Honestly, out of all the cities I’m exploring and vlogs I’ve watched, you all did the BEST job! This was by FAR the most information I’ve been able to gather for ANY city! Very comprehensive and FUN! You guys are the best!! You hit all the stuff no one else does...shopping, dating, parking, driving, etc! THANK YOU ❤️
Hey Check out Art District in Hyattsville MD( subway nearby) Collage Park, Greenbelt for Urban Burbs...housings cheaper.Or Pethworth, Takoma Park neighborhoods...
+Mario Vaughn really appreciate you. Thanks so much for the kind words. We are in NC currently but in DC frequently to see our daughter. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for posting both the pros and cons of living in DC! I've been watching dozens of videos as I consider a job transfer opportunity to DC and I found your videos to be the most honest and helpful thus far. Thanks for sharing your thoughtful insights!
I'm from Washington DC. Born and raised my 19 years of living and I have a mix of thoughts % feelings about it. I do love the city, however, growing up here, you need to know people or else you'll get nowhere in life. When I say this, I mean no one is gonna walk up to you and ask if you want to be their friend or hangout, or such. Yeah I realize this sounds like what kids would say to each other, but all I'm trying to say is if you're not in part of a circle of people or group of people, you're basically an outcast from the rest of society. To all kids in DC, make as many friends as you can while you're in elementary, middle and ESPECIALLY high school. Also, you gotta be rich here if you want decent amount of respect. You got to invite people into your house and play some video games, sleep over, party, drinking, drugs, etc to have a reputation. I know by now people are thinking I've lost my mind but trust me, I speak from experience. At least that's the way I've interpreted on how to get a rep here in DC. I've never lived in any other state so I don't know much about anywhere else. I currently go to school in Northern Virginia, and the people are more or less the same. They call it "Greater Washington". But anyways, that's really about it. If you're poor, forget about living here. Ain't no one gonna respect you. Ain't no one wanna be your friend. Ain't no one will invite you to their group of friends. Growing up in DC, you gotta start your reputation from an early age.
We certainly respect your viewpoint. I’m sure it will grow and evolve at as you age. You are correct that you need strong income to live in the District. All the best to you in your future endeavors! Thanks for watching!
Game expert : thank you so much for your time and honesty I really can respect a person like you. I was considering moving to the DMV area because I have a sister who lives in Maryland and has a pretty good job but that doesn't mean it's for everybody and it's going to work out that way for everyone. Now you have saved me a lot of hardship and time.
As a Marylander the pro of living in DC you have access to transportation, lots of museums, monuments, and memorials. You have the White House and it's the Nation Capital good restaurants, and the party spots are amazing. They have one of the best HBCU university and children hospital. The con of living in DC the rents are high especially in the southwest, northwest and some areas of northeast and southeast. The driving situation is horrible and the crime rate is high in the north and south eastern areas. The school kids don't have school busses accept for the disability. They pay taxes, but have no representation in Congress or the Senate. If you love politic than DC is the place for you, cause everything goes down in DC concerning the American government and laws..
Leshell, you definitely have to bring the big wallet to major markets these days. Certainly it’s not easy with 4 kids, whew! Be smart out there. Thanks for watching!
I love the way she speaks. She sounds very intelligent.......i may be moving to DC in a few months and this video makes me so excited. I wasnt expecting so many Pros!
Remember to talk like a native Washingtonian..Souf is south, norf is north, wurter is water, pockiebook is purse or pocketbook, huhmann is " I agree with you"..murrrland is maryland...lol I'm native my wife is from Cali and she points these out to me😁...enjoy my city.
Ok so idk how or why you all popped up on my feed, however I am so glad you did! I am officially hooked! Lived in DMV for 10 plus years and moved to Cary, NC (now in Garner). Absolutely LOVED the DMV and would desperately like to move back. I saw you vids on NC and completely agree. You all are sooo refreshing and excited about seeing more. Beautiful couple and family!
Not to forget, DC has free healthcare for its residents. In the US, only DC and Hawaii offer free universal healthcare...! Also the city was designed by a Frenchman, thus it gives vibes of an European city, walk able, good transportation etc...
I'm from Chicago. I visited D.C. on my birthday weekend back in November. It's actually bigger than I thought and more luxurious with a wealthy Spirit. I love the black community and how everything from the sports arenas are close to the city. I enjoyed DC and Baltimore! I was really feeling DC though.
HeathandTracyTV DC is unique. I like how it’s designed and layout. I like that it’s more than a museum and city of politics. Have you all ever had heated discussions from Yankees that DC is not northern or a east coast city? What do you think? I think DC is part the east coast culture and more associated with Maryland, Philly especially.
+R S we really appreciate you. Check out our podcast called Joyfully Married After too. iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher. HeathandTracy.com as well. Thanks so much for watching!

