The BRAND NEW Hyundai Santa Fe Is So GOOD... I'm Having KIDS Tomorrow

- The completely redesigned 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is polarizing, the internet adores it or absolutely hates the rear end. I think it has a very nice butt and love the lighting positions, but that's just the start of how great the new Santa Fe is. It's the best new family car you can buy.

@@WatchJRGo I have no idea why I am addicted to your vids. Other than your transparency. Mucho thanks.
@@WatchJRGo I think you should re-watch the video and blur that part where you can see the address of your house on the car navigation! Just for safety reasons !
After the filming of this video JR went on to start his family with this Hyundai. They had two children named Venue and Accent.
Accent was an accident whe he forgot to pull the d out
Tail lights and rear end remind me of the Geo Metro.
Thought the same thing
And a little bit of Toyota Previa in there too.
Steering wheel heat is THE best thing in a car. At least here in sub-arctic northern Sweden =)
I have a 2022 Sante fe and got it brand new . Lots of road-trips from NC to Florida even to Missouri . No problems! Now Two kids later looking to upgrade this is very affordable from other 7 seaters. Nice video lots of details.
My parents have neighbors that just got one of these in bright red. They look great! Nice and blocky like SUVs used to be.
Boxes just look so good!! 💯
I own a GT2 AWD Stinger and seriously thinking about adding this vehicle to the garage. Test drove one and love the ride and performance.
Thanks for this review. I went and bought my wife this exact configuration Santa Fa, last night. She absolutely loves it.
My 2015 Sante Fe Limited Ultimate has the same touchless rear hatch entry. That option has been around for years! Very useful 👍🏻
Thanks, i like that you include your family and friends in the vids. I would like to see a jr c4 vid preferably a early one
Sorry, 5 minutes late with the upload tonight! This was a big edit for an incredible car. 🚗
Hyundai is stepping up their game finally
Alrighty then....DON'T let it happen AGAIN! LOL Seriously...cool car review. Let us know if you made a sale or not....course with 2 kids coming tomorrow....you might need to make the sale to yourself. HA!
#De-badge the outside
😂😂😂😂😂
Money getting tight or what? Sold out to Hyundai? Thought you were a car guy. These things are junk.
Hyundai is making great designs. I LOVE my ‘24 Hyundai Kona! Their technology works flawlessly and the ride is great!
Thanks, i like that you include your family and friends in the vids)
Awesome video! Doug could learn so much by watching your car review videos haha. You go so far in detail for everything and that is what we all want, not stupid quirks.
That data shutoff on the USB is quietly huge... when the passenger in my car tries to charge their phone it takes over media instead of the wireless android auto... believe that would fix issues like that.
No need to change the oil, the GDI engine requires replacement every 3,000-5,000 miles.
for a while there it did but they finally got things sorted with it. more or less lol. Not like chevy, ford, or mopar are any better. new cars in general are sh!t. just gotta do your research and figure out what kinda sh!t you wanna deal with.
My wife's 2014 Santa Fe Sport has 96,000 miles on it, gets regular (every 5,000 miles) oil changes, is quite quick and gets avg 27 mpg with the GDI 2.0 Turbo. I find it a bit cramped, but then again, I'm 6'4" and 285lbs. Perfect for her.
95k 2017 Santa Fe 3.3 GDI, 5k oil change intervals and oil catch can
I've got a 2018 sonata with 97k miles and it has been great. My 2018 Suburban... not so much.
😂😂😂
Got me a black one with a gray interior. My family and friends absolutely love it 😁👍🏼
Cliff note : JR is in Love with the car
I got the 2023 Santa Fe calligraphy and I love it
same , i bought it for my wife last spring and it's been great so far .... one oil change is all it's had done (for free of course) i also paid a little extra for the 10yr /100k bumper to bumper warranty
@@Hard_Right how much did you pay for the bumper to bumper warranty?
That remote is twice the size it should be.
Really nice job explaining all the features!!!!
Ooh! Another episode of Watch JR Be A Car Salesman. Noyce.
AGREE 100% !!!!
WatcgJRGo is now classified as a SELLOUT Joke! Unsubscribe, lost all credibility!
Because of this video, we want to test drive a Santa Fe tonight. I’ve never been a Hyundai fan but i have to admit, the Santa Fe is amazing.
DONT DO IT !
Your sister is awesome haha! With the 15,000 gizmos what could go wrong lol. I’ll take bets 50% of them are off the road in 10 years because everything will fail or outdate but cool technology
I love my 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy, we have 3 of these in the family
She loves speed just like JR does runs in the family 😂😂😂
almost at 400k subs Congrats
Great review , thanks !
