Hmm. Only one brief mention buried in a reply to another post about the ZZ Top song that inspired the product line, ad campaign, and commercials. It's ONE of the, if not THE, sexiest commercials of all times. The ad campaign slogan: "She's got L'eggs [legs], and she knows how to use them!" is taken right out of the song (with its clever little product-packaging twist). 🐣

I can't help but wonder if Toyota let the quality slip on some of the Lexuses, given how Consumer Reports said in 2009 that the glove compartment was misaligned on the 2010 HS they tested, part of the reason they refused to recommend the vehicle. The following year, in 2010, Akio Toyoda (who became Toyota's CEO the year before, and if you remember, served as CEO until just last year; he's now Toyota's chairman), admitted that Toyota's quality started to decline in 2003 in the pursuit of sales growth (hence why Toyota became the world's largest automaker by 2008), but IMHO, quality slipping on regular, mass-market Toyotas and on Lexuses is two VERY different things-I mean, neither should happen, but Lexus customers pay a LOT of money to get a good vehicle.

Those Chrysler Corp. commercials of the 1990's with Edward Herrmann (RIP) were a 90's stalwart. Ed was a "car guy" too boot. Chrysler was firing on all cylinders from the late 80's until the Daimler-Benz fiasco.
