If you watched puig come into the league and take it by storm and you happen to be of Hispanic or Latin heritage you know the impact he had will never be forgotten. Dudes were haters that someone who went against the grain and played by his own rules got so much attention. He was a unit with ease and was also a great person with a big heart and lots of issues you tell me how many people would have made it through all that to come out the other side as successful as he did. I went to his debut game and had no idea who he was didn't even know he was debuting and I just felt like I witnessed something special he is too good not to be in the MLB
Seems it doesn’t matter if you did or did not do something you were accused of, if you even get accused, even if found innocent or no criminal Charged see filed…your career is over.
A recommendation I have is to show more highlights while you talk and just some normal plays he made instead of same clips for 2-4 times other than that You’re perfect❤️
Dude was jailed, banned from baseball in his own country, risk his life to get to America, only to get kidnapped and auction off like a slave and then finally making it into the U.S. after all he's been through, that chip on his shoulders, he gets a pass.
As a Reds fan I gotta say he is one of my favorite players ever, there wasn't another player on the reds that had the balls that guy did, just fighting when fighting was needed
How many stars were forcefully taken out from baseball just because unwritten rules especially "don't have flairs or you'll be hated", this is why baseball will never be THE sport.
This was absolutely fantastic. This content was way better than most stuff on major television networks. Your narration was excellent as well! Great editing and the story was delivered with perfect pace and somehow the music didn't even enjoy me even though it was repetitive it all worked just right. Subscribed!
This seems like a pretty clear example of how we as a society should value "innocent until proven guilty". He was accused of something terrible. Really terrible. However he hasn't been found guilty, we haven't let both sides argue the case equally. All we have is one side making an accusation which could be a lie, is often a misunderstanding, and we have ruined the man's life over it without any real evidence. It shouldn't be on him to bring a lawsuit to prove his innocence. Guilty until proven innocent doesn't work, otherwise anyone can be found guilty of anything.
Very true , in some ways. However , I don't think this applies to Puig. When a man lives a certain way and cultivates a certain reputation , he has to accept that while unfair if false, he has left himself open to an attack on his character. Public opinion has and will always work faster than the legal system , and that has both good and bad merits.
I remember when Kenta Maeda joined the Dodgers Puig was already there and I knew he was wild man. But I saw him congratulate Maeda’s first start with huge smile and a hug. That act might be from sympathy he felt that both came from overseas. But he seemed to be such a nice guy. So I think at least he has pure sensitive heart in him

All of MLB needs to watch this. Yes Puig was cocky and immature in his first couple years but he became better and did soo much for the communities. He deserves a second shot at the majors
This is the best baseball channel on youtube by far in my opinion. The research is incredible. The stories told are incredibly entertaining and the voiceover is amazing. Thank you for your hard work.
I remember being so excited when I heard the orioles were considering signing him
You thought he’d be one of the greatest ever the way he started out.
Makes coming up through the minors like a walk in the park. Incredible story.
As a dodgers fan never was so excited about a prospect as I was for Puig
If you watched puig come into the league and take it by storm and you happen to be of Hispanic or Latin heritage you know the impact he had will never be forgotten. Dudes were haters that someone who went against the grain and played by his own rules got so much attention. He was a unit with ease and was also a great person with a big heart and lots of issues you tell me how many people would have made it through all that to come out the other side as successful as he did. I’m sure it’s all been a very humbling experience for him but there’s a reason he’ll be the only Dodger player ever whose jersey I own and supported.
As a Dodger fan, I do miss Puig. I was at game 4 of the 2018 World Series against Boston when he hit that home run and man… that moment was amazing to witness in person. Still have the video on my phone 😁
Never stop making these videos man, they’re awesome
I remember him for that one clip where ryu hit him with a bat
*bonk* lol
@Grayson Newsome 🤘
To me he is a legendary of the Dodgers, I remember sitting right field side he hit a go ahead home run against the Rockies and every time he went to his position you chant his name he'll wave to crowd, it must have been a special time to be in America for him coming from Cuba.
I’ll never understand how a Cuban could sue another Cuban about things that happened in Cuba, in an American court.
I don't even like Baseball but for some reason watch all your videos
Ya'll should watch some baseball, its so good.
@@FrogOf4Chan Idk I find intrigue with the sport but its way too slow for my liking
@@butterxo3094 I understand that
Beisbol is bae
Can’t like something that doesn’t exist.
The loudest I ever heard a stadium was when Puig hit a homer in a September game in 2014 at Dodger Stadium. It was electric!
Kiddie show compared to Mattingly hitting the homer in the 1995 alcs
@@RobotAdolf I’m sure you troika weren’t even born for either game you mentioned.🙄
Kiddie show* when compared to Bonds breaking the home run record*
@@abtwopoint0 And I suppose you were there for that like 2 million other people.🙄
@@mpaulm we were all being sarcastic, did you not get the memo?
Puig is so unique and iconic. I want him back
Bring him back to the dodgers
@@anthonyabarca108 yh
@@anthonyabarca108 to do the same crap,is playing in Mexico ans is the same stupid guy doing stupid things.
Dodgers really have no need for him.
