I applied for an apartment the other day and basically their only acceptance factor was a credit score. A good score can come in handy. If you're worried about overspending with revolving accounts try Credai, Current, or Chime credit cards. They're really just refillable debit cards that get reported to FICO as credit cards, thus maintaining a great score with no financial discipline whatsoever.
