I have had one of those days, limited out in less than an hour. Very cool to say the least. That’s is the best way to cook Coho . That was awesome brought me back twenty years, thank you very much.
Thanks Kyle for not sharing your location! A few years ago a young youtuber posted a video showing a video like this and had firestorm from the locals which was quite understandable! Aside from that, your videos are very entertaining and educational! keep up the great work on your content
Hell yea man!! Looks like one hell of time coho fishin I caught two kings this year 33 and 37 I love fishing for Salmon! I use the same seasoning roasted garlic and herb for everything! Especially trout!!!
My two buddies and I were on the drift boat parked on that Island down river from you that morning. What a day! I am glad you brought a camera to document it! Tight lines guys!
I dont think it was the Manistee. Im guessing it starts with a P and ends with an E. Draw your own conclusions lol. Im not gonna get accused of spot burning :D
Dude you are HILARIOUS!!! You remind us what fishing is about.....fun first, catching second! I'm going to make it out there to go with you at least one time when I visit my boy Danny Colville. Keep up the Great work.🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Awesome video my man. Thats an epic push of fish. Thats what every fisherman dreams of, fresh fish like that that haven't been pounded on already. And salmon on charcoal, the best. The recipe you boiled and then fried, I tried that and that may be one of my favorites. Keep up the hard work and stay safe brother!!✌
I've really got to enjoy your videos within the last month, I bet I've watched at least 30 or more already. I live in Colorado and there's decent fishing but nothing like what you have. I really love your dog Oli 🐕 and your boat is nice! Especially that motor! I'm getting ready to head for Homer Alaska for 10 days and can't wait, I leave August 4! I saw that one you did just recently and it made me more excited. Keep making those delicious meals 😋
Bro please try this lure. We slay Coho in the PNW with this one. Run it off a swivel with a 3 foot leader and at the most a 1/8 ounce weight. Reel the the lure back very slow, just enough to make it flutter in the water on the return.
fun video!!!! I really want to go to a river and learn to fly fish. Salmon is probably my favourite food so I'd love to catch one myself. I live in Australia and I think way down south has salmon in rivers.
Great video Kyle . I enjoy watching your videos. Since you like to cook salmon, and for all the salmon lovers out there, try my recipe and tell me what you think. In a small sauce pan add lemon juice and butter with a generous amount of Italian Herb Seasoning (from Alden Mills, Alden, Michigan. You can order it on line). Bring to a boil then let cool (I put the pan in cold water for a few minutes) then pour over the salmon in a Pyrex or sided pan. Get your coals going and make your rice (optional) if you want. In another sauce pan (I just use the same pan) I make a simple sauce (optional) that I learned from my son Steve who was a chef at a five star restaurant before he passed away. Add butter and sauté diced onion or shallots then add cappers, artichoke hearts, outer portion of tomato (we also used sun dried tomatoes). Use anything you want. Add white wine and a splash of lemon and reduce. Start whisking in butter, lots of it. Salt and pepper to taste. Now it’s time to grill that salmon. Season with Miracle Blend, (also from Alden Mills, Michigan made!) and course black pepper. I add some wood chips to my coals. Place skin side down on aluminum foil and cook. When done the salmon will come right off the skin. Place the salmon on rice(optional) and add the sauce (optional) on top of the salmon. I believe the secret to this recipe is the spices from Alden Mills and of course the sauce! Enjoy! Gene Tironi Clinton Twp, MI
Nice video, Kyle! I was on the Platt river that same weekend, and the pods were HUGE coming in consistently. Sorry if i missed this, but did we happen to be on the same river that day? Awesome videos, please keep the content goin! Would love to come fish with ya sometime. Looks fun! 🎣🎣
I always bring some oecan wood chips or cherry or hickory or whatever woochips you like and i throw em on the coals. Adds some good flavor. Try not to pile the woods chips into a pile toigh or you get vig flames instead of smoke
Kyle great vid man!!just wondering what river this is because I would love to find cohos like this, but I’m not sure if the big manistee has coho pods like in this vid
We don’t have any inside scoop. We just go out and fish when we want to fish and the conditions look good. Don’t get me wrong, we often have failed attempts.
@@AdventureChasing I’ll be fishing that same river this weekend in hopes I get the timing right, lots of times in the past everything is stacked up at the weir and they haven’t been released. I’ve always found fishing that lower section is very tough unless you get the timing just right. Is it just me or are they a little on the smaller side this year?
Yes, very little if any natural reproduction with Coho. However, all of the returning fish will be milked at the hatchery and it’s nice to see the large adult fish make it back👍
That river is Alaska like. I hit it once on a day like that where fish were moving and there was cloud cover. Magic! The trick to hammer coho on the spinner is to retrieve as slow as you can to have the blade barely spin. If the blade stops thumping, set the hook.
How difficult is it to get a kayak down to the water? At 60 YO, I’m not as light footed as I once was. I’d fish from the bank if needed but what a adrenaline rush it is to catch ho’s and kings from a kayak.
where abouts is this? because I live in vancouver Canada, and we cant fish coho here until November first, I WISHHH i could be out there slamming silvers right now man!!!!

