Growing potatoes in the garden is a delightful and fulfilling activity! It's amazing to see the small potato seeds grow into big, tasty potatoes that we can enjoy at home.
To grow potatoes, you just need a sunny spot in your garden and some good soil. This year, the soil in our garden is especially good, full of nutrients that help the potatoes grow well. Before planting the potatoes, I make sure to prepare the soil by loosening it up and removing any weeds.
I plant the potato seeds about 30 centimeters apart and bury them about 10 centimeters deep in the soil. Giving them enough space helps them grow without crowding each other.
The earthworms in the soil are like little helpers. They move through the soil, making it nice and loose, which helps the potatoes grow better.
After about four weeks, we start to see the first green shoots popping up from the soil. It's exciting to see the plants growing so quickly!
Taking care of the potato plants by watering them regularly is important. And when it's time to harvest the potatoes, it's a great feeling to see the results of our hard work.
Growing potatoes in the garden is a rewarding experience. It's a way to grow our own food and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Let's continue to nurture our garden and enjoy the delicious potatoes it produces!
Ang pagtatanim ng patatas sa hardin ay isang nakakatuwang at nakakabusog na gawain! Napakaganda na makita ang mga maliit na buto ng patatas na lumaki at maging malalaking, masarap na patatas na maaari nating ipagdiwang sa bahay.
Upang magtanim ng patatas, kailangan mo lamang ng isang maliwanag na lugar sa iyong hardin at ng ilang magandang lupa. Ngayong taon, ang lupa sa aming hardin ay espesyal na maganda, puno ng mga sustansyang tumutulong sa mabuting paglaki ng patatas. Bago itanim ang mga patatas, siguraduhin kong ihanda ang lupa sa pamamagitan ng paglulubog nito at pagtanggal ng anumang damo.
Nagtatanim ako ng mga buto ng patatas na mga 30 sentimetro ang layo sa isa't isa at inililibing ang mga ito ng mga 10 sentimetro sa lupa. Ang pagbibigay sa kanila ng sapat na espasyo ay tumutulong sa kanilang paglaki nang hindi nagtutulakan.
Ang mga earthworm sa lupa ay parang mga munting katulong. Sila ay kumikilos sa pamamagitan ng lupa, ginagawa itong malambot at maluwag, na tumutulong sa mas mahusay na paglaki ng patatas.
Pagkatapos ng mga apat na linggo, nagsisimula kaming makakita ng mga unang berde na mga puno na lumalabas mula sa lupa. Nakakexcite na makita ang mga halaman na lumalaki nang mabilis!

Nice to see your safe at home after that amazing trip. I love potatoes so much I could eat for every meal like Filipino eat rice. My potatoes never seem to grow underground, just rot. I think maybe my soil is bad. Love the channel, stay safe.

If your potatoes are rotting instead of growing underground, it could indeed be a soil issue. Potatoes need well-draining soil with good fertility. Consider amending your soil with compost or well-aged manure to improve drainage and fertility. Also, planting in raised beds or containers with loose, well-draining soil can help.
