At 3.29, you shared that in reality, you don’t need 25 years to get back your investment but the next moment you use assumptions... “if inflation does not exist”... I do appreciate that you come up with videos to encourage people to start investing and yes you are learning as well.. but... it has to be more realistic don’t you think? Is like fantasy when you speak.
Ah you are right, I didn't make myself clear. It should be, even if inflation exist, it still doesn't need 25 years, bcos: - inflation works on investments too, stocks will be more expensive in 25 years from now - a good dividend company will raise its dividends as much as possible, like Mapletree Logistic had increased their dividend by 20-30% since 7 years ago
Another question if bought this stock at $20.00 per share x 3000 shares = $60,000 the same stock at a higher price of $30.00 per share x 2000 shares = $60,000 which scenario pays out more money given the yield is the same at 3% ?
this is a stupid question from me . I just invested in stocks a few months back , and I haven't receive any dividend before . My question is, How do you re-invest the dividend ? As dividends are like 2-5% only , you mean I just need to put back the money or it automatically snowballed in the system?
U can use this website to check when they give dividends last year, u will know roughly this year when u will get www.dividends.sg/view/M44U U will get it in cash in your bank, u need to reinvest that cash
Good points made Kelvin. Especially for an investor relying on dividend income and relaxing on expectations towards capital appreciation. Keep it up! =)
