Boy !! That was a good one Leon, if that transformer tool you had was not broken you would have been able to tell from the get go that is was a grounding problem. But you never gave up and the hard ones you never forget. 👍. Thanks for Sharing. Love this Channel.
Man oh man!!! That bad boy fought you every step of the way! Appreciate you taking us along for the fight! Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family Leon!
I love how real you are! things are frustrating sometimes and personally there would have been some choice words coming from my mouth. i would have walked away, calmed down and hit er again.
Thanks buddy for keeping it real and explaining things as they occur. We learn from our mistakes...at least we're supposed to anyway. These diagnostic troubleshooting vids are invaluable to us guys that love solving our chainsaw issues ourselves. And when we get too frustrated with them, well, that's when we box 'em up and ship them to you☺ Excellent work and another entertaining video my friend.
i am doing a homelite 550 w/ transformer etc. so this is very helpful. doing a difficult fix is frustrating but one learns alot. the reward of suffering is experience ( first said by former defense secretary robert mcnamara)
Ok i understand that the extra ground tab would cause it not to run but what I can't see is how did it run for the short period of time that it did? I absolutely hate these kind of little Grimlins 🤬🤬🤬🤯 Great investigative diagnosing work 👍
I never understood why some saw manufacturers used the 2 piece ignition systems around the same time in the late 70’s and 80’s. The electronic ignition systems before and after just used an ignition module so why the complexity?
Have you or anyone ever tried to check for spark using a no contact voltage tester? Some muti meters have that function. They can be used to test for voltage within wires or any device that has a voltage moving thru a device like the transformer ( spark plug cap ) on these 360.
Hello Leon Brendan from Melbourne Australia how are you? I picked up a 360 yesterday.... in about as good of condition as this one if not a little better for $40 AUD intake boot is intact and cylinder in really good condition but coil is not producing spark🤦♂️ do u have any in stock? Or could u possibly find me one pretty please🙏 I have searched eBay both australia and .com
You are a great teacher Leon. I am learning so much about homelites from you. Thank you for making these videos.

Doesn’t it seem strange that it had been running? I thought that’s what you said at the beginning of the video. Great job figuring it out.
my question also

Great video, I learned a ton, you are a good mentor. Would love to crack a couple cold ones and ask you some questions someday. Thanks.
Wow! What a pain!
I am impressed you caught that !
Good job!

Excellent job sticking it out. Don't think I would of had the determination on that one. It would have gone back to the shelf for a long while. Thanks

Could it be a bad toggle switch
I had the paint bubble through a tank and mess up the paint before, grrrr
Wow 💥🛠
be carefull , people will swap parts out for another saw and blame you for bad parts its true ..
Making the same ohmmeter readings with a known bad coil would be informative.
Sound like short on compression
360 runs fine until it gets hot then no power
EITHER you want to fix things for people FOR NOTHING, or you would tell them HOMELITE REPAIRS cost more than saw is worth.
