Unlike Europe, Asia does not have much in common between countries. Similar countries include Korea and Japan, but Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia are completely different. Climate, race, economic power differences between countries, and citizenship are very different.
Wow! I never did think I would be walking with you in flood water! This is incredible! Lots of rain and lots of cars caught up in the driving. I would be afraid to drive in all that water. Are you going to cross over in that knee-deep water? Oh wow! Are the people trying to get home? This is my first time looking at this video. (10-30-2023) It's 12:50 AM. That's so sad. @TerryTheNewsGirl Well, since then, I've had another back surgery, and ive got one more to go (my last one..whoo hoo!) next month. Ive been able to finial walk again since last month, I went from a wheel chair, to a walker, and now I don't need it unless I'm walking a long distance. Thank you so much for asking, that was very nice of you! I don't have any friends, I guess where I was always so sick, and not able walk, I was always looked over, I guess.. so it's always nice to talk to other people, and anybody asking me "how I'm doing" is rare! It means alot to me, and made my day, thank you so much! 😊 ❤️

I wish I could live in a place where it was green and rained like this for days on end, weeks, and months out of the year. I'm good with a day of rain for every day of sunshine. Not violent rain, not wind-driven rain, not torrential monsoon rain, not freezing or cold rain, not rain with thunder that shakes the ground and lightning that you feel pulse through you in every bot, not even a light drizzle. This kind of heavy rains happend here in my country yearly, and the struggle is real when we haven't recovered from the damages if the rain, then here comes another rain. I hope you guys are okay in Seoul and no more heavy rains again..
@@gwot I didn't mean that the amount of rain in Korea was large, but that the intensity of the rain was strong. It doesn't rain often in Korea, but it falls very violently once it falls. I have lived in many countries, but I have never seen a lot of rain fall in a short period of time like Korea. Do you remember the heavy rain in Germany in 2021 that killed dozens of people? It's precipitation was 200mm in 24 hours. The rain was so violent that it was hard to see not only in Germany but also in Europe. However, such rain is so common that it can be seen every summer in Korea. If it rained 200mm a day in Korea or Japan, there would have been no damage. In Far East Asia, the drainage system is much better than in Europe because of the heavy rain. But the rain that fell in Korea this time fell 140mm per hour. In North America and Europe, this strong rain is rarely seen..
@@gwot You know, it rains very often in Ireland and England. It rains every few days in Europe. However, except for the rainy season, it rains only once or twice a month in Korea. But once it falls, a lot of rain falls violently.. The rain in Gangnam fell 140mm per hour..

Looking at a bunch of records, Korean doesn't even make it on any charts regarding rainfall per hour. Deepest condolences for those who lost their lives in the flooding. Flooding is so insidious because it really sneaks up on you. I live in Florida so we are no stranger to hurricanes and heavy rain and we have a saying. "Hide from the wind and run from the water " I hope South Korea will soon recover and not too much has been damaged.

This kind of heavy rains happend here in my country yearly, and the struggle is real when we haven't recovered from the damages if the rain, then here comes another rain. I hope you guys are okay in Seoul and no more heavy rains again..

@@gwot I didn't mean that the amount of rain in Korea was large, but that the intensity of the rain was strong. It doesn't rain often in Korea, but it falls very violently once it falls. I have lived in many countries, but I have never seen a lot of rain fall in a short period of time like Korea.
Do you remember the heavy rain in Germany in 2021 that killed dozens of people? It's precipitation was 200mm in 24 hours. The rain was so violent that it was hard to see not only in Germany but also in Europe. However, such rain is so common that it can be seen every summer in Korea. If it rained 200mm a day in Korea or Japan, there would have been no damage. In Far East Asia, the drainage system is much better than in Europe because of the heavy rain. But the rain that fell in Korea this time fell 140mm per hour. In North America and Europe, this strong rain is rarely seen..
@@gwot You know, it rains very often in Ireland and England. It rains every few days in Europe. However, except for the rainy season, it rains only once or twice a month in Korea. But once it falls, a lot of rain falls violently.. The rain in Gangnam fell 140mm per hour..

Looking at a bunch of records, Korean doesn't even make it on any charts regarding rainfall per hour. AGAIN, before you get all defensive again, YES it was a lot of rain, but as per your first comment, it is not hard to find somewhere that rains more than Korea, in whichever measurement.

Deepest condolences for those who lost their lives in the flooding. Flooding is so insidious because it really sneaks up on you. I live in Florida so we are no stranger to hurricanes and heavy rain and we have a saying. "Hide from the wind and run from the water " I hope South Korea will soon recover and not too much has been damaged.
