Cool. Might need to adjust the valves for easier starting.

Good deal you got it up and running. It will be interesting to see the transaxel swap. Thanks for sharing.

Good video , Tayal just bolted another pulley on top of the old one and it seemed too work- pulley was rusted on too the shaft . But another rear end will work too , but if you couldn't go that route .....Just saying ......

These are held on by a snap ring and a keyway. Even though they're rusted I've usually been able to beat it off.

Really great video! Do you have a link to where to buy those carburetors? Thats one of the best running clone carbs I've ever seen.

I got them off ebay from a place called the ROP shop. It's a carb for a 41N707. It's worked great from a 12hp flathead to a 21hp intek.

Hey bud! I have a yardpro tractor here in Canada with a 12.5 briggs with the quite overhead cam. It runs amazing but the deck is done and I want to put the motor in a 165 hydro John Deere with the kawasaki engine. It has the electronic blade switch unlike the yardpro and a fuel pump and not gravity fed, would the engine swap with minor mods or is it a no go

I've never done a Kawasaki to Briggs conversion. Your biggest obstacle will be wiring. Your other wild card is the charging system if it will be enough to run the load of the electric PTO clutch. I want to say you need a high output charging system to do that which most 12hp Briggs don't have.

What kind of transmission fluid does it take?

Pretty sure these transmissions are just filled with grease.

That really is an interesting mower since Western Auto was bought out by Advanced Auto so WA , as an independent company, is history. Western Auto used the Wizard name for their lawn mowers since at least the 1950s. Even the Kansas City address (that had been the WA main office for decades and decades) on the serial number tag has been repurposed into condos.
Have have to say, that parts donor mower is one of the ugliest looking tractors I believe I have ever seen! It remind me of one of those early 1970s “custom cars” that Elvis would have bought!

Thanks for the info about Western Auto! It's kind of neat they were a big enough company to have their exclusive name for the serial number since it's just another AYP mower.
