supposedly you can remove the interior trim and open the latch with a screwdriver manually from inside the vehicle but I dont have any more details than that.
I just completed the same repair and can confirm the computer part is not needed. Looks like the trunk closed and used the computer to send the unlock command like pressing the button. Hope that helps.
@@TmJE5 so during installation one must make sure not to drop the hatch to where it latches locked? I mean in a tutorial video, it would be wise to mention :)

the video was perfect, but I did an expensive mistake. Overtightening the bolts cause my glass to break. Dumb error but we have to learn the hard way.

I can't even open mine. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get it open. It's not work with the key and need it to open to pass the mot test.
