Oooh I love the subtle interplay of colors, and the dark wax just takes it next level! Can’t wait for next week when your creativity is set loose. Your video is the best part of my week.
It’s good to see others painting the inside of cabinets. Those tiny hard to reach places are a pain for me but so important. Love your work. Scared to death if someone asks me to do a piece for them. I’m actually building a blanket ladder for a friend but that’s really a no brained. I finally got the nerve to finish up my dresser to post and noticed I had splats of red DIY paint on it! Ugh! It’s my Anthropology take painted in DB drop cloth! Believe it or not it has a wax finish and I took DIY clear wax and it rubbed off! I was amazed! Can’t wait to share! Take care!
Oh man Sheri those were tedious to get into and not my favourite 😂 but agree with you it’s important. So frustrating when you notice things like that! Can totally relate.
This piece really has character with all the texture the aging and the blending! It was a WIN WIN project! Beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing all the tips on liquid sanding.
Ah Sharo thank you, man I have blended a couple of pieces now and each time I get more familiar with it. When I first started it was bad 😆 still have a long way to go but I'm glad you like this one! Thank you
@@VintageAndPainted Sarah, I had finally gotten a chance to listen to the podcast from December. Your testimony of waiting on the Lord is so moving! I just wanted to let you know that you are so encouraging to others. God Bless!
Yes, come to the lives and stop by in the chat where we talk about things like dogs that fart glitter! After giving you all a giggle with that one last week, it has renewed my enjoyment in that story. We miss our old lab but gosh she's still giving us great giggles. Lovely seeing you Sarah. I know I'm later than usual watching. I never let it sit for few days. The weekend just vanished in a blur somehow. I love the cabinet. I'm not going to gush over it yet though because I'm bringing you down to the sitting room to watch you on the big telly. It was so good to watch I have to do it. You did a great job there girl. I'll be back after I watch it.
Ah and now it brings me giggles!! Sweet pup! I know what you mean by The Weeknd vanishing! It’s all going way to fast 😬😆 I need a weekend to recover from my weekend! I hope you enjoyed the rest of the video the cabinet was a biggin’ 😳
@@VintageAndPainted I did enjoy it of course. I always do. I always love seeing your face. It doesn't matter if you're in good humour or bad. Once I know you're still with us and fit to get up and turn on the camera, I'm happy. Your wonderful creations are a bonus and your smiles are an extra beautiful bonus. But it's always good checking in on a friend.
I love how this turned out. I love all the texture and blending. I'm not good at blending. But as I watch you I remind myself that I need to just have fun with it and strive for brush strokes. LOL. It's hard when I normally do smooth finishes. But I'm going to have to practice with a piece thats not a customer piece. LOL. Thanks again for sharing your talents.
I know what you mean Angie...we spend so much time getting rid of those that it can be so hard to then be ok with brush strokes 🤣 thank you for your encouragement! it means a bunch!
First time seeing your channel, came home to nz after45 years in Australia with a Australian husband, great country.. love watching you ❤ all the best from the bottom of the world great to meet you. Graham is from kynton Victoria. We lived in Bendigo.
Oh wow Jonina. As much as I love Australia I know moving home would have been an amazing feeling! Glad you’re along for the ride! We lived in Victoria for a little while it was lovely but I’m a NSW girl 😊
What a transformation, Sara! From a plain pine piece to this gorgeous textured aged beauty. Commissioned pieces can be hard (and a little stressful) when they have something in the client’s head and you’re trying to create that look, but I sounds like you nailed it!💜
Thank you Ashley! I totally agree they can be stressful pieces...stress of a different kind 😉 I still get stressed when I'm just doing it for me to sell 🤣
Hi Sarah WOW, once again you have created something absolutely amazing, I love this piece ,I can see why your client was wrapped, the colour, blend ,texture even the hinges are perfect, it would be so hard to create this type of outcome especially for someone else but you nailed, you have a way of seeing how something can be and then bringing that vision into life, I really appreciate how you explain all you do and why ,thank you so much for sharing this, I'm looking forward to seeing the next piece, take care lovely all the best Mary in Australia ⚘😘
Mary 😍😍 ah lady you are a favourite (have I said that before 😆) grateful for you and your encouragement! I appreciate you and how you cheer me on, it means a bunch. How is Oz? You staying dry? Mum and dad haven’t had any flooding but my brother in QLD did. His business went under twice 😞 Hope you like next weeks piece it’s a bit different 🤗
Definitely a beauty! Custom work can be tricky - obviously not a challenge for you. I want a small chop-saw, a router, a nail gun, etc. For now I'll drool watching you work in your shop. (A few years ago my tools were stolen during a move. And so it goes.)
