we do not say words are not repeated in the minimal pair, we say if the word has two different sound segments such as fahm ( understanding ) and faħm(coal) in this case they are minimal pairs why ? BECUASE they contrast meaning. Another point to add, the sound segment can be changeable they can replace one another. and if so they are in contrastive distribution. hence, they different phones.
