most of the jobs that will make that much money requires to have a stay at home spouse if you have kids. They usually require you on call at all time (CEO of fortune 500, neurosurgery etc ). It is extremely difficult to have dual career in those fields. Most single people actually do not make it either as having a supportive spouse is essential, so think of it more as a team sport.

ask most doctors out there if they would have made it without their spouse. Most of them tell you no. While you are in training you have to have someone home to take care of things for you. The US training for physicians assumes you have a family member taking care of everything for you and gives you no time to take care of others. Without this support many people have to drop out. So it's normal that anyone supporting a physician in training for sometimes 10-15 years should get compensated.

The men in the comments that are salty do not have a fraction of the money the husband clearly had. You don’t have these issues and won’t have to pay this much money because you don’t have it. She stayed at home because that was the agreement between them. So his income was their income.

Here wondering what caused the divorce. What was this man thinking? What did he do? What did she do? You making this kind of money , you should try to do everything to keep your family together. Maybe this money does not touch her husband net worth. $15,000 a month for child support and alimony.

To all the men out there who are saying “this is an advertisement not to marry” -y’all are probably broke and need to grow a set.
When you get married you do things together, each person brings something to this marriage and affords the other the opportunity to be successful.
And before people ask - I am a multi millionaire guy who didn’t inherit a penny and respect the heck out of my wife.

Because it's legal, they feel like it's rightfully theirs and have no guilt cos according to the law they did nothing wrong. I guess we gotta keep saying to not get married cos men are still getting themselves screwed.

Can you reverse all the years she dedicated to looking after his home and kids? But she gives up her career and pension building to look after his home and children, women need to be compensated too because it's work to build the man's family. If you don't want to take care of woman who becomes your wife and takes care of your home and raises your kids while giving up her career, don't get married.

@@Atlas-tp8dwma’am, you understand this doesn’t indicating the message you think it does. In fact, you’re technically reiterating what this guy is saying from the opposite POV. I understand what you’re saying in trying to stand up for the stay at home mother (which is noble and has risk to it too). However, legally speaking what you’re saying justifies the anti marriage attitude many men today have.
