    I spent some time in the mid 70's in Morocco, and was invited to just such a meal. I did love the food, and appreciate the video because it brings back good memories and reminds me of the cuisine, and even I grow mint now for the occasional Moroccan tea.

    The majority of desert culture they show is originally arabian. The spicemix ras el hanout, mint tea, couscous and tajine are bedouin dishes.

    • @susanbi8206
      @susanbi8206 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely not

    • @ЇаннъЄархъ
      @ЇаннъЄархъ 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually it is the other way around. The Arab settlers are substantially influenced by the culture of these people and also Persians, byzantine etc.

    • @ladyessi
      @ladyessi 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Miroslav Ten The arabian culture has some influences of other cultures, just like most cultures do. But the tajine and couscous are centuries old desert dishes from the bedouines. They spreaded their culture all over east africa and north africa and many adopted it.

    • @ladyessi

    the mechanism of the tajine resembles an american pressure cooker in my honest opinion

    • @Jessicaro
      @Jessicaro 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Beanmachine91 Yes it does. But the tajine is way older than a pressure cooker and the food tastes way better if cooked in one. if you ever get the chance you should try a dish made in a tajine and one in a pressure cooker.