@@dannycass7931 seeing as how they won a World Series last year it’s like what’s the point on resigning a guy who has so much drama associated with him
I'm not sure why Puig didn't just pay off the smugglers on the day that first Dodgers check cleared in his bank account. If this impeccably-curated documentary addressed that, I guess I missed it while processing the cyclone of events comprising this man's existence. Excellent storytelling on a complex and endlessly fascinating topic by the crew here.
I remember seeing Baseball Doesn't Exist's video on Trevor Bauer being controversial, to now. Damn, this channel has grown and I've loved seeing its progress. Keep up the AMAZING work BDE, it makes my evening to watch your content.
thanks for being a day 1
Great cover of Puig, I sure miss him. Always exciting to watch and had amazing raw talent.
as someone who lost touch with baseball back around the start of puig's career I've wondered over the last few months what's happened to him. thanks for doing this video.
Yasiel Puig: I'm the most misunderstood player in baseball
Milton Bradley: That's Cute.
Try altuve lol the whole team cheated but not their best hitter noooo he has morals and principles
It’s a scarring experience and he doesn’t need to talk about it to anyone.
I get why you don’t post often. Your videos always have great research and quality!
And the organization it took to lay this all down 🤕
I don’t watch baseball at all, but I appreciate yours and other baseball TH-camrs’ passion for the game. These videos go crazy.
Sheesh, I gotta try and sneak out a star baseball player in my suitcase on my next trip to Cuba! 😝
Off to the gulag with you!
the teamate who threw his Luggage Into traffic was Zack Grienkie, he says it in another video
I don't think puig was in the wrong he's just from Cuba a place where baseball players aren't nearly as paid and the games aren't as serious, so he just took it more lightly and tried to have fun he was definelty a great talent and I think a great guy he played with those kids and stuff he has a heart he just doing take baseball as serious as other major league guys
Who doesn’t love baseball doesn’t exist I love the effort keep the grind
Oh man I really start to miss this videos!
Now Yasiel is playing in Mexico with El Aguila de Veracruz btw. And has been really meh....
Love the international Prospect videos!
20:50 “Puig didn’t get along with his teammates” the clip you show is puig and ryu playing around in the dugout lmao they were actually good friends
8:35 - "YOU ARE TEARING ME A PART LISA!"
I went to his debut game and had no idea who he was didn't even know he was debuting and I just felt like I witnessed something special he is too good not to be in the MLB
Bumgarner is so soft lol
I thought I knew Puig but I hadn't heard about 80% of this stuff!
Puig was like the next Sosa ‘ my Dominican old head said he got blackballed ‘ wow I never new’ My guy was literally a beast
Seems it doesn’t matter if you did or did not do something you were accused of, if you even get accused, even if found innocent or no criminal
Charged see filed…your career is over.
baseball doesn't exist is one of the best baseball channels
he has good football content too
What a fascinating and misunderstood person I can’t believe he went through all of that
A recommendation I have is to show more highlights while you talk and just some normal plays he made instead of same clips for 2-4 times other than that You’re perfect❤️
The dodgers had Mattingly, Luis Gonzalez, and mark mcgwire as coaches?? How did they not win at least 1 wrld series with them?
Dude was jailed, banned from baseball in his own country, risk his life to get to America, only to get kidnapped and auction off like a slave and then finally making it into the U.S. after all he's been through, that chip on his shoulders, he gets a pass.
As a Reds fan I gotta say he is one of my favorite players ever, there wasn't another player on the reds that had the balls that guy did, just fighting when fighting was needed
Wrong
P.rose,j.bench and many more.
@@apachedream3080 I assumed that he meant on that current team, when Puig was on it.
How does he know this stuff
PUIG saved baseball During his time Playing.
Entertainment
Cant believe kershaw said he wish he’d try harder 🤣 kersh how about YOU try harder
Key fact... it was greinke who threw his luggage off the bus.
Love him or hate him if you’re wearing Puig’s colors you know he’s got your back.
Unless he's throwing you outta the way if you try to hold him back 😆
Love they way BDE says “but”
Miss Puig in L.A. with DODGERS
He was a HOF player
How many stars were forcefully taken out from baseball just because unwritten rules especially "don't have flairs or you'll be hated", this is why baseball will never be THE sport.
This was absolutely fantastic. This content was way better than most stuff on major television networks. Your narration was excellent as well! Great editing and the story was delivered with perfect pace and somehow the music didn't even enjoy me even though it was repetitive it all worked just right. Subscribed!
Poor Yasiel, everything he has been through 😔
This seems like a pretty clear example of how we as a society should value "innocent until proven guilty".
I remember going to a baseball game and watching puig in the outfield. Wow what good times
Groenke story is hilarious. Especially after I have interacted with him. 🤣🤣 he's funny as hell
I remember when Kenta Maeda joined the Dodgers
Puig was already there and I knew he was wild man.
But
I saw him congratulate Maeda’s first start with huge smile and a hug.
That act might be from sympathy he felt that both came from overseas.
But he seemed to be such a nice guy.
So I think at least he has pure sensitive heart in him
I just finished watching your A-Rod video two minutes ago and now you uploaded again :)
The background soundtrack is iconic as he uses it in every video
Puig is so cool he is my favorite player to watch.
Puig's double steal that sent Seager home before he slid safely back to first is one of the greatest plays I ever got to see. I miss seeing him
He needed to CHECK HIS EMOTIONS & EGO QUICKLY before all of this happened.
But, he chose not too.
Now, he lost everything.
