I followed the gps once after camping in Connecticut on our way back to NH. I pulled it right through the heart of Boston. Yup, all the Dr's and business men and women walking the cross walk were looking at us like they were saying, are you crazy? There's no campgrounds in the heart of Boston lady. I'm sure I was a laugh at their lunch gatherings that day. I was glad to get out of there, but it proved to my wonderful husband I could pull the camper anyplace I needed to. Great memories!! 😉

Well, we have playlists. That might be helpful. We have our favorite episodes, FL rvg, national parks, etc. In regards to the truck, Ginger (or trailer) weighs 9,200lbs. My truck has the big 6.2L engine and pulls it fine. With that being said, I wish I had a diesel so I had options to get a bigger rig. With THAT being said, we believe in working with what you've got. Hope that helps.

I have been full time in a travel trailer (much smaller than yours) for nearly 3 years. I don't travel in it though, well only if on vacation. I am in Charlotte, NC. Anyhow I often come on TH-cam to check out other full timer's and I found you. I am from Massachusetts originally and have roots as far up as Vermont through NYC, but I have been here in the south for 14 years. I never see anyone on here vlogging on the East Coast. When you went to HS did you ever run into McGinn's or Coffey's. My brother and his family lived in Barrington for probably 50 years ( 50 has nice ring to it) anyway at least someone knows where Barrington is. Have lots of fun and keep on daydreaming. Tom
Rad Apple campground is just down the road from our house. Sweet! We are having the same issues with our dog when we travel. We got a folding ramp..not an easy thing to do. Bailey is over 100 lbs.
Jack Youngblood I will admit that we're partial to the west coast, but there are some really charming places in the east with so much history. It's great by RV so we don't have to pick and choose. We end up seeing it all!
Yes, we loved it here. In a bit more humid part of the county now :) SC and about to head to GA. Will be interesting to see how Hurricane Matthew impacts our FL plans.

Nice video. We have been RVing for 4 years live in RI and made our first trip to Maine this year. We stayed at a different campground (sandy pines) enjoyed the trip. Normandy Farms is one of our favorites in Foxboro. How do you like the airbags?
We really wish we could have visited the JKF Library. We were so close, but it didn't work out. Next time. We love Presidential Libraries :) Yes, Maddie is getting fancy. She's going to get a pawdecure next.

Based on your last post on F.B., you mentioned you moved inland from the beach area of FL. Thinking about you all while going through this hurricane. I pray you all are okay, and your RV made it through okay.
Prayers are always welcomed. We're in a safe place and our biggest issue right now is total boredom! All this rain has kept us cooped up in Ginger, but it's giving us time to plan season 2 and have some good things in mind! Thanks for your concern. Glad you're following along on fbook too. -Marc
Marc, That's great news y'all are okay. I spent most of my life in Florida and lived out several major hurricanes. That last was Andrew where we lived in Miramar, FL in a home where boats were flying in the air with trees. Our old home when stationed at Homestead AFB was removed off of it's foundation and never found. Hurricanes are no fun, and I'm happy to hear y'all are just dealing with boredom and rain. Time for games, popcorn, and old movies. We took out our trailer for the first time this past weekend and found a plumbing issue. Good thing we were present, and able to clean up the water mess. Looking forward to more time out in the trailer camping and traveling. Take care, and look forward to future posts and videos. Sandy and Jay P.S. Wow... I couldn't imagine losing a home like that! Crazy. Glad to hear your took the trailer out last weekend. Yes, it seems something always needs attention. Plumbing issues are no fun though. I have a couple of questions. What AIR did you add? Was that shocks or air bags? Not sure if I missed that in the video or not? I'm thinking of adding air to my truck as well to get rid of that sag. In all your travels did you come across any mountain grades that gave you any concern? Either from a climbing stand point or going down hill? I too am from AZ so I have gone up Sunset Point and down it and that is a pretty good test on the truck and trailer breaks. Enjoyed the vlogs.
Great questions. I'm planning on doing videos on these topics and appreciate the questions. I initially got the Hellwig helper springs because they were suppose to prevent the sag, but didn't work. I tried it for 30 days and removed them. Ended up installing Firestone Ride Rite. Not only did it level the truck, but I could even lift the back end if I choose to. They work great. The kids complain the back end is too stiff now, even when the air is only 5-10psi. Yes, there was a hill coming out of the East side of Yellowstone through Montana that was crazy steep. Far more than Black Canyon in AZ - however, I just put it in 2nd gear and kept the rmp at 3k, which was around 45-50 mph. Could have gone faster, but that was good enough for me. I don't like to hear the engine at 4k rpm. In regards to the breaks - I have the electric breaks and can control from the cab. That is essential. Between the elec. brakes and downshifting... we have had zero issue with any hills. -Marc
Great info. And knowing the Montana side helps. We have a 26' trailer and we want to head up to Missoula Montana. One other question did you install the anti sway bars on? I saw you had the leveling bars as I do as well. But, wondering if you have anti sway and if so how well do they work?
Oh, I meant Wyoming (east side of Yellowstone). Headed into Buffalo. Some of the most beautiful country we've seen on the entire trip. Here's the video - you can get a glimpse of the region. At 17 sec. That grade was hell, the video just doesn't give it justice. Yes, I have an anti sway bar, but hard to say how well it works. I visited Kennebunkport 1st time in 1981 and it's still the same today, and Bush was "only" a VP in those days. The charm you see would be there without the Bush's influence.

