John done so much for angling not just the fishing, grew up watching his shows and looked forward each week to go fishing. Was my hero then and still is today. "What a klonker! "
A great thing about John's presenting was how he always explained his methods and showed the tackle he was using and gave reasons why. This was (and still is) really helpful.
Grew up in the uk watching this legend; he gave me the passion for fishing that I still have to this day; RIP Mr Wilson ; we will miss you and thank you for all the happy memories
Wow! I’ve just turned 70 and have lived in the us for 30 years. I remember watching you on TV when I was fishing the fish ponds in Wokingham. My youngest son had a 22 pounder. These are incredible creatures.
RIP john .thank you for inspiring me to take up fishing. glad we have got DVDs to keep your memory alive and to inspire the next generation of anglers...
Not many men can build a business and a following and then retire to such an amazing lake like that. Full of respect for the man, well done Mr Wilson. Well done indeed.
I had no idea John had passed away!!! I'm truly gutted he has!!! I remember watching him fishing for bream on a slider float ! I'd never seen that tactic before an learned how to use it and had some great catches on it ! Wqtche him every week with my Dad great memories ! My thoughts are with his family may you be sat by the bank in Heaven John with that laugh that we all knew and loved ! Never met you but good bye my friend
John Wilson best fishing presenter along with Jack Hargreaves . Grew up watching out of town and then go fishing RIP John I really enjoyed your shows .
Love the way JW casually describes his tackle. "Size 13 thailand hook. That's about 6 or 8 in the UK. 2 small shot and twelve foot away from the hook is a small insert waggler. Oh! And FIFTY POUND BRAID!" You just know something BIG is going to happen :-))... RIP JW. You've passed down so much fishing and natural history knowledge to so many millions of anglers, both young and old alike. What a dream of a lake too :-))...
Can’t believe he’s no longer with us 😢 I spent hours and hours and hours watching johns tv series reading his books and watching his videos even fishing with his endorsed gear . R.I.P sir i amongst many others will miss you and your chuckles and your genuinely encapsulating viewing , thank you so much for all the years of encouragement 🙏
I remember his first episode of go fishing back in the day like it was yesterday and he inspired me ever since. All I can say is thankyou John you will live on forever 🎣 ♥
i have always liked float fishing even at night with a night light much better than waiting for an alarm and sleeping you miss to much of the nightlife
Miss you JW, so glad I was able to talk with you one to one at Chatsworth in 2005. Such a big influence on my life, thanks for being an awesome inspiration and fantastic angler, I followed you from day one of your tv programs, even followed in your footsteps to Ireland and Lake Nasser. Taken from us way too soon, rest in peace great man 😔🐟
I watched with a tinge of sadness knowing this was probably one of the last fishing blogs from the great man. He inspired my early days and continues to give me a warm feeling inside when I watch the GO Fishing originals. God bless you John.
if i am honest i prefer the old vids of john wilson these new ones are thing i already know,i like watching and reminising of the old days it maybe selfish ,but i watch jack hargreaves yes its old school but thats what makes it good for me,,,the memories more than the techniques of fishing
R.i.p my sir thank you for all the fishing tips and aswell the love for wildlife you gave me and the time you had to film the other wildlife not just fish r.i.p sir wilson
R.I.P Legend. I will forever take a piece of you with me every time i go out on the bank. You taught us all so much over the yrs of presenting. You knowledge and that amazing laugh of yours will live on in our memories. Rest easy up there ✌
That rod has to be 40 years old, an original North Western built at John old shop, The Tackle Den, in Norwich. I guess that’s Daves lake in Thailand. RIP John, you will be missed.
How refreshing rather than most fisherman nowadays just lumping out a bait and doing nothing else. Don't even have to the hook the fish and then just bully them into the net. Also with this type of fishing you get the initial burst once fish is hooked, bite alarm brigade never get that.
Sitting down reeling in. He was the same age as my dad. He had a big stroke which killed him. Probably better than fading like my dad who had a silent stroke and then dementia
Esta pescando en un criadero de peces eso no es pescar ni es un pescador dejate de joder si tiras un anzuelo en un lugar donde estan enserrados los peces y le dan poca comida es seguro que bas a pescar si o si .
