Hard to believe all of the launch footages were filmed, but only Olympic and Britannic footage survived.

Should have been preserved as a museum. I dont think society back then really realized what they had in technology majestic size & elegance. Would have LOVED to experience this technology & beauty of the early 1900's.

Do appreciate the budget and work required to maintain even a small vessel as a museum exhibit? When she and Mauretania were retired there had been an economic crash involving loss of monetary value. Scrapping the ships was a way of keeping a town fed and solvent.

@@KiwiSentinel yeah I understand that life gets in the way of things one wants or wishes. Would have been nice in a perfect world.

If titanic was next to olympic why they didn't made any recordings of her being built or when she was launched like olympic??? That's just unfair!

@@Nobody-dz3gj Well the Titanic wasn't nearly as popular as the Olympic at the time, The Titanic was only seen as another Olympic.

@@Nobody-dz3gj there is a video of Titanic's launch but it was lost somewhere either in a fire or it still lost in a warehouse in Belfast and we just don't know about.

The olympic was the first of the three large and luxurious ocean liners that white star built that they hoped would give the company an advantage in their competition with cunard. The titanic was slightly bigger and more luxurious then the olympic. Then after the titanic the Britannic was larger then the titanic. significantly, thanks to the improvements that was needed when the titanic sank. Unfortunately only the olympic had a full life.