As someone who's budget conscious, I'm really impressed with how serviceable the engine bay appears to be, thanks for showing that!!
I own a toyota, thats one thing I never wish to learn about, for a reason
Yeah, Hyundai and Kia both have very serviceable vehicles. I know it's the same company, but still. I do not mind working on them.
It’s serviceable since it’s gonna break all the time
New 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe IS 👍🏼👌🏼 a good choice!.😉😎
Hope she loves it and it's reliable. I don't have a family so I have lil sisters old 06 Charger RT she sold me cheap so she could buy a Forester, I don't know why she bought it either, it scared her, but it's a nice car.
This new Santa Fe is nice. My 2018 Kia StingerGT1 AWD had the SmartSense package, and when cruise and SmartSense was on the Stinger would keep up with traffic and steer itself in the lanes, it was flawless. It’s good to see they brought SmartSense over to the new Santa Fe!
That body color is Military olive drab with a gloss coat on top!
You just need to de badge the car for your sister. Add some Ranger Rover badging
And then just get her something better.
Wow sooo nice !!!
Tough beautiful and modern !!!
Nice !!!
That laugh his sister made when he said he was starting a family was so disrespectful low key. 😂😂
I first got the white one with all the white seats and then changed my mind cuz I figured it'd be hard to clean and I got the black interior
Awesome review by the way 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Just Traded in my 22 for a 24 base model se and even in base form the amount of standard features is impressive and the 2.5 turbo is so much more fun to drive than the old na one
Having driven the 2022 Santa Fe, there are some features from that in this new Santa Fe like the adaptive cruise and the 8 speed automatic. Hyundai had a push button transmission in that model and it was not intuitive at all. Definitely happy that JR would do a review/overview of the vehicle.
We are actually looking at trading our 2020 Kia Sorento in and thought I knew what we wanted lol and you completely changed everything!
Which is a good thing!
Omg this is an incredible deal for the money! I've been driving a Ford Edge Titanium and it's the same price as this Hyundai and not even close to the same options!
Looks like you can do a 15,000 mi 48 month lease for $500 a month 0 down ....which is an incredible deal also!
I can't wait to drive one now! Thank you!
Cost to have Dealer install new Air Filter - $200. The joy in knowing it took the mechanic all of 30 seconds to change the Air Filter - Priceless
Saw this on the road the other day and was blown away at the futuristic style. Love the features and the price its at.
What futuristic style
Currently leasing our third Hyundai Tucson. The 2022 engine blew at 20,000 miles while we were on vacation in Pennsylvania. Called the Hyundai road service number on the drivers side window & they picked up the car 45 minutes later & took it to the closest Hyundai Dealer, Frysinger Hyundai, in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Hyundai furnished us a rental car from Enterprise to drive back home to Indiana. Frysinger updated us regularly & installed the new engine. Hyundai made arrangements to ship our car to the dealer we got it from. We picked it up & turned the rental car back to Enterprise in our town. While I can say it was an experience I don't want to go through again, I thank Hyundai for doing everything possible to make us whole again. Next lease we will definitely consider the redesigned Sante Fe,
Yeah, lease garbage again. Smart.
Uh, your engine blew at 20k miles and you are considering another one? LOL
Thank goodness you were near a town full of mechanics 😂 sucky situation, but good on hyundai for taking care of you
You engine blew at 20k miles and you're going to buy ANOTHER one? WTF is wrong with you?
So your engine blew at 20k miles (while out of town) and the only thing you got out of the experience was “oH ImMA cOnSiDEr BuYiNG aNoTHER oNe”
Holy cow, 45 minutes. You're so geeked out. It does look impressive. Ease of service A+ . Very utilitarian, tons of handy features, and looks good. Chrysler would charge twice as much, and only be half as good.
The Hyundai badge represents two people shaking hands
Wow, that Santa Fe is nice!!!!! $49k seems like a decent price for what you get and I love the color.
There are some concerns that I have about Hyundais and Kias though. It seems like they depreciate REALLY fast and it seems they have had a lot of engine failure issues.
I really do love the design of this thing though. If your sister ends up buying it, I hope she enjoys it.
THings change. 2020 Kia Tellurida is most awarded SUV in its class. They sell almost at full new price, used.
2024 Santa Fe with a 1990 Geo Metro rear end.
Forgot to talk about the recliner chairs in front! So cool! Wait. Now you did. Lol
It is perfect, so I bought one.
