Yeah this was the first vehicle my Aunt and Uncle had starting from the birth of their first kid in late 1989 - the first one I remember them owning was a 1991 Plymouth Voyager.
Yeah, the 2nd gen Chrysler vans were pretty reliable. The only issue is that the really high end models have the computer controlled "Ultradrive" transmission, which is prone to failure. However, if you install an auxiliary cooler and drive it gingerly, you wouldn't normally have problems.
Haha, I definately remember that evolution commericial this started off with, back from when 1992 when my mom was shopping for our first minivan. She ended up getting one of the first '93 Nissan Quests though in our area when that model was first released. What a problem car, crappy Ford electronics, probably should have gone with one of the Chrysler minivans!
Chrysler minivans are not the safest minivans. They have a weak rear latch which could the back lid to pop open in an accident and the rear seat goes flying out.
It's been 8 years. 2nd gen Chrysler minivans are cool again. The NS-body vans are getting there. The 4th gen vans are in their "ugly" phase now. March 26, 2017 10:41 pm
I was the ad agency account executive working behind the scenes (and camera) for most of those commercials. Thanks for the trip back in time. :)
I miss these so much!
if they put these vans back on the road, Chrysler would clean up good
*GOTTA BUY THIS BOIIIS*

Nothing says "reliability" like having to install an aftermarket fluid cooler and STILL being forced to drive it like a grandma.
Nice!!!

Don't forget about the drivers seat back breaking and you fall backwards
These things are in their "ugly" phase right now. They need 10 more years.
