Was on a Scania Omnilink once that upon crossing a junction had the same problem and they are scarily slow in first gear. Computer was reset while on a bus-only road (after slowing down absolutely all other buses behind us who were frantically asking the driver of our bus via the radio to speed up (and since the transportation company we used to have then had a really terrible radio system that didn't work at all both ways or only one way). It worked for a couple of seconds after restarting everything when we were in 3rd or 4th gear and it sounded as if the engine was bleeding dry and we slowed down slowly with the gearbox downshifting agressively (at points it should not downshift) and we were stuck in 1st gear again. Bus behind us was called for backup and we switched buses, bus I was on was taken out of service. And last time I saw that the newer OmniLinks can show faultcodes in the way the warning lights blink, it was basically doing BIOS-beep codes but by blinking short two times and then long one time and repeated it :P. Honestly, I must say that the computer in this bus seems to be actually helpful, whereas the Scania I was on showed a wrench symbol and it was probably up to maintenance crews to look into what the problem actually is.
I think it's because the computer of the bus messed up, thinking the front door is still open, alot of NWFB (Hong Kong) Enviro 500 MMCs have this problem...
It should be the 2nd gear is locked. Pay attention to the very beginning of the recording when the bus just accelerates from stands still. The ZF gearbox changes from gear 1 hydraulic to gear 2 hydraulic in reaction to light gas paddle applied.
As being a bus driver for Stagecoach I'll immediately call in dispach this bus has a problem and should be checked it will stop but it needs to be checked

The MMCs are loud inside for weight reduction probably. Facelift ones even more so. Engine sounds more industrial than first gen Enviro500 with the same engine

These Cummins engines in ADL buses have an extra whine/scream during revs than those in school buses/Ram trucks
