true too, I'm riding with a bitless or a sidepull, but sometimes I'm using only a rope around her neck. Btw my horse has never been mounted and I'm her first rider, she's a french trotter and had done 2 years of races with a sulky. only one month since i'm riding her and sheunderstood that she can now galop... but I never used any bits and always rided without saddle. our relationship is based on faith and trust. btw she just reached her 5 years old this month ^^
I have been fortunate enough, to have had horses throughout my life. Some were difficult, some were easy, some in between, but, the wonderful thing about horses, is eventually, most will give you their heart. It may take a long, long time to fix the ones people have damaged through ignorance. But, with patience and time, a horse will learn to trust, again. He may be more selective about whom he places his trust, but, you earn it, they'll try again. "Trust, so difficult to earn, so easy to lose." There are many more damaged, broken hearted horses out there, all the same, yet different, in need of their Special person, find one, give it a friend and a home.
This hit me real hard. A horse that I had been training for 4 years passed away recently in a bad colicing accident. She was older and very skinny. Her bottom teeth stuck out of her mouth and she just wasn't shaped right. Our neighbor had a bunch of horses and she was one of them. As the neighbor got older he had to get rid of all the horses. He was going to send her to auction but he knew nobody was going to want her. The day before she was going to go he called used and said "Please! Take some of my horses! I really don't want them to be slaughtered!". Being a family with little money we were only able to take one..... her..... she a barely trained but she was a very sweet and gentle horse. I did really want to train her at first but then one day when I was working with her I noticed how open she was about everything and how sweet she was. I trained bit by bit and each day she got better. It got to the point where she was about the nicest and most trained horse I had ever worked with. Then by myself with no one to help me (I'm younger) I started to train her to ride. I had just started to be able to sit on her and walk her around and even trot sometimes. I could stand on her, lay on her and she was doing great! Then one day out of the blue... She started to colic (She did this every year because of her health problems) But this day.... She rolled in the wrong spot... While walking her around trying to get her to stop colicing.... She ended laying down on an old horseshoe pit... The pole went through her and poked a hole through her stomach... I don't want to go into detail but let's just say it scared me for life.... and every time I think of it I begin to get very sad. People don't notice how lucky they are to have such a loyal and loving creature in their lives. Even if your horse isn't trained very well or acts up. Just having such an amazing creature around you is a blessing. You and your horse are so sweet and seem like bestfriends all most. Thank you for loving your horse so much! :)

Cear omg I am so so sorry for your loss I agree some people just don't get how amazing it is to have an amazing companion. I can't have a horse since my moms allergic, but I can tell when I'm walking around that some people just don't appreciate it as much. Also some people don't realize they have feelings too which gets on my nerves. Even though I can't have one I still get to ride every Thursday.
People with horses are so lucky the people who can't even afford one or rent one because of where they live if you are one I know how you feel I'm young I NEEDA wait 20 or 30 years to get my own horse I can't rent or buy one because of where I live and I'm young don't live in a farm I live next to one but I can't have one still I'm sad when I see people ride THEIR OWN horse I just can't help it
Dango Koalabie You don't need your own land to have a horse. Look around for people leasing out grazing or maybe go halves with someone else with a horse who may be able to help you out. Keep your eyes open, thoroughbreds and standard breeds can be found super cheap off the track, they'll need work put into them but that's part of the fun :)

Alïcïa Lps If only horses didn't cost so much... I think it's crazy how much it can cost, just to make sure an animals health is fine! Why can't it be free, or atleast cost much less :( Lucky if you're rich. Poor people like me can't even buy a mouse. I have a dog tho... But now, it just feels wrong that I even wanted one. My parents just gets angry at her sometimes, and they say things about selling her when she's a bad dog..... It feels like everything's My fault. I can't even go out with My dog and play, because Im so shy, I Keep thinking the ones living next to me think Im crazy! If only we hadn't moved from such a perfect Place.... I'd be outside everyday, like I used to. Now I sit inside watching TH-cam everyday, because My life is shit. Maybe I shouldn't dream about "impossible" things... It just means trouble, right..? Well, if I atleast get a mouse, I'll take care of it, because then I don't have to be outside everyday, to watch it pee and poop. I wonder if My dog hates me... Do the horses in My riding school hate me, too..? I feel hated by everything... Maybe I should just kill myself, before I get bullied by others when they find out about my autism... Im a joke... My whole life is a joke... My heart and soul is a joke...

