The additional fuel pump was actually meant to provide adequate fuel VOLUME (not pressure) to the engine under full load, basically when you're pushing it to the absolute limits of acceleration. They aren't all that necessary, and normally one of them will fail, and act as a blockage for the remaining working pump. (Can't verify this info, but i have heard it many times, and it seems to make sense)
Yeah they have a weird set up with 2 pumps sequentially. 2nd pump is for more flowrate both run together. I had to change one on my V12 build😎 keep up the good work 👍
I ran my V12 on 1 pump, runs fine. 2 pumps is to maintain fuel pressure at high rpm on the bigger engines when the throttle is wide open. It may run lean on one pump. The bad thing with the two pump setup as you have experienced is they pass though each other so if one goes bad the car will struggle to get fuel pressure. I'd just replace the 2 pumps on a V12. At the time it was the only way for manufactures to make higher capacity fuel systems. Bother pumps run at the same time on the same power feed. Both run when priming, it's a return system where the fuel pressure is regulated on the fuel rail ontop of the engine 😎
Hi Pete, i know and apologise im off topic. I have an 1997/8 S500, would you kindly tell me how much transmission fluid i need to fill up without touching the Torque Converter?

Yeah I totally see this being an issue. These pumps do clog especially since they are pre filter