So glad she was happy with it turned out great , I am just finishing my first actual commission piece today , client not seen it yet it is soooo nervous! It really is different doing a commission great job 👏
I don't like grey myself but I'm sure the client loves it since you did an amazing job! Love the gradient blending. Hope you have a wonderful upcoming week!
Yes grey can get kind bland for sure! and I definitely wanted to give this piece some personality otherwise the grey on grey 😳 could be too much. I hope you are well Mel!
I really love this..I have a pine bookcase with knots so now I know how to sort it Thank you..your videos premiere at 3pm in the uk. And I look forward to them😃
Ah that’s so cool. Love hearing this! That’s a lovely time! I hear that it’s something like 2am in Australia 😳😬 I’m glad you’re enjoying the vids, thank you 😊
Aww thank you Sarah. I didn't even realize it was in that video. This custom piece is very beautiful. I love the technique of the paint wash on the inside. And the hardware turned out beautiful with you aging them as well. I'm going to give that a go on some of my silver hardware that's too shiny.. Is wiping back the dark wax easier because you had the top coat on the entire cabinet?
Hehehe 😉 i honestly am so grateful thank you again. Forgot to mention the gilding wax I used is Annie Sloan as well. Usually not a silver girl but I may use it more now 😆 Yes definitely you can even go in with clear wax and use it as an eraser that way if you want to remove the dark wax completely
Well Sarah, you did it again!!!! Such a BEAUTIFUL CABINET!!!! Wish I could LAYER LIKE THAT!!!!
Ahhh thank you 🥰🥰 a year ago I couldn’t either 😉
U did wonderful n knotty pine is a pain in the a** n bleeds like no other wood!! So kudos to u for pulling it off with these light colors.
Oh I 100% agree...such a pain! Got to love that primer tho...certainly helped
A beautiful transformation of color and light! It's so fresh looking now.
Thank you Angel!!
This turned out very pretty. I know your client was happy.
Thank you Barbara ♥️
I LOVE the texture, blending and dimension. It's a beautiful piece.
Thanks Holly
Once again you make me want to be a better creator. Just gorgeous.
Ah thanks Kathleen...you should do it 😉
Ooh, love how this turned out a little grungy but totally classy. Not surprised your client was thrilled! Beautiful work, Sarah!
Jenn thank you!
Turned out really nice. Love your work and attitude. Will have to try the vanish from annie sloan.
Thank you Tamara... Varnish is definitely a different beast to polycyclic and polyurethane...smells unique 🤣 but does act more like polyurethane
That turned out great! Love the blending
Thanks so much Adina!
Aah the dreaded custom butterflies, after 4 years I still get them, you rocked her piece girl! 😘😘😘😘
Oh man...its a real thing! thanks friend! 🤗 😘
I LOVE the yummy texture, blending and dimension. It's a beautiful piece.
Sarah, I have watched you grow as a artistison. Just look at what a wonderful piece you have done. It's a Wowza!
Ah Cassie!!!! Thank you friend 🥰

Brenda seriously blessed by you thank you 🥰 it’s definitely a new thing for me. I love it!
I can’t wait until next week. I love when you make over a piece with no specific direction. I’m so excited.
oooo I am so glad Lainnie. I really love it but think its not going to be for everyone 😉
Very nice!! I love the colors!!
Thank you! 😊
It must be a great feeling giving a client exactly what they want 😊😊
Big Keg!!! I was a bloody relief, for sure 😆
