Between exposure to my niece & nephew and seeing classmates with kids, for the next few years I had a desire to have kids but restrained myself, knowing it would not go well to be a teen mom. Kenosha was only about 15 miles from his home. In fact you could argue Kenosha was his 2nd home as his dad lived there and he sometimes lived with his dad. It was definitely his "neighbourhood", whereas many of the rioters travelled much greater distances (and with illegal pistols), had no connection to Kenosha at all, and only came because of the Jacob Blake incident and to riot. 2) You can actually travel great distances within ONE state - for example North California to South California - at least 200 miles. 3) It is totally legal to cross state lines in America. You can even transport firearms across state lines perfectly legally - although Kyle didn't even do this .. the gun was already in Kenosha. 4) Funny how leftists bang on about this "state lines" thing, as if state borders carry some "great" significance, but seem largely apathetic to the somewhat permeable national border with Mexico. Colbert and the audience didn't watch the trial . They watched and read the news.
I never thought he WAS guilty. He's certainly an idiot who escalated a tense situation by bringing a loaded, semi-automatic rifle to a protest though. Doesn't mean he intended to go shoot someone that night. It did increase the possibility of someone getting shot though... like you getting into your car to go drive to work increases the chance you'll get into an auto accident... or swimming in the ocean during the evening increases the chance you'll get attacked by a shark... or doing 'extreme' yoga on the edge of a skyrise increases your chances of falling off said skyrise.
He certainly isn't the hero that the right wing is painting him to be and I hope he reflects on the whole situation and learns from the incident instead of deciding that he can carry a gun at all times and shoot people who 'threaten' him in the future... which I could see going to his head if he's extolled as a hero instead of treated like a regular human who made a horrible choice that ended in the taking of the life of another.
@@kyleoates6367 Back in the day, the Romans, Greek, Mongolian, and- even today- Arabic men were warriors. They fought and protected their homeland against anything that might have been vaguely against them. That may have been barbaric, it may not be entirely *correct* by today's standards.
But by contrast with this narrative that "all life should be preserved and saved", it's looking a lot more appetizing than even vaguely pretending to be sad about the death of felons and pedos. Which were the lives taken. And don't get all of us wrong, Kyle's gonna have a lot to work through just after protecting *his* community when the local police force was told to stand down.
What I'm celebrating is the principle. The emotions over the event will simmer down not too long in the future, and what will remain is the precedent. That rioters are not allowed to beat us to death if they come to destroy our livelihoods.
And that the media isn't allowed to demonize us when we do avoid death, lethally and legally. Besides, if those felons feared the gun as they should, they'd still be alive today.
I’m being nitpicky, but technically he was not “proven” not guilty; it was the prosecution’s job to prove him guilty beyond reasonable doubt and they apparently failed to do so.

@@StHappyfaces its also setting up the precedent for anyone who gets into a self defense situation, even if they knowingly put themselves in a high likelihood scenario, to be emboldened to do so. One or both sides now have evidence that they can go into high tension conflicts and push themselves headlong into situations that will be aggravated because of their open carries and eventually tip into self defense territory. For me, Mr Colbert is a consistently unappealing character; arrogant, self-absorbed & not funny.

They don’t even try and hide their hate for your rights. They simply don’t want you to have the right to defend yourself.
“I don’t like that someone defended themselves and was found innocent by a jury of their own peers because of my political partisanship and I believed all of the MSM lies about him so let’s just change the law so people can’t defend themselves anymore!!!!“

51 yr old woman who never had kids. I was in HS in the 80s and saw many of my peers become teen mothers. My older sister was 21 when she had her first child and I was 16 and her 2nd when i was 18. Between exposure to my niece & nephew and seeing classmates with kids, for the next few years I had a desire to have kids but restrained myself, knowing it would not go well to be a teen mom. At 18 I made the decision not to have kids until I reached 3 goals=
1- Be physically mature.
2- Be emotionally mature.
3- Be financially stable, i.e. be able to afford to support children: able to maintain a home even if its renting, food clothing meds ect.
While the first two was reached quickly, I never did reach the 3rd goal. And it was important to me as I grew up with a single mom who wasn't able to afford stuff and often contacted her parents to help out.
Based on your post I would say you failed at #2 as well ... if you actually believe any of the nonsense you just wrote. Sounds more like to me the left brainwashed you into not having kids. Sadly. Change the laws? The whole reason he was there was because the police weren't doing anything while neighborhoods where being torched. Laws have to be enforced and if they were none of this would have happened.

