Despite the warm 80°F weather, the sudden downpour catches us off guard. I didn't have waterproof gear, but I don't mind getting wet-I love the rain!

I love rainy days like this. I love throwing on my raincoat, rain hat & rain boots, grabbing my umbrella and heading out into the torrential downpour, stomping through the deep puddles, hearing the raindrops beat down on my umbrella, watching the torrents of rain flow down the front of my raincoat, seeing the flashes of lightning followed by the booming cracks of thunder, there’s no greater sensation in the world for me.

For seven decades, I lived in NY.Born and bred. In 2019 we moved to New Orleans, to my husband's former home in the French Quarter. Funny thing - I had grown so used to the noise of horns honking for no reason, that I naturally (and wrongly) assumed that everywhere else it was the same. I so love driving around New Orleans, where people honk their horns, but for a reason. Not to let off steam and rage at others....Buildings are smaller sized, and nobody gets lost in the shuffle and chaos. Of course it does take some getting used to: I had to deliberately slow myself down, talk slower, move slower, from all my years as a rush rush rush Big Apple gal. But it has been worth it. Good to see my old nabe again....

I don't know why but when it's raining is when i feel the most active. I love biking and hiking in the rain. Whenever there's a storm coming, i see all the people leaving the biking or hiking trails and im the one heading into the dark clouds. I love it.

The best time in summer is to get wet under the rain after a heatwave. I remember one hot day in December on the island long ago, during my teenage years, it was result day , me and my friends we had to meet at school. We had bad news, and suddenly it rained heavily for more than an hour non stop, we couldn't care less but to refresh our minds under the rain. We were soaking wet in our clothes and ran like crazy on the road to seek shelter and to pass our deception from failing. We met our friends and went into a snack bar where we sat to have some refreshments and tried to calm ourselves and discuss ways of what to tell our parents the sour news. But it was our failure to adjust in the future. I will never forget that day. It was one among my many gloomy days.

Currently waiting through Hurricane Helene. Just got back from walking down my neighborhood street in the pouring rain (with no umbrella, just a hoodie).
Stepped through the same puddle while walking up and down the same rise. Came home with soggy shoes but it was worth it. Currently a Highschool Freshman, and enjoying my life. Getting closer to Jesus lately.
I've never been afraid of rain. Rain makes me feel peaceful in our broken world.
Don't be afraid because of a storm. The sun will always shine afterwards. We've been through tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, wars. And yet the sun still shines.
So keep moving forward no matter how hard things get.
And make sure to stop and enjoy the rain 🌧☔️💦
