Alex higgins was the best middle pocket potter that the game has ever seen. And the way he could pot them really hard with top or bottem side on the cue ball, and that shot is so hard to do. If there was a hard pot to be made and your life depended on it alex higgins would be the man to make that pot. He has did shots that will never ever be seen again.

Yes he did win the world title in 85 but thats about all he did. 10 times out of 9 steve davis would beat him easy and should have potted that easy black he famously missesd to win it, but he bottled it.

Ray Edmonds was a far better commentator than most today. To be fair he was correct, Alex hadn’t missed a pot and his next stroke was over stretching ridiculously... look at the angle his cue arm is at! Not saying he should have used the rest necessarily because he was remarkable at reaching balls but it was no gimme.
