I own one of these CB1100EX's in Canada. Was released here in 2017 and is now already gone from Honda Canada's website. Went to a motorcycle event last year with several 100,000 motorcycles in attendance. People were clamoring all over my CB1100 as soon as I'd parked. They'd read about it and had seen photos on-line but NEVER saw one in person. I did not see another example of this machine all day in that huge crowd and suspect it will be a collector's item going forward. I actually had a phone call from my selling dealer two days ago to see if I was interested in selling it. Not a chance, yet! I love this bike, and as you stated, the build quality is phenomenal. It's not over the top in power for an 1,100 but it has enough torque in the lower gears to scare me if I don't respect it. As you observed, the fuel economy is exemplary for an 1,140 cc engine. Better than I used to achieve on a 450 Honda Nighthawk.

Own a 2014... Bought it in 2017. It was still sitting on the show room floor, 3 years after they recieved it. $10,999 was original price, purchased for $7700.00. The owner kept bringing me back to it, and I kept saying, not what I want, but when he took almost 3 grand off... I purchased it, and so glad I did... There are maybe 2 others in St. Louis that have one. All that said, it does everything... It goes from liking to be ridden for what it was intended to be... To, yank that throttle, and you better be holding on... I know I've got a classic... Thank you for such a superb video on this bike. I really like the fact that you said, you have to respect it... It never feels like the bike that it is. It will deceive you... SO FREAKIN SMOOTH, but the front end will quickly come off the ground, and it does weigh almost 600 pounds. Sorry so long winded..
Honda's engineering report for this bike is amazing, their attention-to-detail is impressive.

Superb review Makina. I have a 2019 EX and its lovely. Its mega comfortable and soooooo relaxing to ride at normal speeds. Much over 60-65 mph the wind blast gets a bit hard work but no more than any naked bike. Below 65mph its sensational.

I used to own a '14 CB1100EX and upgraded to a whole different beast (Duc Multistrada 1200) but the Honda still is the best looking bike imo, after seeing your video, I realise, I miss it :)

Great way for you to close out 2018 and a great way for me to kick it off! Really appreciate your review and insights. I started out riding in the 1980's with a 650 Nighthawk and this CB1100 looks like an ideal mount to get back into riding! Thanks again!;>
Not overheating in that traffic is a testament to that air cooled engine.
I have a 2013, and I gotta say, I like this bike better than any other I've ever had, and I've been riding for 50 years.

Outstanding review and editing. I upgraded to a 2013 CB1100 from a CB500X recently. it's a dream to ride. Funny to hear people describe it as big and heavy though-- sit on a Vulcan 900 or Boulevard 800 and by comparison it's nothing. The CB1100 holds its weight low and is incredibly manageable.
I guess its manageable to a western person like you plus you have the height for it...its heavy for Asian people like us, we use to ride low displacement super light bikes

Unfortunately im looking into bigger bikes like 400s (400cc+ only sa expressway dba T_T) and the value proposition they would offer for just one guy person commuting to and from work.

Honda nailed it,making this bike very true to the original,and imo, the best looking retro bike on the market.I kind of wish they would have made it shaft drive though.

It's funny you and others describing the CB1100 as a "heavy bike," even giving the weight as "560 pounds," when that is VERY light compared to so many other non-sport bikes out there. My 2014 weighs about 490 pounds dry, 530 wet, which is way less than most other road bikes I considered. True, my Suzuki Bandit 1200 weighs even a little less and has a bit more power, but at much higher revs, making it less relaxing to ride, thrilling as it is. The CB1100 is a great bike for serious riders.

We really need this styling in 400cc. The closest thing that comes to mind is the CB400 NC36.

Nice review, as in well done. I think if I had to ride in metro Manila, I'd want something a bit smaller and lighter, maybe a DRZ400 hahaha. Seriously, I'd be scared to drive in that town.
