I purchased the non adjustable reverse pedal from Ron and received it yesterday and installed it this morning. It is astounding how much faster my JD 445 will go in reverse. It is a high quality product and worth every penny I paid for it. Thanks Ron
I put my boot under the forward pedal and pull up to get fast reverse speed. It works great for short runs but this non-adjustable one would be great for longer runs. As for the adjustable one, just don't push the non adjustable one all the way down and you will have an instant choice. Just like the forward pedal.
I was looking at how to adjust the reverse speed of my 455 when I came upon this "U-Tube"video. I ordered the non adjustable pedal from Ron. It arrived a day earlier than expected, Took 2 minuets to install and I am amazed at the improvement. Thanks.Ron!!
I just received mine for a JD425. Awesome product. The one I tried from a different seller broke upon install. This is an awesome product. Very well built.
I am an independent consumer who just purchased the "New Generation" (Revised) Reverse Pedal. In my opinion this is the best of the two shown here. I can see by their construction that it is much stouter since it is made from a sturdy steel rod rather than thin flat steel. The claim that this pedal produces leg fatigue is false. It is not as high as the forward pedal which you use far more without fatigue. Also my boot has no problem fitting between the pedal and the tractor. Buy with confidence
I ordered the non adjustable pedal last Wednesday and had it by Friday, it looks like the factory made this pedal and works fantastic!!! Thank you Ron for the great product and fast service. Rob
Just got my pedal in the mail today. Took 5 mins or less to put on the tractor and what a world of difference.Quality pedal (made in americia) This is the guy to get your pedal from.
I received my Reverse Pedal and was pleasantly suprised. Looked like it came from the factory. It was easy to install and made moweing faster and more enjoyable. Wish I would have found you years ago. Thank You , so much. Great Product.
Bought mine from this fellow here. A little more costly but visibly stronger than the reverse pedals made by his competition that uses flimsy flatstock for the actuating arm, JUNK!!. I love mine and fit exactly as described. If you want a quality produce then shop with this man. He has his act together.
bought the adjustable for my 425. These are the best ever and worth way more than he charges. super nice genttleman to deal with. heal quickly Ron, thanks for the pedal. perfect A+++++++++
All i can say is by just looking at others yours is at the top of the list compaired to yours with adjustable settings to ones needs. My lt160 looks the same as the lx176
All that is needed is an extension on the reverse pedal.. I've made all mine out of wood. Just gives more throw when stepping on the reverse pedal. But if wanting a fabrication already made up, go for it.
From my past experience with working on John Deere tractors, there is very little adjustment if any available in the linkage on most of the lawn and garden tractors. For most people, trying to adjust the linkage is not an option, because of the time involved and in most cases it's not worth the time for what little speed you may or may not gain, but you still have a very hard to push plastic pedal that was a bad design. I will be trying this, just to make sure what you are saying is true.
I looked into what you said about adjusting the linkage for more speed in reverse. It is possible to adjust the linkage for more speed in reverse, but in return, you will loose what speed you gain in reverse from your forward speed. What this means is that by adjusting the linkage, you can have more speed in reverse and and less speed in forward. Or you can have more speed in forward and less speed in reverse. Either way, it does not change the fact that the plastic pedal was a very bad design.
Hey i like your idea for the pedal it looks very nice, but believe it or not the biggest problem with the john deere 425 445 is that the pedals are not adjusted correctly. for anyone that is mechanically inclined and doesn't mind taking the floor pan off the tractor and spending an hour or so working on something to save a few dollars you can adjust the linkage bar that connects the pedals to the transmission and get maximum speed in both forward and reverse. done it to both a 425 and 445
you could put your pedal on the reverse but for forward just unscrew the front pedal till its up high and it will press down further and make the tractor go faster forwards without loosing reverse speed mine dose a little over 15mph easy
This is true! But this video was not rigged in any way. I have nothing to hide from anyone. The reason this video was made was to let good honest people in this world see the truth about what they are purchasing. I want people to know that there are other sellers who will say nasty things about someone's great idea that are not true. This video will show people the honest truth, so they can make a choice that they will be happy with.
Thank you very much for your comment. But there will always be some people out there that will always try to save a dollar and buy a cheaper made product and never know how good they could have had it. Thank again for your comment.........
I'm not sure if this is even an active string, but it seems the R pedal is take away half of my forward speed and I see no way to correct this. I'm ready to throw away the reverse pedal. Sorry. Or..... Any help on fixing this?
Yes I’m still making the reverse pedals only for the John Deere 425-445-455 series tractors. You can contact me at 4196152773 I quit selling on eBay in 2018 because it turned into a job with selling 600 to 800 pedals a year. I still have a lot of sales just from this video and from previous buyers. I still have customers that buy these pedals 10-12 at a time so they always have my pedals on their shelf for their hobby of refurbishing these tractors. I have shipped these pedals out to every single state in the USA and even into Canada, although I (NO) longer ship anymore out of the United States. I’m (NO LONGER) making the reverse pedals for the LX & GT series mowers, because they are not as popular of a machine. My plans at this time are to use up what material I have and stop building these reverse pedals by the end of 2023 due to material cost rising, and shipping costs continuing to rise almost every year, making it difficult for this item to be profitable. Over the years I’ve built so many more much larger items and attachments for all different size tractors cat 0 cat 1 cat 2 that I have listed locally on CL with customers coming as far as 200-300 miles away to pickup my items. This year I will be cutting back and slowing down so I can enjoy my retirement. So anyone that has been on the fence thinking of purchasing the best reverse pedal ever built, you will no longer be able to get one after this year. I really want to thank all of the many, many customers that I have been acquainted with and for the many phone conversations that I have enjoyed with so many friendly customers, it’s been such a great journey since 2011 when I first started making these pedals. Who knows, down the road maybe one of my grandsons could spark an interest and become interested in a hobby. Thanks Again to all of my past customers. God Bless 🙏
One thing you didn't mention the stock reverse pedal is there for safety! With your pedal your boot can get caught under your reverse pedal causing mower to lurch forward, This happened to me ran mower in wall in garage and damaged a 700$ mountain bike.
And I believe that you forgot to mention who's reverse pedal you actually have on your tractor, mine or my competitor's cheap version. I can only assume that you're affiliated somehow with my competitor, possibly a friend, family member, or neighbor. It seems to me that there are 5 reasons for people like you and my competitor to continue to make false accusations about my products that have been sold in every single state in the United States. 1 - Jealousy 2 - Inferiority 3 - Lack Of Courage 4 - Weakness 5 - All The Above People like my competitor and yourself only do so for your own gain, or just don't know how to deal with a mature relationship. To be very honest with you, some of my customers have actually worked for John Deere Corporate offices back when these tractors were built. They have mentioned to me that they don't know why John Deere ever come up with this ridiculous plastic pedal, and they also said that my version is definitely top quality and very much original looking. I think this says a lot about my products when people from that level can say this about the things I build, and the products I'm proud of. Unlike my competitor, I encourage people to submit their comments for others to read. I want my customers to know the truth about my products, and how much better they are compared to other cheaper versions. If the table was turned and I were the buyer, then I would much rather buy from a person that's not ashamed to tell the truth about his products. You have a wonderful day.................
I purchased one of these pedals about 4 years ago for my 425 and I never had a single problem with it. I recently purchased another 425 that still has the OEM pedal and it stinks!! I just purchased one of these pedals and put it on today and the improvement it made is amazing!
I have had others that have asked the same question, and that same question has come up on some of the internet forums that are out there. I remember a guy on one of the forums that worked for John Deere told that person that these tractors were built heavy duty and would not be a problem. In my opinion, if your going to horse around on a garden tractor like we all did in our cars when we were starting to drive, then you're probably going to have problems weather you have one of these or not.
Other people have asked this question. After some of my own research, people from Deere say that this has no affect on the transmission, and that these transmissions are pretty heavy duty to withstand pushing snow, dirt, as well as pulling things, and using attachments with the 3 point hitch. Now on the flip side of that, I'm sure that if a person chooses to drive like some of us did when we were in our teens, then you are at risk of possibly having transmission problems.
You're right, I'm sure you can understand that I'm not the only one in this world that can look at something on the computer or in the store, and be able to go home and make it myself. I show in my listing the huge difference between my competitor's cheaply built block that slides onto the square shaft on your tractor. Believe me, those little tack welds will eventually break loose.
I'm sorry but I'm not the one from Minnesota that makes the cheap version sold on eBay. I'm the one from Ohio that makes the absolute best reverse pedal on the market. I had to stop selling on eBay because I couldn't keep up with eBay orders on top of phone orders, so there's no point in paying eBay fees when I have that many calls. I've sold my products in every single state in the United States and even into Canada, this is something that my competition can't say about his product. The proof is in the pudding. For the people out there that choose to condemn my products, you should try doing your homework prior to commenting about something you have no knowledge of.