Your family are all naturals on the channel.
After you push the button and access the back seat, can you push the button and it returns to the original position?
Is this the wife of that guy Eric who has a different work truck for each day of the week?
I believe so and there is no denying who her father is either.
The center light bar looks like a Mercury Topaz from 40 years ago. What’s old is cool again!
I wish they still made those.
Wait, the hood struts were perfect!😂
This also reminds me of my 13 Ford Flex which was completely trouble free outside regular maintenance.
Still sometimes regret trading it.
I used to laugh at those things till I saw one several years ago. Them things are nice, I kinda want one
I just checked Hyundai's website and the base model comes standard with the 2.5 turbo and 8-speed which is impressive for only $34K. My hesitation would be it's a Hyundai given their spotty reliability history.
10/yr 100,000 mile warranty
@@Hard_Right Needs it.
@@Hard_Right Lol you'll need it. Good luck getting them to honor it, they look for any reason to deny claims. Ask your service dept about how long it will take to get a new engine/trans in.
@@Hard_Rightas someone who had to use this warranty many times, then they even extended it to 150k because the car was so shitty class action lawsuits were looming. Have fun, it takes absolutely forever and they won't provide a loaner. Then after the third motor and second tranny they just stopped approving the warranty claims even though it was clearly still in warranty. I'm somewhat convinced the morons in the Hyundai service department are the reason the tranny kept going.
For what it's worth, I've owned multiple Hyundai and Kia products over the years. They have all been very reliable.
I have a 2011 Santa Fe with 190k miles on it and I’ve been looking at this one. Thanks for doing a review on it.
Looking after family, well done.
Not really
Sheesh. A lot of a Hyundai haters in the comment section here. I've owned my 2019 Tucson for almost 5 years now, bought it at 36k miles and have had one issue with the motor which was covered by the dealer. Other than that, its been a tank. I plan to get the XRT version of the Santa Fe soon and i love what they did with the styling. Every who is bitching about the transmission should realize they get one of the best warrantys with hyundai/kia so you shouldn't be too worried anyways. Every new car has some sort of issue lmao.
It's a ford flex in the front and geo metro in the back😂😂😂
The car version of a mullet. 😅
I can see those active shutters breaking in cold climates... Either snapping the tabs when frozen over or burning out the motors, especially since they open on a start up sequence when the car is usually cold and frozen over
We all globally know that John. But when are you going to make a live video from your new workshop garage next with the 2 Camaros ?
I can do that whenever, I’m down! 💯
Watch that air filter door. The dealer will slam that thing shut and break the hinges off of it in two seconds. I had to argue with them to replace mine. I’ve honestly had the worst ownership experience with the Sonata that I have. I legit want my Accord back. I’ve had two Hyundai. My first one was great. This one was CPO and I don’t think I’ll ever buy another one.
Same issue with the filter housing hinge
Thanks for showing everyone where you live in Andover... LOL.
I bought this exact car 2 months ago, exact interior and exterior color in Calligraphy model of the Santa Fe. Incredible number of luxury options for incredible price. Drives and rides beautifully. By the way, the “H” stands for the Hyundai salesperson shaking hands with the new purchaser of a Hyundai. The climate screen is barely visible on a very sunny day which makes it difficult to turn ac on/adjust fan speed on a hot day. A problem in the design aspect.
So close to 400K.
Dropping a "dad joke" like that in the opener makes me think you really do want to start a family😂. Seriously, excellent review, thank you. ~ Chuck
@WatchJRGo
FYI You can totally see the map for a brief moment and theres enough info to find out your exact location... I know TH-cam has a new editing feature where you can add a blur overlay... Might want to check it out
I love the design, I think it’s cool but I still think I would get the palisade or the telluride for the same price and the V6.
If I were looking for a midsize SUV, I would get the KIA Sorento..
I'm with Sis. I hate the И.
Oddities and functionalities 🤣🤣
Very nice with that.
The serviceable part is 🔥 ... Hate a vehicle that is built so that you have to take it to the dealership for service.
I love that color as it is so unique! If I were purchasing a new luxury SUV today I would still probably lean towards Lexus though...
Lexus is so boring tho and really hasn’t updated designs in years. Toyota as a brand has been lagging behind almost all manufacturers is innovation and features. You have to give Hyundai credit they have been leading a charge with new features and innovations and it’s finally paying off for the brand.
@@ingresswizard9044 At least their engines and trans won't explode. You'll have plenty of time to play with your innovations and features while waiting for a tow.
