  • Bringing you along for a file design that I am working on for Brandy. This design is going to require 3 layers to make it complete.
    For templates that I have made, check out my Etsy shop. I build files for projects and tools for laser engravers.

    I like the three layer one. you need to put the 45 degree lines on the outside trim of that door like you did on the one layer one you did.

      Yea. I also should have added an edge to hold the lid in place on the CNC one. My files tend to improve over time as I tweak them. Thanks

    I like the layered one a lot but I also like the offset around the six windows like you did for the single piece. Thanks for the video!

    Hey! put the 2panels on the bottom as glue on attachments. Go look at your door they are raised, as in a “raised panel door”. The should be on the same plain as the door handle.

      I was going by the design that Brandy sent. I am gonna make my own mini door on the CNC, it will be more like a real door.

    Multi layer is my choice! Great job Dave! As always, thanks for the lightburn experience.

    An idea crossed my mind at the end. If the middle layer (door) had a solid lower half and it were sized so it could open outwards, it could swing open revealing a cat, dog, message, name, year, etc on the lower door portion of the back layer.
    To make the door swing, you could give it two tabs at the top and bottom that could be sanded round and sit between the front and back layers to form pivots. The back layer could just be the frame and whatever you wanted on the lower half of the door as a silhouette, or it could be solid with the window area shaded and words/etc on the lower half.
    Sorry if that was wordy or hard to understand!

      That could be done. I was reproducing what Brandy wanted.

    I wonder how it would look with the layered door with some of the engraved lines, like around the windows and the 45s on the frame corners.

    Wonderful video. Thank you!
    How do you make LB display solid colors as fills? I only know how to go to the preview to see the fill.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is a setting in LB. You can have it only show lines or show fill. It is under the WINDOW tab

    I suppose it would be possible to cut the door out and hinge it. Kinda good for building doll houses etc.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess it is possible.

    Nice - liking the 3D version, but I think I would experiment with the edges to see if I could get some more shape into them. Not keen on seeing flat edges where I think it would be better with more of a rounded over look. But other than that I see some procedures here that I want to explore. Lightburn keeps on surprising me with its capabilities, that's for sure.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rounded edges is hard to accomplish with a laser. A cnc, yea.

      @@TheClackShack I suppose it would involve lots of individual power settings to get the depth of cut but I'm guessing.