I’m glad you enjoyed it🙂 You have to cherish those kind of days for sure!
Great video! Thanks mother nature to give all of these to us.

It was great to see everyone getting into fish and having a good time. That’s what it’s all about👊
@@AdventureChasing absolutely! That was the second time in 10 years we've been able to catch that run on the river, and it was awesome!
@@WrathOfN8 what river were h boys on looked like a great day, big manistee?, thanks

Coho is my favorite. Kyle u rock! Nothing like fresh coho!
Thank you Pete! They’re hard to beat😁
Looks like a great time!! Been up there before hole looks 15’ but it’s not just loaded with fish. Great job and as always great video

Sounds like braid, nice mild weather has made it easier keeping everything from freezing. Nice Hole Kyle!
This is like every fisherman 🎣 heaven
Awesome, there were hundreds of cohos in that hole, would you consider making video describing your boat?
That was a blast to watch. Outstanding, as always!
So fun fishing in rivers when you can see the fish coming up the river.
No doubt!
Awesome time you hit that just right the river was full of fresh cohos loved the adventure

Great Coho day !!
Nice Catch!!!
I laughed when you said must 😉😂 be 30 Cohos coming through !! More like 300 plus!! Fun 😊 time when that happens!
😂
Great video!!! Question- what brand of split shot do you use on your float setup?
Holy shit that's my duuude!! In the yellow kayak standing up landing them! BEAST!

I had a morning like this on this river with my uncle a couple years ago. They were just rolling up through in massive clouds. Skein bite was good

Funtime fishing 🎣 👌
Just keep catching!!
What a blast!
We thought so too😁
Now just saying, just bait , no wait, Bait,))) Fish On,,👍🙉👊
What river do you fish?
Kyle is this the fish farm you were telling me about?
How do you guys get the inside scoop on when they open the weir ???
We don’t have any inside scoop. We just go out and fish when we want to fish and the conditions look good. Don’t get me wrong, we often have failed attempts.
@@AdventureChasing I’ll be fishing that same river this weekend in hopes I get the timing right, lots of times in the past everything is stacked up at the weir and they haven’t been released. I’ve always found fishing that lower section is very tough unless you get the timing just right.
Is it just me or are they a little on the smaller side this year?
platte?
I thought only the Chinook have been successful at spawning up there. Have you heard anything lately about the coho producing viable smolts?
Yes, very little if any natural reproduction with Coho. However, all of the returning fish will be milked at the hatchery and it’s nice to see the large adult fish make it back👍
What was the bait y’all used
Can we use trebles on the spinners there or did you switch to single hook?
Single hook only👍
Can you catch these of a fly rod ?
That river is Alaska like. I hit it once on a day like that where fish were moving and there was cloud cover. Magic!
The trick to hammer coho on the spinner is to retrieve as slow as you can to have the blade barely spin. If the blade stops thumping, set the hook.
Your are right. That’s how we got them to bite! They were hitting it on a slow retrieve on with pauses mixed in.
Man there was more fish in that river than all of Colorado and that's no BS Kyle. Another amazing episode. Ha😂😂
We hit it on the right day!
what part of the river
Did you downsize your line from the king setup?
Yes, I ran 10lb test fluorocarbon leader for coho👍
What River is that
does anybody know what river?
This river has been great this year for my buddies and i
platte?
Man, it's been an absolute beat down up there too!
It’s great to see good fishing across the entire coast of Lake Michigan, Superior and Ontario!
You guys killed it. We’re you taking the eggs out of the fish you just caught and using it without cure?
Yes! Coho’s love fresh uncured eggs sometimes.
@@AdventureChasing awesome. I’ll remember that and maybe use it this year! Really enjoying your vids, keep it up!
Where are u guys?
Man they sure weren't there like that this weekend😮
They were spread out throughout the entire system. We hit it on a good day this trip🙂
Nice
There were a couple of fish there😁
Just a couple😂
Awesome
Clear egg bobber's work They don't have the drifting capabilities but fish don't see them..
Is this mochigan
Thank you! Glad you enjoy it👍
@@AdventureChasing Thank you very mutch... have a nice Start of the week.... see you….
Great video but I don’t think you are allowed with spinners on the river
Lions got beat today! GO HAWKS!! Nice coho fest, guys!!!!
We felt the pain after that loss😅 Great game and two good teams.
wow talk about good fishing those coho holes were loaded

Super easy access Drop in at the boat launch at the shallows and float to the mouth. There is another launch near the mouth to pull out
hit em wit dat red lobster

I thought Yoopers were all Packers fans.
Lions #1 and Packers #2!
Wow ! Things have changed since my last trip there a few years ago.
Ive seen quite a few Western yoopers be Vikings fans
must be in murica cuz those aren't clipped and they are stringing them...shrug