I'm sorry but I'm from DC and people there are the most rudest, shallow, snobbish, cliqiush, and stuck up people in america and I'm from NYC. Most people dont really talk to each other because they think theyre high and mighty. People care more about there status then character. Most music events cost money unlike NYC. I prefer to live in Texas, Savannah, Myrtle beach, NYC, or North Carolina. He'll move to another country. There's no communities at all here. Side note, if you're a chick you might like DC. If you're an average guy, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
skyrule.....thats not exclusive to DC. I live in Atlanta and have lived in Chicago and Detroit.....same type of peole. The good thing is there are billions of peole on the planet so there are good peole in DC
Can you guys make a video on what type of jobs are great for a recent college grad starting out in DC? I live in Texas my whole life and thinking about moving to DC. I’m a merchandising and digital retailing major.. but evolving and finding my new passion and love in real estate and social media/marketing.
Our daughter “dreams of jasmine” lives and works in DC currently and loves it as a new college grad. Check Indeed.com for jobs and Glassdoor.com for salaries. You may need to start small and work your way up to your dream job but the opportunity is there! Thanks for watching!
There are so many opportunities there. Make sure you stack your coins and get used to the idea of a roommate. But it is a great city to find your way. Thanks for watching!
Sooo much as far as night life. I will have to check with my twenty somethings on the best places. But DC doesn’t lack nightlife. There is a difference in staying in MD and VA. Keep that in mind. Thanks for watching!
What advice do you guys or Jasmine have for someone wanting to move to DC.. but they have 6 months left in a lease in another state? Is it smart to apply for jobs with an out of state address or use a DC address? I fell in love with the city and willing to make it that way!!
Get an address in the city and YES look for jobs in DC area. The lease can sometimes be transferred if it’s with one of the larger companies. But check you lease for verbiage on any penalty incurred. NEW video! bit.ly/Wheredidweland
HA! Shout out to those Morgan State Bears 🐻. We were just talking about DC proper in this video, but we feel ya😉. Thanks for watching. Check out our podcast on Apple, Google Play or Stitcher; Joyfully Married After. HeathandTracy.com as well...
We love it there too! But the cost of living has kept us away. It’s fine until the kids come. So if you don’t have any children yet, this is the time to do it.
I've lived in DC almost my entire life and I wouldn't have it any other way. The culture and sense of community here is so strong, however due to gentrification the cost of living is rising in the city but overall DC offers an amazing environment
I ve lived in new Orleans for a few years. I got use to the crime rate there ( all the craziness of the big sleazy) and found decent places to live there,in the garden district at that.my daughter took a trip to Washington DC this summer with her school and fall in love with the city.she talks now about wanting to move there after high school.
Lots to like about all three of these areas. If we could wave a magic wand, we’d lean toward DC, MD, VA. However, like anything, pluses and minuses to everything. Cost of living, activities, community, job market/business climate, family, weather, etc...What’s best for YOU? Where are you being lead to go? Are you evaluating your current place and are you evaluating yourself?
If they have pretty girls like that in D.C., I'll buy my ticket right now. Lol. Jk. Great video, relocating in a few days to D.C. from Denver, great info can't wait to get back to a real city again.

DC is definitely a city; not country. There are lots of all kinds and ages of people.
Missed this one. NOT country at all! But so t get it twisted it IS the South as is MD and VA. But we are a King and Queen of the South so we love it.
Honestly, out of all the cities I’m exploring and vlogs I’ve watched, you all did the BEST job! This was by FAR the most information I’ve been able to gather for ANY city! Very comprehensive and FUN! There is definitely more nightlife in NYC. So if that is at the top of list NYC.

I really want to live in Washington D.C. but I've heard so many cons of living there, the cost of living being a huge con and the crime rate.
We love it there too! But the cost of living has kept us away. It’s fine until the kids come. So if you don’t have any children yet, this is the time to do it.
