  • It's been a while since I explored an abandoned property and this historic mill in Lawrence Mass delivers . There was a mysterious water sound in the basement that I explore in Part 2 .
Lawrence has a ton of history and I might feature it in another video because of its historic relevance. It was a giant in the industrial revolution and its where many immigrants build their lives and it still is thriving especially with the Latino population.

I'm trying to document the ultimate road trip a task both challenging and rewarding

I believe the textile mills in Lawrence during their heyday were the largest buildings in the world.

the mill on Merrimack St was (maybe still is) the longest mill in the world at 1/4 mile. They have now been converted to lofts.

It KILLS ME to see a building like this, going to shit!! It's obvious that it could be revitalized, and turned back into something, ANYTHING, that offers WORK, and PRODUCTION, and JOBS, and a feeling of self worth, to the people who live and work there!! I would LOVE to have a chance at a life, where I could be of use to someone, who was willing to PAY ME for my time and effort, and give me A JOB at a place like this!! The old architecture is so cool, and I bet, if it was fixed up a little, people would LOVE to have a job there.

It didn't go to shit - it burned. It's been idle because the company that owned it went through all kinds of litigation, and now the City owns it. There are plans for what to do with the property being worked on - city itself is transforming as of late, but they are interested in keeping jobs in the city as much as possible.