I lost my respect for Colbert here. Kyle never fired on a single person that didn't try to kill him but go ahead and keep repeating the same lies created by the media.
The thing is he had no business being there. Self defense? Yes. But he still had no good reason to bring a gun or even be at the riot in the first place. So he still isn’t a hero
@@Fundemons
What legitimate reason did everyone else there have to bring a hot weapon, then?
@@WAEVOICE None. My point is he is no hero. Whether it was self defense or an act of aggression, Kyle is not a hero. And no, no one else needed to bring a weapon

I'm convinced Stephen Colbert was the one who asked youtube to remove dislikes.
There's many reasons not to have children it's you life and your choice. No one should ever feel forced to have kids.
Maybe not, but people are going overboard with encouraging people not to have kids.
Don't move to Texas.
And YET if you're a woman in deep pain because of periods and say, at 20, at 30, you don't want kids...the medical establishment will deny you surgery you need to not be in crippling pain for 7-8 days a month...until age 37. "Because you might change your mind." About something you plainly stated since age 18. #MisogynyInMedicine
btw, yes those years of monthly pain significantly did limit my employability, not that doctors ever cared about pain, missing work and opportunities being in pain SO MUCH of the time. I take donations and legit wfh/remote leads (no sales/kids/mlm, must have healthcare) from being in extended poverty for BS reasons.
@@KitC916- Exactly, knew when I was little that I didn't want kids and when I turned 18, wanted my tubes tied and the Dr. wouldn't do it cuz he said I was too young and might change my mind. Then when I married a marine, went to have the military doc do it and he said first I had to be married at least 10 years cuz I might change my mind, plus I needed permission from my husband. From what I understand, it's still the same rules 40 years later. Misogyny is still alive and well.
@@KitC916 if you are in "extended poverty," that is your own fault. Learn a skill or get a man. Our economy was not made to support one person working minimum wage.
If someone tried to physically take your bodyguard's gun from them would you be ok with them just letting them? Especially when that person had threatened to kill you?
No, you wouldn't. You would be perfectly OK with your bodyguard protecting themselves and you by shooting the criminal.
So tired of Democrats and elites Hypocrisy.
Seriously, Colbert lives a lifestyle where these riots dont affect him while the rest of us have to deal with daily crime, the threat of home invasions, etc. And then to add riots and looting? Burning of businesses? Of cars and destruction of property? And his solution to this is basically nerf self defense so we can be at the mercy of the mob. Thanks colbert, nice to know you want us to just roll over and die and leave our children to be taken by the rosenbaums of the world without a fight.
False equivalency, Kyle Rittenhouse was not a bodyguard. He was the aggressor crossing state lines and bringing an AR-15 to a group of protestors. He approached them first.
Barney obviously your brainwashed... Rittenhouse was not the aggressor at a RIOT where everything was being destroyed and burnt down! If Rittenhouse hadn't have put out the dumpster fire at the gas station probably a lot more would have died that night
@@barneys4236 Oh please, give over with the "crossing state lines" BS!!! WHAT exactly is the significance of that? Absolutely NONE!
1) If people keep spouting this "crossing state lines" nonsense to try and imply that Kyle travelled a great distance, then that would be false.
Hmmm....
@@barneys4236 Kyle carring protection is = Colbert having someone else carry on his behalf. Both are for defense. Open your mind just a tad and think for yourself
