it’s always predicted to rain in singapore. it rains almost every day, typically during the day (less likely at night). i’d not take the forecasts completely at face value cos it always has the same “30 degrees, sunny & lightening clouds”
Having lived in Singapore for 6 months earlier this year, we got a lot of microbursts when it came to rain. It would be fine in some areas of the island but a 30 minute downpour in others. Because it's a tropical location, the rain builds up during the day but doesn't start to come down until some time in the range of 2:00 to 6:00, and generally doesn't last longer than 2 hours. Additionally, summer doesn't get the same level of monsoon weather that January had.
Yes it’s a very European thing to look at the weather forecast for Singapore and say “it looks like it’s going to rain” without knowing that indeed rain is always on the forecast in SG. Being a tropical climate rains forms more quickly due to the convective clouds and it’s much less influenced by winds, hence it’s very difficult to identify potential patches of rain forming like they do in Europe.
Whole internet seems to be speedrunning discrediting anything Lando does lol. I'm not even necessarily his biggest fan but it's pretty ridiculous the amount of flak he takes. They're keen to create some narrative that Oscar is twenty times the driver Lando is (Oscar is a fantastic driver too, don't get me twisted) and that Lando is suffering some sort of catastrophic falloff, but the situation they're trying to paint simply doesn't exist.
@matfoster5938 you actually think he can take 8 points off max every race? Mind you that doesn't mean lando scores 8 but he has to beat max by at least 8 in every race. Given his current form? It's not happening. I'm not saying max is going to dominate but at least in one race he won't let it happen and will prevent lando from winning. If you say in 25 it will be a proper fight then yes most people would agree. But I don't see it happening this year

i say this with quite a bit of lando bias here, but hes been extremely unlucky and been hard done by alot by team strategy on multiple potential wins canada, silverstone was clearly on mclarens pit wall. austria was mainly max being quite dirty. hungary giving the win back after proving a point of pulling a 7s gap. his unlucky q1 exit in baku with the yellow flag from ocon. clearly the mcalren is the best well rounded car but the ferrari really comes alive in slow speed corner tracks with good high speed straights. i do think oscar is close especially in quali but race pace hes not that close to landos tyre management. its clear in monza both mclarens cooked theyre tyres pushing each other as much as possible for the win setting fastest lap after fastest lap. and on the day piastri was the better driver. but i wouldnt bet against lando next season either. my prediction is charle will most likely win singapore as it seems to suit the characteristics of monaco and baku more. but mclaren should be dominent in the rest of the season afterwards especially texas and qatar. lando has made mistakes most noticably china sprint and belgium. losing the lead on turn 1 but this seemed like a characteristic of the car rarther than lando himself which maybe oscar managed better and also isnt in the limelight. this is also his first championship winning car so for me theres gonna be some growing pains and learning experiences e.g racing max when hes being aggressive one being not fighting piastri into turn 2 of monza for his championship sake and i think hes gets alot of hate for that like many drivers who have challenged in the past. Oscar is the future. i have no doubts. i love him being with mclaren and hes everything he needs to be in terms of racecraft. hes consistent ect lando has an edge in race and quali pace. my bet would still be on lando for 25 but i cant wait for the return of the teammate fights for championships. its been way too long
