Only took a small water change to recover and she was able to tell me exactly what she did and why. One day I would love to start a tank for her, but right now any fish is my fish.

For that marine tank (5:49), as far as I know, it seems great. One dough is a single Aphiprion (Nemo), they need to be stocked in pairs for them to develop each one's gender
No need to stock clowns in pairs actually. really cool when they do pair up but not essential at all for their health. pretty sure they default to female transition at maturity when kept singly so its not as though the isolation stunts their development. much bigger issue is that it looks like a maroon clownfish not an ocellaris. maroons often grow to be far too hostile for the current tankmates and also grow far larger than the common ocellaris clownfish and are best housed in a 55 gal or larger imo. not that 10 or 20 gal in the video. other fish selections are great

The place I order fish from is great about checking the weather so they know if they need heat packs. I’ve ordered Amano Shrimp from there and all arrived alive and that was in the winter😊 Another great video!
Found this. How the danio cerebs make the sound. After analyzing the footage, they saw that the fish were making the sounds with their swim bladders. A special muscle pulls one of the fish’s ribs against a piece of cartilage with an indentation. Then, when the fish releases the rib, it collides with the swim bladder to make a loud drumming noise.
Can confirm, three striped damsels are jerks. Among my 10 tanks, one is a reef, and one saltwater fowlr that houses my three striped, which is the only fish i have that actively attacks me every time my hand has to go in the tank.
I've ordered ALL of my shrimp online.. and I have never had them show up as a block of ice. I would be totally baffled if that happened... hi Chris, love your videos! and all your helpful tips! 😊 wanted to share my own tank for u to see/review, but the link below your video won’t work? thanks 🦐
My aunt has tow slay water thanks, one a 500 and 1000 gallon. They are both have a connect filtration system (I believe I’m not 100% sure). And about a month ago her anemone from the 500 gallon tank got sucked into the filter killing most of the corals and fish in both tanks. :/
Shrek!! Honestly such good movies, beauty isn't everything, friendship is important, mutual respect, solving problems with family, liberating enslaved creatures, etc. I think its a great movie for kids to recognize meaningful aspects of real life but in a fantasy setting so it's fun for them.
Hey Chris, nice video as always! I'm thinking about getting my first fish tank, do you think a Betta and some Boraras are a good choice for 8 gallon tank? I'm open to suggestions, this is all very new to me
I know I'm late but about the "starter pet" thing at 6:57 There is indeed no beginner pet and as a person in the reptile community there are "starter reptiles" like garter snakes and corn snakes, but honestly, you don't HAVE to have one of those because it's labeled a starter pet, you just have to have the knowledge, the room, the time, and the money to own your desired pet, and you shouldn't let your child own a goldfish cause they're a "beginner's pet" I think toddlers shouldn't be allowed fish or any delicate animal as a "starter pet" and parents should be more competent with the animals they get and should do some research before getting their child a pet.
The thing is, fish could be a great first animal for a toddler. Meaning : YOU the ADULT take care of and oversee the fish in an open space , to teach the child how to care for and understand animal's. I got my 3 year old a copper koi Betta about a week and a half ago now, and he's in a 6 gallon fully planted tank , complete with marble queen pothos on top:) cycled for a few days before , but the filter came from a previous tank. And my 3 year old is in love. We feed him frozen bloodworms. And I just got some almond leaves in for his scales to heal up from the ammonia burn he seemed to have in his old cup when at the store. Teach. Kids are so so much smarter than we give them credit for
@grimmick9446 just a small tip.😊 Bettas really enjoy a variety of food and bloodworms are usually only used as special treats once a week. Hope this helped 😊😊😊😊
nitrite that won't go down is a sign of an incomplete/broken cycle. gotta wait it out a bit longer and test again. Got biomedia or substrate from a tank that's up and running? Take some and put it in this new one. some plants or floaters work well too
I just got a nice group of sparkling gouramies, I also have adult dart frogs, so my room is full of sounds of nature 😅 altho just at daytime, at night every loud pet is sleeping 😂😊
QOTW: My favourite Disney/Pixar film? Toy Story because it reminds me of when my kids were small. Yeah, it drove me nuts when my son watched it 5 billion times a day, but now I miss those days
QOTW: I am amused you love Frozen... good taste actually Brave, Finding Nemo, and Dory, Frozen, UP, Lilo and Stitch, the Incredibles, Lightyear, all the Toy Stories... Little Mermiad, though, really girl, you had THE WHOLE BLINKIN OCEAN AND YOU GAVE IT UP FOR SOME DUDE?!?!?!
