football team and yet we have a 25% acceptance rate and are ranked in the top ten for International Studies and top 30 for Journalism, with alumni such as suffragist Alice Paul, Judge Judy Sheindlin, and journalist Alisyn Camerota. You could also look at George Washington University, with an acceptance rate of 35%, which has graduated Senator Tammy Duckworth and National Security Advisor Colin Powell. They also have no football team. But yeah a university definitely needs a football team to be successful.
your obviously not educated lmao.
It’s funny cause it’s true. I spent a couple weeks building a science project where I basically built an alternator from scratch. I had it setup so that other people could spin it to make a light bulb glow. I believe I had a pretty cool setup it got tons of attention, I also believe I did a damn good presentation but when I received my grade it was mediocre. But the jock that did his project on pop-corn did no presentation just handed out popcorn from his pop-corn popping cart thing. He very briefly explained how corn popped the rest of the time he talked about what flavors of popcorn there were and which were his favorite. Then donated the popcorn cart to the schools faculty. He got a gold medal... wtf
yeah this never happened.
Jabberwock only part of this that was a stretch was him receiving a gold medal because it wasn’t literally gold. The whole school gathered in the gym and they presented three people with rewards him 1st and some prize money or some shit. 2nd & 3rd were just kids who’s parents had a lot of influence with school staff. It was like that all throughout school. My parents or my mom at least was always pushing me to compete in academic achievement bullshit so she could brag about me at church..I quit fuckin with it and fell in love with construction, welding and automotive. They’d win Everything but writing essays and poems because they couldn’t do anything their parents couldn’t do for them. Funny thing is that they “joked” about their parents doing it for them......
Anyways When it came to it unless you got money or you go to church with them and your children are best friends, good luck. Anyways I love what I do, seeing this only reminded me of that kid who always won with the same project reused year after year after year.

Laura Hughes it’s a John Cena joke “you can’t see me” is literally his thing. Watch John Cena interviews, scroll down to the comments on each one.
CJ Pockets I know what his thing is, lol! I just thought CJ’s video or phone was glitching or something.
Laura Hughes bahahahahaha
The jersey has a name my dude. Its Ray apparently
John's acting was on point.
what's sad is this happens even in high school with football players.
BigNick66 I went to high school with one of the best receivers in TX, he couldn't get into a great program because of his grades. He still went D-1 but he's gray shirted because he's not caught up on his credits.
I live in Alabama, my brother knew a guy that never took any standardized tests, and he's pretty sure had someone do his homework for him. It caught up to him, but it still happens.
BigNick66 this shit doesn't happen, I don't know what school district you attend.
Wow, Cena actually has great comedic timing!
He was the best part of Trainwreck.
That movie was a trainwreck minus the parts with John Cena.
and Lebron
Cena? where do you see him at? I can't see him
I know this is supposed to be funny, but it just made me angry because it is true.
Alli YAFF For real.
This is true, but the lack of education eventually catches up to them. John Oliver did a show on this topic specifically.

eventually the lack of education catches up to America as a whole. Wait, it already has
Mario Habijanec true they need to improve the education system in America so America can
Compete globally in the world
This was pretty hilarious. Cena has awesome comedic timing. But as a professor, I can verify that none of us (at least, nobody I know) would go easy on an athlete. We do, however, have to notify administration if any student athlete starts doing poorly so that the coach knows to ride them. So there is a bit of hand-holding that goes on, but not from the professors. I've never been pressured from admin or athletics to pass a student that didn't deserve it. I have had students beg me to pass them. Sorry my man, you had every opportunity to pass the class like everybody else.
I'm not a professor at Alabama though. So there is that...
you are teaching at a small school then --
A Particle Accelerator!? Do you want metahumans!? Cause that's how you get metahumans!
And who knows what from Earth 2!
Omar Guillen I swear to god, that kid is gonna turn evil and make a particle accelerator explosion and next thing you know, that football star's gonna turn into Shazam!
(P.S. I know Shazam isn't a metahuman. It's been heavily rumored that Cena will play Shazam, which I don't want.)
George Thomas i also heard Alan ritchson will play him
Sorry to break it to you, but all particle accelerators do is accelerate particles to high speeds. Kinda like what we see every day in the form of sunlight. So no meta humans...
Omar Guillen shhhh. I want super speed!
Damn, it'd probably be funnier if wasn't so real. Unless your school if Stanford, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Duke and a few others, there is very little academic accountability held on these players.
"Are you trying to make us lose the game, nerd?!"
The character who played Ray is literally having a good physique, he should be doing wrestling in WWE with the titular slang ' U can't C Me'
"THAT IS A ROUND ORANGE BANANA"
"I didn't like bananas cause they looked like BOYS WEINERS!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
3 students? I only saw two??
FlyEaglesFly!!!!
theguymike what's everyone talking about? I don't get the joke
TrondHelm lol you can't see me is his catchphrase in wrestling so that's why people are commenting that they can't see him 😂
Cody Parkey Cody Parkey is a Brown :(
Matthew Hadden yes sir
I died laughing watching this but then I read the comments and realised this actually happens in some places in America and now I am just kinda sad...
Jeea
Cousin graduated highschool being a totally illiterate Jack wagon,he was the star foosball player..
*****
Did you ever see the waterboy by Adam Sandler?
Sorry,i should have been more clear..
If that's a pic of you... You are gorgeous, no homo
*****
It was a movie set in the deep south of America,it was a simple play on words used by the main characters mother..Yes,I was actually referring to American football..
Jeea Always people on these videos who love to ruin the joke and take it too seriously, right?
I'm just glad he got an A+. He earned it.
"Are you trying to make us lose the game nerd?" Haaaaaa funniest thing ever
I was really expecting an "orange you glad it's not a banana" joke. I almost feel robbed.
But it is a banana, didn't you hear him? A round orange banana.
I only see 2 students but I hear 3... what's going on?
Yea, kind of dumb of SNL to think we wouldn't notice they just added a voice for the 3rd student.
What an original comment man where do you get these from
@@ansafk6326 They can't see Cena, we can't see your question mark... it's spooky!
AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA!
John drank an invisibility potion and now you can’t see him
Hey that's John Xina! The guy who believes Taiwan and China are the same country just like orange and banana are the same fruit.
But they are tho...
#helo the CCP har on me
