I’m a 16 year old white kid from the middle of nowhere in North Carolina. So… I’m really not the typical fan of EWF. But let me tell you, this is MY MUSIC!!! There is nothing that competes with Earth, Wind and Fire. They are my absolute favorite. If I only had a time machine, the first place I’d go would be back to the ‘70s or ‘80s to see an EWF concert. Maurice White was such a showman. The whole band was really. Absolutely incredible.
In 1978 I was the white kid from Welcome, NC. I was a huge Beatles fan, but discovered Earth Wind & Fire and started mowing lawns to buy EWF albums as fast as I could!
I'm glad EWF is cool about not pulling these videos off TH-cam. Larry Dunn, Philip Bailey and Verdine are social media friendly. They know footage like this lets us younger people see their greatness in a time long gone.
Hello My Favorite Band To date and this is 2022. Love you Guys Always enjoy your Music any and All times. Still miss Reese but You Guys have carried EWF forward.Keep on Keeping On.
And Maurice could sing all the parts then play drums then conduct with 2 drumsticks ..... and wrote the songs, and assembled the group .... Thank You Maurice White n Family ... we are Eternally Greatful Great Brother and Sir🙏🌈🌻🌲🌹🆙🌍🌹💖
He was the Studio drummer for Chess Records from the mid sixties until he started touring with Ramsey around 1967. So he knew all about producing music. He changed the group many times before about 1973, when we had the band that stayed together about 10 years.
Darn it. What was I doing when this guys came out in the 70's. I miss a lot of they're concerts. Superb band after watching them on you tube. My oh my, Maurice white an incredible performer good show manship, wrote wonderful songs I will never get tired of listening and watching. I missed him. Wish he's still here performing with his band. RIP Maurice. 🙏
EWF in all their glory featuring the genius of the soulful Maurice White. Excellent symphonic funk. You know… Great show and great camera work. ❤️❤️❤️ Enjoy ✌🏾
Me and some friends from crescent City were in the army at the time in Portsmouth VA in 1976 July forth wind the spirit lp came out. Amazing group. Of musicains
He was a gifted singer, he was able to tap into his heart and soul. Maurice didn't sing from the surface he was a genuine person.Thats why it resonated in his lyrics. Once in a lifetime.
I remember seeing this show at the Richmond Coliseum. This was EWF at their peak in the 70s. And that illusion at the end made the crowd lose their minds! :-)
A great show! Although there are gripes about the sound, I think one of peculiarities is that in the mix, Johnny Graham’s guitar is louder than Al McKay’s. The great thing about this is that we get to hear a lot of the great stuff Johnny is doing. A lot of people regard him as the “soloist” and Al McKay as the rhythm guitarist, but this video shows that Johnny’s chops were tight all the way around and that he’s a very intelligent player...weaving in, out, and around Al McKay’s parts and complimenting him when they both start comping. Obviously, Graham is a good listener! Pay attention to “Shining Star”; “On Your Face”, “ Saturday Night”, and “Got to Get You Into My Life.”
I still love watching this video of Earth Wind & Fire.🔥 It just bring back memories of when l saw them in my youth in the late 70's and 80's. RlP Maurice White, you have brought such joy to many people around the world . You are loved by Earth Wind and Fire fans around the world. 🌎 Reese we still love you!!!
I Love Maurice (Reese) White💯...thx for Earth Wind and Fire...and always keeping it soulful real and all that!!!! What a band, a legend, a gift to us....yesssssss indeed💯💕r.I.p.
The best group ever and best original band members with Maurice White, keyboardist Larry Dunn, drummer Ralph White and guitarist Johnny Graham and Saxophone great Andrew Wolfolk! EWF today can't even compare this band,

Thanks daddysmooth for bringing this to those of us who were too young to experience it live (I would have been 8!), so the sound quality aint brilliant but who cares they are truly amazing to watch and Ralph Johnson looks sooooo hottttttt!!!!!!
Larry Dunn and Freddie White!! Both were about 21 years old on here, I believe, I may be wrong. Freddie started playing drums at age 13 for Donny Hathaway and others and got his first Grammy at age 16. The family noticed Freddie tapping his toys on the floor keeping beat at age 8. He goes all in on those drums, when he takes his shirt off, watch out!!
Your welcome. The audio on these old concerts could better, especially compared to today's standards, but considering how old the source material is (VHS tape) I think it sounds pretty good.
While listening to Don Myrick's sax solos in Reason and Be Ever Wonderful don't forget that Police Officer Gary Barbaro mistook a butane lighter in Myrick's hand for a weapon. He fired a single bullet that hit Myrick in the chest. Myrick died in the hospital shortly afterward, aged 53 years. A BUTANE LIGHTER....let that sink in.
Thanks for posting! Audio and video quality may be bad here and there, but this is the best you can get it! UNDERSTOOD. Jammin full to Larry's solo on Runnin! :P
Must’ve been tough... they were so big at this point it’s beautiful to seem....when a band is so tight, and and they’ve played the song like 1000 times, with 💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜🌍💖 so much to say.... but when whoever turns Johnny Graham’s Solo down in the middle .... I don’t dig that 🎶☮️ Al McKay n Johnny Graham they could’ve given them more solos much love 👑
I feel the energy & excitement just watching the video. They were the best at audience participation. I didn’t even remember them doing a 2hr show back in the day when shows were like 1hr 15mins🏳️🌈

The sound mix is very chopped up . BUT I LIKE YOU CAN HEAR THE TWO GUITAR PARTS BY AL MCKAY AND JOHNNY GRAHAM. SOMETIMES THE KEYBOARD CHOPS IN AND OUT.

Yep. Now watch the godfather JAMES BROWN LIVE IN BOSTON

"Be ever wonderful." the singing best of Maurice. Cool I like these days' EWF very much.
Yes! From the greatest EWF album, All 'N All... though, they are all phenomenal LPs and songs.

Verdine a big part of EWF Cast. And He still is today.2021-22. So Many Have Gone On I will have To make sure I catch one of their shows this year.

Johnny is a bad man

Also, in one remix out there his Guitar stands out too: th-cam.com/video/hpuzMvc3ov4/w-d-xo.html
