      The building would have lasted forever and stayed as a monument to art. It could have been used as a venue, storage facility, studios etc, but in this bad comedy of life it was turned to dust.

    Awhile back I read some complaints from residents who lived in the Avalon condos that they were cheaply made and noisy (not much soundproofing). Its a shame that nothing else from the Kirkbride building was salvaged (except the façade).

    I'm so confused! If he was conducting a real estate tour, presumably to sell the old hospital buildings, then why does it sound like he is selling their patient care to these people? In addition, I thought that once the patients were all moved over to the Bonner building this facility wasn't used at all! That's what all the reports say. However, based on this video, it looks like they did use a few parts of the big buildings for the patients recreational activities. Is that true?

    • @MikeDijital
      @MikeDijital  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      the gym and the kitchen were the only parts of the building still in use ( the dead center of the kirkbride ) ... I think he was selling the care just to shows how much of a happy fun place it was to people that didnt know the true horrors that went on in the building he's trying to sell. the fellow giving the tour was the admin for tewksbury state hospital at the time

    this is so interesting what a beautiful building it is a shame it is no longer really like this. Also, it was interesting to hear this guy talk but I kind of feel annoyed at how he is almost trying to push that the patients have such great care...and are getting good care in Tewksbury like really??? who is this guy trying to fool into thinking it's not so bad keeping patients in a rotting building with an obvious lack of staff. OMG but needless to say even that was interesting.

    Looks like trying to sell the buildings because of closing sad no one purchased them. Some bad things happened places like this but at same time building's have such great architecture sad to see rot away. Asbestos is one big thing working against these places expensive to remove. Gets to point where building can not be saved. Should be a bill signed called abandoned building act bill signed to stop stuff like this from happening.