After ordering live shrimp, and knowing people who have, sellers are normally *very* conscientious of weather patterns and either pack very well against it or don't ship at all. Live plant and animal shipping are usually both very expensive, to prevent exactly that.
I would not have let the fish bullying go on that long at all in that saltwater tank. I only keep freshwater, but I always have a second back up tank for any of my fish running and cycled so if I bring a new fish home and it does not get along with the rest like one of my cichlids then they get separated immediately and I might try placing them back in the tank once things have settled and I have another day off to watch. If it fails I will either set up a new tank, or I will take the fish back. I would never let them kill each other especially if I had the chance to buy saltwater.
A 20 gallon can take quite the residents, I have 7 cardinal tetra, 7 rummy nose tetra, 5 julii corys, 6 khuili noddle bois and the "final boss" plakat female betta along with a plethora of plants, water parameters are crisp 🤌
yo everyone so i had started my first ever proper planted tank(i had grown some random easy plants like hornwort duckweed javamoss java fern etc and since im a broke 16yearold i didnt have enough money to go for proper aquasoil and all that and i used organic manure with a thick sand cap and it has worked awesome plants i used were elodea, vallesnaria spiralis, cryptocoyrne wendtii tropica, cryptocoryne ponternidifolia, hygrophila polysperma, hygrophila difformis, java moss, amazon sword and cerapatopteris thallicroides elodea didnt survive for some reason but all of the other ones are absolutely popping off with no co2 and these chinese FULLSPECTRUM led lights its a 15gallon tank housing a breeding pair of channa andrao(before anyone says about overcrowding, snakeheads are not active swimmers, they spend most of their time hiding or sitting on the sand till i walk by the aquarium and these guys will not grow above 6inches(about 5inches right now ) i lowkey made a mistake putting the amazon sword cuz now i realise itll outgrow my tank( it was not growing at all in my 30gallon) AND i made a lot of effort for keeping thr price low but high quality products and total it came to was 120 canadian dollars (including the fish, substrate, driftwood ,RIMLESS TANK,plants, filter)

There is indeed no beginner pet and as a person in the reptile community there are "starter reptiles" like garter snakes and corn snakes, but honestly, you don't HAVE to have one of those because it's labeled a starter pet, you just have to have the knowledge, the room, the time, and the money to own your desired pet, and you shouldn't let your child own a goldfish cause they're a "beginner's pet"
I think toddlers shouldn't be allowed fish or any delicate animal as a "starter pet" and parents should be more competent with the animals they get and should do some research before getting their child a pet.
Brave or Princess and the Frog are my favorite disney movies. Underrated imo
HELLO CHRIS!!!
He just ignored the shrimp at 4:38 .
Teach. Kids are so so much smarter than we give them credit for
@grimmick9446 just a small tip.😊
Bettas really enjoy a variety of food and bloodworms are usually only used as special treats once a week. Hope this helped 😊😊😊😊
QOTW: Ayyyeeee!! I also love Frozen! I really like the first and second one. Moana is tied with those two also
never watched moana yet!
I need that fish. I would love to listen to them at night time.
The intro is quite shocking!
ikr!
When i grow up and start making money I will join your patron fft
My tanks nitrite won’t go down even though I’ve been doing a bunch water changes 😅 am I doing something wrong?
nitrite that won't go down is a sign of an incomplete/broken cycle. gotta wait it out a bit longer and test again.