I’ve watched your video and that of your competitor. I’ve noticed that in your video, the tractor on the right with your reverse pedal also goes much faster forward than the other tractor. Then you set up a race between the two tractors, one with your pedal and one with the competitions pedal. The one using your competitors pedal seems to travel at the same speed as the stock pedal. I don’t see how that’s possible, unless you’re cheating. Also, how fast do you really need to go in reverse? What really bothers me is that the other guys video seems to be a response to you attacking his product. Yours may truly be a superior product. That said, I wouldn’t purchase one from you based on this video, your description of it, and your responses to comments. If your product is better, leave it at that and let your work speak for itself. You look like a baby going after the other guy as you do. And your response to the guy asking why you hide the attachment point? Pretty petty, and kind of pointless. Anyone who looks under the floor pan of the tractor can figure out how your pedal attaches. It ain’t rocket science. So, yeah, your pedal does look like a stock piece and does in fact look better than the other one. But, you come off like a dick, apparently for no reason except that you may be losing sales to a guy selling a cheaper part. You really should take this video down and reshoot one that doesn’t make you look like an asshole.

Are you still making these? I looked on ebay and all of the pedals available on there look like cheap china junk!!
@@danbowen4083 yes I’m still making the adjustable pedal and the non-adjustable pedal for the 425-445-455 series tractors for now.

I no longer ship anywhere outside the USA.
These 2 styles are the only ones I’m making until I run out of parts that I’ve already got cut out and machined.
I (NO) longer make the pedals for the LX or GT series tractors because there isn’t much demand for them.
I don’t recommend purchasing any of the reverse pedals on eBay because they are all very cheap and not worth your time or money.
I’ve heard these comments many times from my customers over and over again.
Thanks…..Ron
