Thanks for uploading this match. All Thais never forget this tournament, when the whole nation encouraging James to stay strong after the death of his father since the end of 2nd round. James decided not to withdrawn and bring himself into the final. Thailand's truly living legend, more than 20 years we still proud of him.
An amazing slice of snooker history, not only to see Watanna play again, but to see the speed snooker and his 147, the amount of tough blacks he cut in was amazing, I have never seen so many hard shots in a 147, thanks so much for this, just amazing!
But just look at how he played back then. He was truly at the top of his game. He was fast, accurate and had more shots available to him than everyone else. Awesome doesn't go far enough: he was the best, talent-wise. If only he'd seen a sports psychologist like O'Sullivan has I think Jimmy would have won far more. He just didn't look like he was going to miss and often he didn't. I'm encouraged by his recent form brought on by improved fitness. :-)
@@MASAo7 yep...had his own unique artistry..cue the ball low, split the pack with power , then spin to split them further again in the same shot...unbelievable.
@@hensmithers9687 A true legend. He has played shots other great players don't even fully understand. Willie Thorn's face when that cue ball stopped dead after accelerating forward (don't know if you've seen that video) lol. Like watching a magician. I enjoy watching Jimmy whether he's missing or potting. It's not about the win with him. But it's nice when he wins cos then you get to watch him play another match :-)

@@rs-qt1qg Yes. He was 30 years old at that time. Had he gone on to win the World Championship as well, I reckon he would have done much better in his career. He really bottled that chance. Hendry didn't win it in 92, Jimmy lost it.
@@johnmc3862 Not true at all. Ronnie was still improving and nowhere near what he would become. Hendry was still at his peak for years after this. It was Ronnie really who made Hendry retire. As great as Hendry was, Ronnie is simply the GOAT.

แลกกันดุเดือดไม่มีกัน... สุดยอดทั้งคู่
สิงห์ปืนไวในตำนานทั้งคู่เลยจริงๆคับ
These were the only time when I actually enjoyed watching snooker. All the greats were there. James was just brilliant!
Brilliant match by both players.
thank you very much indeed
hi mate great video :) you got any tony knowles matches ?
you can really notice how slow the cloths are before under table heating. they both had to give the cue ball a fair old whack to get anywhere.
Therefore especially Jimmy played with a heavy cue. Today heavy cues are a cause, why playing position is more difficult on the faster cloths.
75 grand in 1992. Very nice indeed
50 went up his nose lol
Craig Park laughed at more than I should. 😂
Jw got more. Imagine that in baht in 92 😃
Do you have 1993 final of Steve Davis and James wattana. Same title
ย้อนดูอีกเข้าชิงในขณะที่คุณพ่อเพิ่งเสียเฮียต๋องใจสู้มาก ใด้รองแชมป์แต่ชนะใจชาวไทยเป็นล้านคน
Do you have 1993 British open . Steve Davis winning against James wattana
Bits of it are on you tube, type in 1993 wicks british open
Wattana got to 3 consecutive British Open finals losing to White, Davis and O'Sullivan in each

นักสนุ๊กไทยไม่มีใครทำได้เหมือนต๋อง(เขาคือตำนานผู้เคยครองอันดับสามของโลก)
Love them all
Rex Williams was a dire commentator. ITV really struggled in the 90s with their comm team
No match for Clive Everton.
Williams went into a coma once, it actually livened him up!
wasn't much good at chairing the WPBSA either
Jimmy White: Won this and the Grand prix in 1992, but bottled it leading 14-8 when it mattered most..
you've left out the UK championship 1992 and the European open 1992...he won those also.
@@hensmithers9687 Thanks so basically 1992 was the best year in his career?

He nearly bottled here as well....
Jimmy white no bottle
the camera angles are really bad
The god of snooker
Really enjoyable match lovely game
3:41:45 - this shot should have been a foul and a miss. Jimmy just belted it.
I believe (could be wrong) that it wasn't until 1995 that referees were encouraged to make more use of the miss rule.
สุดยอดครับผม
It's only when you watch these old match you realise just how much better today's players are.

Ilike JameWatana

whose the commentators on this
Rex Williams (deep voice) and Mark Wildman.
Jimmy White looks a lot like Edward Scissorhands.
It's a pity he doesn't use them to cut the ridiculous wig off a his head. .
ประทับใจ
Because of his highest break James wattana actually got more prize money than the winner jimmy white
£76K to Wattana, £75k plus the trophy(what really matters) to White

Jimmy like the British open he won it again beating Stephen hendry in 96 or 97 I think
The runner-up's got a grand-total of = 76,000 GP
The winner's got a total of = 65,000 GP