Got biomedia or substrate from a tank that's up and running? Take some and put it in this new one. some plants or floaters work well too
@@FishForThought ok thanks for telling me!
Ratatouille because the cooking and food is really good. Also the last “review” at the end of the movie made it special.
Love ur vids Chris don't have a fish tank but ur vids are amazing
thx! hopefully one day you will join the hobby!
I just got a nice group of sparkling gouramies, I also have adult dart frogs, so my room is full of sounds of nature 😅 altho just at daytime, at night every loud pet is sleeping 😂😊
ahahaha
@@FishForThought tho I sent you a picture about their tank in insta dm :DD
THE BFG, Big Friendly Giant. Disney. Yes, I agree, seemed like the video was over fast, miss you until next week. *smile*
QOTW: My favourite Disney/Pixar film? Toy Story because it reminds me of when my kids were small. Yeah, it drove me nuts when my son watched it 5 billion times a day, but now I miss those days
Not sure if they're Pixar or Disney ( I don't pay attention lol) but "Up" and "Wall-E" are ny favorites.
My cat is sleeping in my face while I watch
Clown loaches make a clicking noise.. I wondered what it was for days til someone posted it on a group
It is an interesting theory. Apparently not everyone knew that all of the photos of earth have been photoshopped...
I wasn’t expecting the intro 😂
lmao
QOTW:
I am amused you love Frozen... good taste actually
Brave, Finding Nemo, and Dory, Frozen, UP, Lilo and Stitch, the Incredibles, Lightyear, all the Toy Stories...
Little Mermiad, though, really girl, you had THE WHOLE BLINKIN OCEAN AND YOU GAVE IT UP FOR SOME DUDE?!?!?!
haha the grass/algae is always greener on the other side I guess xD
After ordering live shrimp, and knowing people who have, sellers are normally *very* conscientious of weather patterns and either pack very well against it or don't ship at all. Live plant and animal shipping are usually both very expensive, to prevent exactly that.
darn I wonder what happened with that one xD
@@FishForThought Either freak accident, really bad seller, or really new seller who did no research.
I would never let them kill each other especially if I had the chance to buy saltwater.
yeah. I don't think they sent it back ASAP lmao
Love the videos keep it up you inspire me as a 13 year old ❤❤
A 20 gallon can take quite the residents, I have 7 cardinal tetra, 7 rummy nose tetra, 5 julii corys, 6 khuili noddle bois and the "final boss" plakat female betta along with a plethora of plants, water parameters are crisp 🤌
20gallon long btw*
20g longs are so good
My favorite Disney Pixar film is Wall-E but what about Dreamworks? Shrek, How to Train your Dragon and Sinbad are so fun
OHHH IM EARLY AGINN, that discus tank is pool big
I didn't go to 8 years of Ecology School to be call "mister." I just didn't even go to Ecology School.
I love this channel dude
yo everyone so i had started my first ever proper planted tank(i had grown some random easy plants like hornwort duckweed javamoss java fern etc
and since im a broke 16yearold i didnt have enough money to go for proper aquasoil and all that
and i used organic manure with a thick sand cap and it has worked awesome
plants i used were elodea, vallesnaria spiralis, cryptocoyrne wendtii tropica, cryptocoryne ponternidifolia, hygrophila polysperma, hygrophila difformis, java moss, amazon sword and cerapatopteris thallicroides
elodea didnt survive for some reason but all of the other ones are absolutely popping off with no co2 and these chinese FULLSPECTRUM led lights
its a 15gallon tank housing a breeding pair of channa andrao(before anyone says about overcrowding, snakeheads are not active swimmers, they spend most of their time hiding or sitting on the sand till i walk by the aquarium and these guys will not grow above 6inches(about 5inches right now )
i lowkey made a mistake putting the amazon sword cuz now i realise itll outgrow my tank( it was not growing at all in my 30gallon)
AND i made a lot of effort for keeping thr price low but high quality products and total it came to was 120 canadian dollars (including the fish, substrate, driftwood ,RIMLESS TANK,plants, filter)
