13:25 it makes sense, Porsche feels hurt and confused, Kinn punishing him also makes him feel betrayed. Kinn is feeling guilty and he looks/feels disgusted with himself.
I found the writing exceptionally realistic in this episode, especially how Kinn and Porsche handle (or don’t ) their emotions. In my experience, when men feel strong and especially confusing emotions, they tend to stuff them. Also, men aren’t always that good at identifying exactly what they are feeling. Unlike women, many men don’t want to talk about how they are feeling, especially if they are upset. They withdraw emotionally and want to be left alone. Sometimes troubling emotions can make them feel vulnerable and, at least on Porsche’s part, this is frightening since he already feels victimized. I felt the writing here was spot on. I can’t wait to see how things develop now that our boys look primed to have a dangerous adventure together in the wilds of rural Thailand.
Yeah it’s such a sad reality how the way men are socialised can cause so many emotional issues I really enjoy how they approach the topic. The writing is incredible in this show!

Kinn mask is about control and dominance, he retreats to it when he wants control. He also pushes Porsche away by inserting control and putting him down.
Porsche's mask is humour and being goofy, which he isn't using in this episode.

yeah, it hurts like hell, when the other man entered the room and Porsche left heartbroken. i shed some tears on that scene as well. Man, this episode hit hard and right in the feels :(

I was cringing right along with you when Vegas and Porsche were together. What Vegas is doing is so twisted it hurts. It takes a truly messed up person to drug someone with the sole intent of assaulting them, and then come to them like nothing happened. It makes me hungry for more information about what happened between Kinn and Vegas and why he feels the need to hurt Kinn. Because I'm pretty sure whatever happened between Kinn and his ex-lover Vegas had his filthy hands all over it .
As for Porsche, I think his head and emotions are all over the place. I think he's confused, hurt and feeling betrayed. But what hit for me in a very solid way was when he said Kinn doesn't care for him and has never cared for him. Kinn keeps telling him that Porsche's life belongs to him, like he's a piece of property and therefore disposable and "replaceable". The fact that neither of them could go through with having sex is very telling, especially for Kinn, it illustrates that Porsche has really gotten under his skin, and there is probably a level of care there which he hasn't felt in a very long time (and I think it scares him, because it gives Porsche power over him ). I say that because I think Kinn uses sex as an escape from the life he's living. It's telling for Porsche because it suggests that it's not just panic and confusion. The fact that it hurts him because he feels Kinn doesn't care about him tells me, he has feeling for Kinn. Feelings he probably doesn't fully understand and is confused by but feelings that are deeper than even he thought.
It seems to me Porsche has spent his life especially, after his parents died, being a care giver. I think he's never really felt secure, because that feeling of being taken care of was taken from him so early in life.

@@cherrypick4930 First, Kinn doesn't know exactly what happened to Porsche before he got in the room. He told Porsche he got there before anything happened, and I think he believes that. Second, until we hear otherwise we don't know that Porsche feels he was r*ped (that's a projection you're putting on Porsche that he may not feel). What we know from what we were shown in this episode is that he is hurt and confused. What we also know is what Porsche told Kinn when he told him he doesn't feel Kinn cares about him. If he felt in any way that Kinn assaulted him, why would he care if Kinn "cared" about him ?
Let me make this very clear. I'm not saying Porsche doesn't feel like Kinn assaulted him. I'm saying that hasn't been made clear. And it may never be made clear because Porsche may not actually feel that he was. He may be confused as to why it happened, why he has feelings for Kinn, why it matters to him if Kinn cares for him or not and what all of it means.
Vegas on the other hand has motives that are a bit more clear. In that we can see whatever he's doing with Porsche it's to mess with Kinn's head. From his own mouth we heard him say he wanted to put his stamp on Porsche because it would drive a paranoid person like Kinn nuts. He knows Kinn has a soft spot for Porsche, and he's trying to exploit that it the worst kind of way.
Just saying.
Much as I know Vegas is a snake in this era I think they both (Vegas and Porsche) needed that time out (and the hug). Vegas' face is so genuine when he hugged Porsche and knowing his background he needed that from someone.
I'm so excited for the forest arc and knowing that they are handcuff together is a chef's kiss

Understood, Porsche and Kinn must have been uncomfortable with the relationship that had been going on while Porsche was drugged. I, as a viewer of the series, have the same feelings for both of them. The progression of the story began to become more intense. excited about the relationship between the two Anyway, I want it to be Saturday every day. See you next ep. 1. I think Kinn has had a bad experience before where he fell for a bodyguard. That's what I feel they keep referring to.

