  • Developed without compromise, Affinity Photo for iPad is the first full blown, truly professional photo editing tool to make its way onto the Apple tablet. Built from exactly the same back-end as our award-winning desktop version, and fully optimised to harness the full power of the iPad’s hardware and touch capabilities. Affinity Photo for iPad offers an incredibly fast, powerful and immersive experience whether you are at home, in the studio or on the move.
The latest version, 1.6.7, includes a raft of enhancements which make it even more capable of handling a full professional workflow on the go:
    - Save overwrites back to the same location, without needing to create a copy
    - Shoot direct in RAW or HDR from within the app
    - Major upgrades for RAW processing including adjusting shadows, highlights and clarity on RAW images
    - Ability to add your own fonts
    - Opening and editing files in place directly from the iOS Files app
    - A new ‘Solo Layer View’ mode, allowing you to isolate individual layers instantly
    - Further enhancements to the handy Drag & Drop functions introduced with iOS11
    - A new ‘Show Touches’ option to create more detailed screen captures - great for users who create tutorials

What's about a update for desktop user? Affinity begin to remember me of the Adobe time. Adobe make also differences between CC user and buy users. Is that also the politic of Affinity?

Adobe Should learn a little bit from these guys if they want to start making things better. Affinity Photo is hands down the best pro app for photo editing on iPad Pro. Since last year up until now.

    Hello
I have the canon eos m50 (also called canon eos kiss m) it produces the new raw format .cr3.
I think that photo affinity does not support .cr3.
On the other hand, if I convert .cr3 to .dng, does affinity photo iPad support the .dng?

Affinity on iPad uses Apples core RAW engine you can find the list of supported files/cameras here support.apple.com/en-gb/ht207972

Callum So it does not depend on affinity photo but Apple ?
And on Windows, does affinity photo support the raw of the canon eos m50 ( also called canon eos kiss m ) ,the .cr3 ?

Yes it depends on Apple on iPad unfortunately and that camera isn't on our Supported RAW list unfortunately. I work for Affinity so I can say with some degree of certainty :)

I just got the update. I"m hoping on iPad version and computer versions, they can make a quick short cut like with PS, while you are painting that you can quickly sample colors as you go, without having to stop, open the color wheel, sample...then back. I do a lot of sample and paint when retouching and restoring images, and on PS being able to hit the option key (mac) when using the brush tool to quickly get the eyedropper and sample the color where you are with the brush...it makes painting and retouching incredibly fast.
This is about the ONLY deficit I see with Affinity Photo.....

On Windows, when painting with the Brush Tool, I can press Alt and pick any color I want (even from outside the App). I don't know how this works on Mac but you should be able to do so.

just long press with the pencil on the spot you want to sample, easy going ;)

Hmm...Yeah, I just tried on the Mac version I have....didnt' work. But at least I know it is supposed to be possible. I'll research this a bit more.
Thank you for your response on this!!!

OH thank you!! That helps. I wish there was maybe a way to do it with a finger and pencil...to let it quickly know rather than the long hold. But hey, this works for now.
Thank you VERY much for the info!!

I believe you have to hold Option key down to do the same thing I don with the Alt Key on Windows.

akha80 They're working on it. And they're developing the multiple versions of it (macOS and Windows) concurrently, so it's taking them a bit longer than anticipated.
It's coming; we just have to be patient. And honestly, I'm fine with that. I would much rather they take their time and release something quality than speed through it and release a bugged out hack job.