I'm looking forward to your travels. I retire in a couple of years and I have plans to travel down the Tennessee river and through the Tenn-Tom on my way to the ICW in Mobile. From there I plan on doing the loop. My large senior dog will be a challenge and getting him on and off a boat will be difficult, but I'll make it happen. Did you put air bags or air shocks on your truck? I have a class A and it was down a bit on the right front and I put "Air Lift" air bags on the front and it is amazing the difference that it made so I can understand about your truck.
Yes, I installed Firestone Ride Rite air bags. It's awesome. Keeps the truck level and handles much better with load. A bit too stiff without the load, even with only 5 lbs of air.

We were at Letchworth State Park in NY last weekend. Just getting ready to head for Asheville NC for 6 days. Then it will be time to winterize :(. Parks in the Northeast start closing to campers later in October.
Leaving for NC now? We were just evacuated from St. Augustine FL and drove inland until Sat before heading back to the coast. I guess it all depends where in NC you're planning on going.

I was disappointed that Boston wasn't shown other than the tunnel and traffic. We love our city and especially the Rose Fitgerald greenway.

Nice video. We have been RVing for 4 years live in RI and made our first trip to Maine this year. We stayed at a different campground (sandy pines) enjoyed the trip. Normandy Farms is one of our favorites in Foxboro. How do you like the airbags?

Well, a level ride....but the kids complain of the ride being much stiffer in the back. But it's safer (and looks better).

Based on your last post on F.B., you mentioned you moved inland from the beach area of FL. Thinking about you all while going through this hurricane. I pray you all are okay, and your RV made it through okay.
Prayers are always welcomed. We're in a safe place and our biggest issue right now is total boredom! All this rain has kept us cooped up in Ginger, but it's giving us time to plan season 2 and have some good things in mind! Thanks for your concern. Glad you're following along on fbook too. -Marc

That's great news y'all are okay. I spent most of my life in Florida and lived out several major hurricanes. That last was Andrew where we lived in Miramar, FL in a home where boats were flying in the air with trees. Our old home when stationed at Homestead AFB was removed off of it's foundation and never found. Hurricanes are no fun, and I'm happy to hear y'all are just dealing with boredom and rain. Time for games, popcorn, and old movies.
We took out our trailer for the first time this past weekend and found a plumbing issue. Good thing we were present, and able to clean up the water mess. Looking forward to more time out in the trailer camping and traveling. Take care, and look forward to future posts and videos.

Wow... I couldn't imagine losing a home like that! Crazy. Glad to hear your took the trailer out last weekend. Yes, it seems something always needs attention. Plumbing issues are no fun though. What AIR did you add? Was that shocks or air bags? Not sure if I missed that in the video or not? I'm thinking of adding air to my truck as well to get rid of that sag.
In all your travels did you come across any mountain grades that gave you any concern? Either from a climbing stand point or going down hill?
I too am from AZ so I have gone up Sunset Point and down it and that is a pretty good test on the truck and trailer breaks.

Great questions. I'm planning on doing videos on these topics and appreciate the questions. I initially got the Hellwig helper springs because they were suppose to prevent the sag, but didn't work. I tried it for 30 days and removed them. Ended up installing Firestone Ride Rite. Not only did it level the truck, but I could even lift the back end if I choose to. They work great. The kids complain the back end is too stiff now, even when the air is only 5-10psi.
Yes, there was a hill coming out of the East side of Yellowstone through Montana that was crazy steep. Far more than Black Canyon in AZ - however, I just put it in 2nd gear and kept the rmp at 3k, which was around 45-50 mph. Could have gone faster, but that was good enough for me. I don't like to hear the engine at 4k rpm. In regards to the breaks - I have the electric breaks and can control from the cab. That is essential. Between the elec. brakes and downshifting... we have had zero issue with any hills. -Marc
Great info. And knowing the Montana side helps. We have a 26' trailer and we want to head up to Missoula Montana. One other question did you install the anti sway bars on? I saw you had the leveling bars as I do as well. But, wondering if you have anti sway and if so how well do they work?
Oh, I meant Wyoming (east side of Yellowstone). Headed into Buffalo. Some of the most beautiful country we've seen on the entire trip. Here's the video - you can get a glimpse of the region. At 17 sec. That grade was hell, the video just doesn't give it justice. Yes, I have an anti sway bar, but hard to say how well it works. Did you put air bags or air shocks on your truck? I have a class A and it was down a bit on the right front and I put "Air Lift" air bags on the front and it is amazing the difference that it made so I can understand about your truck.
Yes, I installed Firestone Ride Rite air bags. It's awesome. Keeps the truck level and handles much better with load. A bit too stiff without the load, even with only 5 lbs of air.

We were at Letchworth State Park in NY last weekend. Just getting ready to head for Asheville NC for 6 days. Then it will be time to winterize :(. Parks in the Northeast start closing to campers later in October.
Leaving for NC now? We were just evacuated from St. Augustine FL and drove inland until Sat before heading back to the coast. I guess it all depends where in NC you're planning on going.

My Mother in Law was born in Newport and going on a tour of the mansions all 3 and going to what I call 7 Mile drive near Ft Adams is awesome specially if you are there for the Newport Kite Festival....