I think kinn fell in love with one of the bodyguards. Remember Pete said kinn used to love them. Now he is cold to them. I think the guy used kinn to hurt the family. He was probably sent there by one of the minor familys. Which would explain why the father said we almost lost everything. Kinn does not trust anyone after what happen. Love your reactions! Thanks!
Her reactions are so pure cause she hadn't read the novel...it takes me back when I first read the book all those angust and saddness for Porsche and Pete hatred for Vegas and rage for Kinn...the only wrong thing I've done is I reread the book and now even if I want I can't hate any single one of them😭 all left in me is amusement and curiosity that how each of them all gonna rollout the characters on screen and they're doing so good so far😊

Porchay is 18 I think. You graduate at 17/18 in Thailand and he's applying for college. The actor who plays him actually JUST turned 18 today literally. I just googled. XD

I have a feeling Kim is going to be the Nie Huisung of this show. I wonder what he knows that everybody else doesn't. (Novel reader please do not confirm or deny this assumption, I want to find out as the show goes)
Also the guy who plays Kim, Jeff Satur, is a singer irl. He only started acting comparatively recently. He was in He She It, and Ingredients. Ingredients is super cute and fluffy and I highly recommend it.

Kinn only know much; with that being said, series is really going along with the storyline. Its has some twists and turns that most viewers will appreciate.
don't worry, i think theyre gonna talk about the incident PROPERLY in the next episode/s (forest scene). i have trust on the writers. im excited how are they going to portray kp trying to survive in the jungle, witnessing eo's hidden sides, and being chaotic bc of their stupidity.

Yep, so he's not allowed to do any intimate scenes such as kissing until he's 18. That was the same as in Manner of Death with Putter, he played Sorawit (Sorn).
Thanks god this is how I pictured this episode in my mind. For those who said that it was consensual sex, here's your answer: an episode full of shame, anger and hurt. ' but Porsche was fighting Vegas' of course! He's a survivor, he won't go down without a fight; besides He didn't recognise Vegas it was blurry. The situation was different with Kinn, it's a question of trust: I don't think Porsche would believe that the person who fought the first time in fairly circumstances would take advantage of him in his worst moment. Also the lesser evil it doesn't mean the right choice.

@@karisworldgaming4832 that’s exactly what it was , whether he enjoyed it or not and I think that’s the turmoil that Porsche is feeling because before the incident Porsche wasn’t really upset about the kiss and was actually starting to bond with kinn, so any assumptions or possibilities he would’ve had went out the window the moment kinn did what he did . I think kinn kind of understand now that what he did was wrong,he seem really conflicted when he stared at his reflection almost as if he saw a monster.

Hear me out, what Porsche is going through, it is not just gay panic. First he got drugged, kidnapped, his hands tied up, thrown on a bed and almost SAed by Vegas. Then he had his first time with a man while still being severely drugged, unabel to consent. He woke up in a bed, naked, confused, not remembering clearly but feeling that something had happened to him, to his body, it hurt. He was told that everything was his fault, that he had to be punished. They tied up his hands, made him crawl on the ground half naked while they were standing over him, humiliating him. His body hurt, memories came back in fragments. Kinn told him that he owned him, that he can do with him whatever he wants. Then the man he fell in love with replaced him like a used and broken toy.

This episode was really critical for me. Because what happened in the last episode between them, and specifically the WAY that it happened I felt could actually work really well with this story, with the complicated and very uneven power dynamics of their relationship mixed with who Kinn is and what he wants vs who he has to be, and how he would feel about such a drastic and blameworthy break in control from himself. But it was all going to depend on how it was handled afterwards, and I am very glad about the angle they took with it.
I get so anxious just looking at those flat-edged pools, especially when they are right up to the end over a ledge or balcony. How am I supposed to want to swim in water that looks like it's going to pour me right over a cliff?

I don’t think its gay panick man. Don’t you think maybe Porsche feels violated? This is something people need to be able to understand.
Violated? I don't believe so and THAT's why he's feeling so tortured. I think he thinks he should feel violated but he feels something else entirely and he's confused by it and I think a little ashamed of it too. If they wanted to get across that he felt violated the flashbacks would be depicted differently. Instead his flashbacks are always of him moaning in passion and of Kinn's body. I believe that it's a deliberate choice that they've made to have Porche and Kinn have the same flashbacks while trying to sleep with other people. Both are undeniably feeling something for each and both are unhappy about it.

But was Porsche into it- also yes. It's a moral Grey area, but that's what sets this show apart- it's not all cute and fluffy. It's angsty and real.

Loved your reaction and discussion!!!! New sub! I am very happy how they started the episode with Porshe being worried about being drugged and having enemies and less about being with Kinn (Gay panic as you rightly said- which he still does not understand but will figure that out after). Apo's emotions in the beginning were EXCELLENT! Kinn truly pissed me off this episode as he started sweet and then because of reputation and his past not wanting to be hurt again or hurt Porshe he became a total asshole. Porshe was just sooo hurt by Kinn in so many ways this episode. Thank lord for Pete as he saved the entire ship when he spoke out to Kinn about dealing with Porshe and I was happy to see how Kinn took the lesson and tried to be better (but my oh my did he struggle hahahahahaha). They really like each other and seeing them both not be able to sleep with others was sooo good! I thought Kinn would have been able to but I am glad he wasn't. I hope they get to talk through this next week. Regardless of what anyone says, VEGAS PLAYED THE ROLE OF BOYFRIEND IN THIS EPISODE PERFECTLY!!! He knows how to manipulate people and he does it very well and is very hot and sweet with it as well so we just can't hate him but I know when he starts showing his true colors it is going to get really bad. I hated seeing how Kim was trying to manipulate Chay but I am glad in the end he decided to help him and I hope he does not remain that paranoid but we need to know his back story to see why he behaves like this! 18:50 yesssss Kim sitting like that was just sooo hot!!! What a great show and episode!