Oh I'm sure it can't be that bad! I wish horses didn't cost so much too! I've been waiting seven years for a horse and I still don't have one. I'm 15. I recently moved to a new place far away from my favorite horse and at first I felt hopeless like you. I have a dog, and a cat. I still get to ride twice a week. You have to look at the positives. Your parents haven't sold your dog, and you get to ride horses! That's more than a lot of horse lovers can do. I'm sure not everyone hates you. As long as you try your best to be nice to everyone, it's impossible to be hated by everyone. One of the amazing things about horses, is that they don't hate. They love you as long as you make an effort. If people bully you for your autism, don't be friends with them. I'd be happy to be friends with you. East Coast Eq Aww, thx! You made me feel better now :3 I don't think many in My school knows about my autism tho... And they don't exactly bully me. It's more like... Some avoid me. And you're right, horses don't hate just because. Neither do dogs... Well. I may get two mice soon. That's like the only positive thing right now. Life has a good side, sometimes... Right now Im enjoying TH-cam while drinking some soda. And, I don't think we live Close, lol. I live in Sweden. And maybe we can become "gmail-friends". I'll think of it :) And yes, it's quite lucky to be able to ride atleast once a week. I waited for many years to finally start at a riding school. It's great! I've come so far... And tonight, year turns 2018. Imma be ready for fireworks. They Kinda scare me, same with thunder. My family don't celebrate anything, except their religion-things. Poor dog tho... She will Wonder "what's that sound??" Some are already setting of fireworks. Well, happy new year for you atleast :D

Never give that horse up. No one has a horse or bond like urs! You are beyond lucky! That's 1 in a million horse but a horse like that can't be special without a mind blowing trainer! You are no ordinary equestrian you are 1 in a million.

There's a hole in my heart where my horse used to be. I no longer ride and I couldn't afford it now but seeing you bond with your beautiful horse takes me back to my Bongo time. Those are memories that sustain me. Thank you for sharing your journey. Superb music selection.

This horse that I love dearly, got spooked while I was riding him. He just kept bucking and rearing, and wouldn’t stop. We turned a corner, he bucked and I fell off. I hit the wall really hard. I was fine, I just got the wind knocked out of me. The same day I got right back on him. I could tell he knew he was sorry. I still love him very much to this day. Beautiful girl, beautiful video, amazing horse. I wish you all the best of luck going forward.

I cried watching this, I did many similiar things with my first pony and I was 10 when he died. I miss him still and watching this was so sweet.
Your riding outfits are a vibe in the early 2000s but this is just amazing.. I've only had my pony a year but I already have a feel I'm going to have this EXACT relationship with him.

I had a horse his name was Rascal and I got him when I was just a little older then the girl in this video. We went through highs and lows, up hills and down. I had him until he was 42 yrs. old and still looked really good ,no one could ever believe his age. But we moved him closer to our house because the ranch he lived at or was board, had to close down to move to another property across the road, so he went to his new place was there about two yrs. when he got some Oliander leaves in his stall and nibbled them. We didnt know they blew in from quite a distance,but it was to late for my sweet Rascal. His heart just stoped ! And the day his heart stopped, mine has never been the same !!! ❤️❤️❤️

what they become and if your lucky so much more like this horse was to you i truly am sorry that he is gone
when young I had friends who had horses. Coco Babe was one of their horses. God how much I loved that horse. if I had my health back I would totally devote my time to horses and cats.

WonderStarKids 17 He might be but he also looks kinda like a Quarter Horse, not one of the big bulky ones but the sleak quartar horses.

This is such a sweet video, and I think that you have the PERFECT horse... So sweet has a bit of an attitude. Reminds me of my old horse... The good boy went as long as he could and fought through cancer... but died of old age a month ago.
I felt so many emotions during this, happiness, sadness, I was scared a couple times. Lol, but overall it made me want a horse even more. He and you are such an awesome pair, soulmates. And he is gorgeous! Thank you for making this! It's beautiful.

This video melted my heart and took me back to my first Horse! We did so many of the same things that you & your beautiful horse did. I couldn't wait to get out of school every day to go ride! I Rode him with nothing on but the pressure of my legs, I could stand on him, slide down his rump, basically do anything! We had complete trust between one another.We had a huge lake that we loved to swim in, man did he ever love that lake! I showed him Hunter Jumper for several years and then the day came where I had to get a bigger, better, Show horse, he was only 13.3 hands but that little bugger could clear a 4-foot fence easily! He was Arabian/Quater horse,snow white, with huge blue eyes!We never sold him and I continued to ride him for years more,and yes, I got the 16.2 hand Thourabred horse and we were first in the state of Al. in my division for next 3 years and then I retired from showing. I never sold my blue-eyed baby! I loved my Shawna too but nothing could replace my first horse Whiz!! He was one of a kind! Thank you foor reminding me! I cried watching you, with the music and memories! :)

i don't know why but this made me cry watching someone grow up with a horse, a best friend is so cool and cute. i play star stable and i treat my horse like a real person and a real alive horse and sometimes i talk to it in my head even though it cant hear me and i really want a horse soooo BAD Lol

So glad he's healthy and happy! I used to ride a pony name biscuit at an old boarding barn and I moves barns a 4 years ago and she just died. :( I rode her when I was 4! I hope he lives long!!

God I wish I could have grown up with a horse. By the beach, (or is that one of the great lakes?). You looked like you had the time of your life with your best friend. I'm 40 and still horseless, beachless, friendless, and houseless. Hope your life is still on track and you're happy, best wishes!
