Hey Dean, always fun to watch another 240 fan battle with that bloody fuel sender 😂 I'm pretty sure i live in "The North" and that jobs a b**ch. Yes we still call them Banjo bolt or Banjo fitting. Cheers dude 🤘
Hey Dean! I wonder if dropping the tank would be less stressful 😅. Hope you didn't drop a lot of crap into the tank doing stuff🤣. Yep. They are called banjos .... even in Europe 😂
Good to see that people are still working with the 240. My 85' 240 has a 338 V8 with 400HP and the stock fuel pump works fine. I think I had the In-tank one upgraded with an IPD one (Same size). I still have 1 ball from old sending units still floating in the tank
I'm the process of swapping the 255 out for a 450 as I just bought a procharger for my built 5.3... which means I now need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with 1:1 rising rate vac source to replace the Corvette filter/regulator that runs a static 58psi... If you don't want to use braided hose you can use 3/8 evil energy fuel line $43 for 25ft.. and some push lock fittings with clamps to convert to female or male AN fittings.
That was one badly installed pre-pump you started with. Seems to me it would have been cheaper and easier to just fix the pre-pump and install a new main pump. Don't think of me as a negative Nancy that plagues these kind of shows with my arm chair quarterback quips. That is not me and I hate those guys. Thank you for the content.
You know, i think about that everytime i use that thing as a work bench. Its higher than a regular table so its good to lean against and look closely at what im doing. Also, I dont have space inside for a table so its convenient that its out of the way until I need it.

So its true! They are still banjo fittings across the pond!
Dean, you’re still a Volvo rockstar! Thank you!
@@davidblood9882 thanks very much David!! Nice to see you watching some of the older content. Very appreciated!!
The pumps in my 90 244 just took a dump on me today, looks like I finally get to do this! Excellent video.
It happens to the best of us! I feel like I do fuel pumps and head gaskets more than anything.

I did vacuum the too before opening. Im not sure id want to fight with the filler neck if i dropped it
I have the 255 and have to upgrade to the 450 pump and 800cc injectors. 700hp procharged LS..
Yup. That’ll require a little extra fuel Id imagine

We absolutely love our tanks! For you I’d say your next bet should be the hellcat pump and then boost it!
Sounds quite healthy.
Still does a burnout! Can’t complain
use a yardstick and measure the depth to tank bottom and setup pump accordingly.
That seems like a very scientifically accurate way to do it.
Can i just solder the new pump power wire to the original intank pump power wire
Technically yes you can though the amp load could be too much for stock wiring
That's what we did with my LS build.. and ran a filter with 6an on both ends with some 6an to 3/8 barb fitting for the fuel line.

did you have to run the relay? or could u just connect the positive and negative to the orginal intank pump wiring
I ran an independent relay and power source.
@@DeanofMachines what was the purpose? Do I need it?
Burnout in the garage. Your home-insurance company is bookmarking this video for future evidence.
They love it I’m sure!
It was clearly an accident
Hahaha 😂 it's never cookies.
Number one way to break someones heart.

It’s all good! The point with this was to replace the undercar pump and try something different. I hadn’t run a larger single pump before.
Why are trash cans the ultimate work bench