I don't really understand how they got lost in the forest if the car tracking them was right behind them? Unless they thought it was more bad guys and they ran or something.
My guess is they had no way to know who was attacking the van and took the opportunity to escape, not realizing it was a rescue. Hopefully the opening of the next ep clarifies

About your question about Porchay and Kim's ages. I can't be sure, but judging by the fact Porchay is visiting universities, I think he may be around 17/18. I'm not sure how old Kim is. The one thing I know for sure is that Barcode is 17 (turning 18 in August) and Jeff is 27. That being said I don't know if Thai students begin to tour universities younger than 18 but if he's starting to prepare for the faculty's admission process, I imagine he can't be much younger.

I understand why he was punished though. He wasn't taking his job seriously and needed to be taught a lesson. They do it all the time in the military, bring you down to bring you back up a stronger person. And since working for Kinn is practically the same as being in a war, he should have gotten this treatment, as I'm sure many of them had to as well.

Okay, so I just found your channel (and I've just watched all your KP reactions), and I am absolutly loving you ❤ You're like 1:1 saying every word I am thinking and with the same energy 😆
Also, what's your thought on Thankun? Because after watching this episode I really feel like we might be underestimating him due to his eccentric and ecstatic behaviour. The way he is trying to sus out what Kim might have found, when they were talking in the garden really made me suspicious. Like is he faking it?

is it gay panic or is it that he couldn't fully consent and so doesn't fully remember? he woke up and asked what happened to him and didn't get a real answer. i know they kind of address it later but to me this scene where he realizes what happened to him is powerful to me because it shows that he really really wasn't fully himself.

I don't even know if that sequence smoking in the bathroom is gay panic
Maybe part of it, but I think he's feeling so so much pain: he's still only in the mafia for Chay at the moment, so he's already going through a lot just being there. Then because of being there, he's drugged, almost raped, then IS had sex with by a guy he was starting to trust, and on top of that very wrong doing and border crossing on, I would say not proper consent - he liked it. Like, in another context, he would have liked it.
So if he had been taken sober, under definitive consented settings, he could have dealt with the bi-awakening in a healthy and progressive way, exploring this new side to himself and processing how he feels and his enjoyment having sex with a man. But that joy was taken by Kinn, by having absolutely shit restraint (he's heir to the mafia family and a very controlled person, he could have stopped himself if he wanted) and selfishness, and probably insecurity (that feeling of "will porsche never want this sober, and therefore will this be my only shot").
So, on top of all that Porsche is processing, mentally and physically and in his soul, being drugged and enjoying sex with a _MAFIA BOSS_ bear in mind - something he does not like - while knowing his dignity was somewhat taken because he was taken advantage of - on top of _ALL THAT_ - that very person who took it all from him now punishes him.
That's pure cruelty.
And he has noone to turn to, because Kinn is all of their bosses and holds much of their will - and paychecks.
So he's suffering all of this pain, confusion, feelings, and frustration alone.
Then of course, later he just feels like a used tool, an object. And now can barely take comfort in what he used to enjoy sexually, with women - because of his new found lust, feelings, pain, and trauma associated with sex with Kinn.
And of course Kinn fully acknowledges all of this next episode. But in my mind, this is everything that Porsche is going through - I think it's a lot more than a gay panic, in fact I don't even think he's really panicking at all about his sexuality. He's just feeling a whole lot, and isn't given any help processing or given any faireness or kindness this episode.
Which is why that whole sequence in the bathroom with the cigarette is so so so well acted on Apo's part, because in a single sequence of memories and expression of them - he conveys it all. Beautifully done.

I watched this episode and I always thought ... I mean it felt like it like they were talking about the matter without actually talking about it...like I'm pretty sure they were both implying the sex situation but they never called it as it is...they would say it's about the punishment and whatnot..but it always felt like they were both aware of the actual problem and they were tacitly talking about it. Also...Porsche gay panic is not nice at all...this was pretty soft and toned down, but the novel is worse, mostly bc the sex itself was brutal and the after-effects were stronger, but he still can't get kinn out of his head tho. Also, Porsche from the novel was in total denial...this one is more open, I don't actually think this moment of struggle is bc he did it with a boy but bc of the consent situation we've been arguing about the whole last week.

that's not gay panic, that's trauma. He was under drugs when he had sex, it's SA. Part of liking dark works is admitting when dark sht happens, like one protag SAing the other.
