5% is to be honest better then anything else. I can afford to give away 5% of my revenue to Epic instead of giving unity 100% of my revenue because of their stupid runtime tax
I've been interested in learning game development for awhile now with the unity engine my platform of choice. But with this decision it leaves little reason for me to want to continue pursuing projects with unity. Hopefully unreal doesn't make similar moves in the future and their 5% charge remains on 1mill revenue plus only. Really disappointing but I can only imagine devs who have spent tons of money time and resources into ongoing projects only to see this decision and have to make the choice to cancel their projects. Undoubtedly, dumbest decision they have ever come out with, and will surely destroy them. I'm sure they will survive but it's a goodbye and good riddance to unity for forever
I am kind of thankful that I am still in the stages of just creating assets, rather than in-depth scripting. I've tried both, but I'll be glad to utilize Unreal - even if it would be a bit easier to do what I wanted - on Unity.
Key Point: Unreal charges 1 mill revenue plus only!

this might not affect hoyoverse & niantic cuz they already made billions, but smaller games & their devs will be in trouble
Net loss before adjustment still USD37 share price, world is in a different place 😂 the P/E ratio lopsided
