- We begin building the wood body for our 1930 Ford Model A Woody Huckster. Building it from rough cut, kiln dried lumber purchased from a local specialty store that specializes in lots of different types of wood, we start our build using white oak and hard maple.
We are building a very unique and personal Huckster body. I am very excited to share with you some very unique things that will be done for it so be sure to subscribe and follow us as we do this pickup style woody vehicle fr4om left over parts that I kept after parting out my 1930 Ford Model A Town Sedan!

Oh, how I love working with wood!
Me too!
Glad to see your progress. This is a really cool build and am excited you are taking the direction you have. New life for an old car.
Thanks so much! It has been a labor of love but I am excited at how it is progressing!
Looking great can hardly wait for the next video
Thanks so much!
Great team. She's going to be very nice when she is completely finished. I've been there with the maple and oak in doing cabinets and custom furniture. You're going to learn so much about what basically is custom cabinet work. Great job Ken. CAN'T WAIT.
Thanks so much for the kind words Dean. While I've done some of the work (plan modifications, grunt work. mechanics) I've been blessed with a few amazing people who have seriously helped with this project.
Looks so cool!
Thanks so much!
I like woodworking. I have sawdust in my veins. But the metal work you had on the other video was the bomb! This whole evolution of Fourdor to Huckster is quite the project. Overall very impressive!
I gotta tell you, had I had to do this all over again, I would have just started with a chassis. This truly has been a very fin project. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears, but it has had many a satisfying moment too. I've met some great people along this journey!
The bed looks fantastic Ken. You must be excited with this really good start on the wood structure. Keep the videos coming.
I am very excited! I feel like I am beginning to see the fruits of my labor!
@@kensmithgallery4432 I bet you are ! I'm here cheering you on from my couch. Enjoy!
WOW is all I can say
Thanks so much!
The prices of wood has gone up substantially in recent years. Especially hard woods.
Hey! What kinda wood is that mister?
That's unobtainium, kid!
Never heard of it...
Oh I am gonna remember that one for a long time!
Oh, a little story. Those who go to sea in a new vessel, as the original crew members, are known as 'plank owners'.
As the builder and owner of the Huckster, you truly will be a 'plank owner'.
That's a pretty cool back story! I guess that makes me a real plank owner!
@@kensmithgallery4432 My dad was in the Navy for almost 29 years. Half of that was 'shore duty' and half was 'sea duty'. He never was a plank owner, but he had to be away from family too much. It is a shared sacrifice amongst all of the family.
Your blood, sweat, tears and efforts will be looked back upon with pride. You will truly have a one of a kind.
Therefore, unobtainium!
Hahahaha 😊