@@ingresswizard9044you ain’t seen the new ones
JR your a good sales person I went out and bought 2
Congrats John😂
The transmission will learn how you drive so it'll get out from a dig better over time (if you're in to that). I have a Santa Cruz for a few years now and the powertrain is pretty much the same - there were a slew of DCT issues - I think they're pretty much ironed out.
Her personality is your dad, 100%. Way more than yours is even, lol. Just no doubt she's her father's child, lol.
At first I couldn't place the look of the rear, but it was somehow familiar. Then it came to me... It looks kind of like the old Volkswagen Vanagon from the 1980's.
I like the fact, that remote start is free for the first 3 years. I'm not sure about your sisters car. But mine was free on my 2020 Elantra.
It should be free for all of eternity
JR, you made me laugh with your assertion of the pause button on the tire for the noise cancellation feature. I looked it up and the noise cancellation only provides 2 to 3 dB reduction - better than nothing.
Holy cow, what a great review. Never thought I wanted a Hyundai. You are making the markups go even crazier JR. I think Hyundai understands the the MSRP game and probably encourages the dealership to markup their enticing affordable prices (you can never get them at their msrp).
I bought one same color awd. Last Monday
After really squinting at the silver egg, you can actually see the big giant Hyundai logo in between the buttons just now noticed that💀💀
I’ve got a 22 Santa Fe XRT All Wheel Drive and honestly I love it.
bought my wife a 23 santa fe calligraphy and we also like it , not one problem so far (8000 miles in a year so not a ton of driving) we'll definitely run the clock out on the warranty if we keep it that long
Oh just give it awhile don't worry. You'll have plenty of problems.
@@nemesis656 anything is possible but with my warranty I can chance it and I’ve seen the changes they made to better their drivetrain over the last years because of my dealings with several automotive companies.
@@nemesis656 Agreed. Maybe a 3 year lease if someone really likes it. POS really
Keep the Ford. Living in Minnesota, those front flap things would break off in winter. The H is too much. I appreciate the details of the Range Rover. 😂
Kinda looks like a FORD FLEX
I really dig that color👍🏻
Fantastic since i previously owned a 2022 Palisade calligraphy. And this calligraphy is much nicer and sharper
What happened to it?
Good Evening John Ross
Hey Douglas! 🍻
The Outback has had a hands-free liftgate since 2020... and has had the 'hidden' cargo cover since at least 2010
and while priced very low for the 2024 and manufactured in Japan, has awful reliability feedback
@@Ascension_3030 the outback? It's built in Indiana. Before dissing something you might want to check your facts.
Best commercial Hyundai ever made 😂😂😂 so are you going to get one would you give up your volt for one😮
Damn i read the title then immediately after you are talking about your sister 😅
The family thing is a joke... but I really want a reason to own this thing 😍
Oh wait is there something wrong with that? I thought it was normal
@@WatchJRGo Hoovie is proof positive that no one needs a reason to own a car they want.
An amazing transformation from what Hyundai was, to what they are now. When I was a kid, I had a 96 Hyundai because it was all I could afford. Now, this marquee is becoming synonymous with some of their Japanese rivals. Incredible. That said, how did the "H's" in the light clusters pass the "Is it too cheesy?" in marketing! 😆
I really like the design and everything looks/feels good. only thing is the low hanging rear light that will be blocked with bike/cargo rack and also in urban setting. I wonder when the full hybrid with 2.5 will come out in the U.S? for now, I am passing on this model.
Engine will grenade at just 5 miles! 😂
Cool with me, 10yr, 100k warranty 🔥
@@WatchJRGo your gonna use it more than once 😂😂
So wont Chryslers, Fords, GMs and even Toyotas. Lots of sketchy new stuff out there. This thing looks awesome though.
Until they deny the warranty claim because of something you did or didn’t do with maintenance. Scotty talks about it often. They’ll have horrible resale and reliability in a few years. Nobody with a decent brain buys a Hyundai or Kia.
@@chadb3363lmfao ooooook , you must be smarter than everyone else ...
Quiet but turns to back speakers off so you can hear the radio out front when the kids are sleeping
The fans turning on when you unlock/approach the car is often done to help clear stagnant new car smell from the car. That's how volvo does it at least, and as the car gets some miles on it it'll do it less and less. No idea if this is what they do on this car though.
Where's the switch for the electric ball scratcher?
I'll take one with a white exterior and black interior. How do I start my own GFM to pay for it?
Aren't you worried about using driver assist in the rain? Couldn't the sensors and radar get blocked by water or dirt?
